I really dislike the black lines, in seasons 1-3 they were used to show negative emotion but now they're used as casual shading and frankly it looks dumb. I get that it's more faithful to the manga this way, however the manga is in black and white so it makes sense, the anime is not, so why? |

No anime can give watchers the same emotions as the manga. I think Mappa tried to give only anime watchers the same experience as for the manga readers and at the same time as close to the manga they could.. |

I'm no expert, I've been watching anime about 10 years, I've watched about 200 seasons & movies and for me aot s.3/4 is the pinnacle of what I've seen for visuals, gripping plot, amazing characters, thrill, emotion, also it makes you think. A lot of MAPPA stuff I'm not a big fan, but I'll always be grateful what they did with aot. |

This might be only for you ig, but they personally didn't bother me at all. MAPPA is a different studio from WiT and so there obviously would be changes like this because the staff and general design/style is different. Also from what I have heard, they probably did this to replicate the manga's art style irrespective of what the original colour is. You can even notice how the characters aren't glowing with shiny borders around them like in the first season lol. But ig it's just a matter of preference. |

So...MAPPA's adaptation looks dumb, because of some lines you didn't like... Yup...this one seems like an unbiased and well communicated opinion to me^^ Can't you just be like the other dudes, posting "aNiMAtiOOn baaAAdddD, mAppA sUcKs!!!!!111" ...or something like that? No need to sugar coat, my dude. It's alright. |

Perhaps they should've smudged the edged like they did in the FSP1 trailer. However their potential was wasted because of the schedule they were going through. Their art was a little simplified after FSP1 for the sake of animation and FSP2 looks dope, they made the art just a little bit more detailed in FSP3 and look still how great an animation they pulled out. Basically, the bold black lines done by wit looked cool, but honestly speaking sometimes it looked lame aswell. The linework in their art was more simple, but they were honestly horrible in season 1 and 2 because if how carelessly they were drawn to my eyes (they haven't even drawn a single smooth line, I don't have the images now, if I had I would've shown you), you can notice them if you zoom them in a little bit (and they are clearly visible if you watch them on TV). In season 3 though they improved their art by miles, every line was smooth and the art was also more detailed. However, after mappa took in the art took a jump. However it was so detailed some people didn't like that. But you'll get used to it as you continue watching final season, trust me. In the beginning I was a little disappointed too because I was really attached to the artstyle of wit studio, but once I got used to final season's art, my mind completely changed lmao. ![]() |

Honestly I think the shading just has a more rough and edgy look that fits the tone of Attack on Titan very well, it makes it stand out more compared to most anime. I never thought anything else of it. |

I never thought anything else of it. Basically its all about enjoying a show. There's really no need of over-analyzing, both the studios have done a really good job, and they were two of the best studios which could've ever adapted the show. Honestly, AOT is all about plot, but what we're getting is both good plot and good animation, I'm happy enough with it, there's no limit to how better things can be, but I'm almost satisfied with what they pulled out. Next, I'm really curious about what they'll do to the ending, I hope they'll nail it, it's studio MAPPA we're talking about. |

Their logic is right, but that doesn't change the fact that FS P1 still had poor animation compared to previous seasons. However, people often blame mappa for what they did to FS P1, that shouldn't be done, cuz the devil is someone else. Mappa really isn't that bad, they know their shit. |

However, people often blame mappa for what they did to FS P1, that shouldn't be done, cuz the devil is someone else. Mappa really isn't that bad, they know their shit. In the same way you gave a fair point in your previous comment, you said something very lame here. Such problems were never created by wit you say? That's too mean man. Wit was able to create at their best only in the first season or two, after that they started falling apart. Aside from their action scenes, their walking, running, and conversation scenes have always looked lame, and in season 3 they were, almost like, uh, garbage. Season 3 looked static several times, and they reserved most of their time only for the action scenes, and here comes the reason, time restrictions. You're doing the same STUPID mistake of blaming MAPPA again, after I tried to explain you previously, and in a much more logical way than others, without any toxicity. If you still hate MAPPA's animation, be it, but at least know who to blame for it. I'm saying this because when you say that the problems which MAPPA created never arose from Wit, you're trying to say that both of them had the same amount of time. Why do you forget Wit's cgi colossal titan? Yeah Ik that's only ONE thing, but that ONE thing is terrible enough to be more terrible than anything MAPPA ever made (it legit looked like a PS1 boss), and MAPPA's terrible moments, were only in FS P1. Their animation improved by leagues in P2 and P3, and they were pretty dope. Wit studio's fight choreography is good, but MAPPA's choreography overall is better. The only things Wit studio were good at are the action scenes, concentrating light at certain places, and contrast. And MAPPA excelled at CGI, character movements, facial expressions and conversations, character designs and overall art, and overall choreography. When it comes to realism, MAPPA nails it. |

It does, objectively speaking, not suck. Yiur opinion is just wrong there, but it's still yours I guess. There is a reason why aot is still popular and loved by a lot of people and, surprise, why almost no one shares your view on this. Deviiilchan said: Leon888 said: Deviiilchan said: are you stupid ? I could ask you the same question, if you don't like negative comments why don't you stop watching them and shut up? lol, like we have to shut up when a show is bad, just because otherwise fanboys like you will cryLeon888 said: It didn't suck tho, that's were you're simply wrong. Like said before, if you hate it so much why don't u just not watch it and shut up? People like you want to be different so badly.Deviiilchan said: Because people, they don't have to know, if you watch a movie and that movie sucks, you don't go see all the problems that arose during the production of that movie... the anime sucked and it's irrelevant if the animators whether or not they had problems during productionRaionshin19 said: Deviiilchan said: if it bothers u this much, don't watch it and shut up. People make posts for the most stupid things recently in relation to aot, it's getting old. I know right? It’s getting on my nerves. Mappa did an amazing job especially when you consider the working conditions during Covid Yeah, people sometimes really forget under what confitions animators, not only at Mappa, have to work and that, especially with big shows like aot, there are time limits too. Alr attention seeker, lol. u r not special for hating on something that is objectively good you know? If u hate it this much ..to take time out of ur day to spend this much time thinking abt it, maybe there's something wrong w ur head xd |

Merve2Love said: So...MAPPA's adaptation looks dumb, because of some lines you didn't like... Nah bro MAPPA's great and they did a fantastic job with AOT, I just don't like the black lines they used for shading and don't see why they exist. Also have you seen the comments, you can't tell me this shit ain't funny |

I like MAPPA's animation style. Removing the thick black lines is a good choice. 😀 With WIT Studio, it feels as if the black lines are really thick. It's not bad to cast shadows and all that; but, WIT Studio could have done better without it. |
