Glad Kenshin beats them in. Kenshin is a good boy. Protecting what people he can on his own instead of taking a government job. Yahiko is good boy too. Even if a bit of a brat at times.

oh the ED's not too bad.

The story will definitely get better , but not for now...

The Arc adapted in this Season is basically just Kenshin saving innocents left and right , while kicking asses.
Some fun and cool characters are introduced (be it as innocents or villains) , but it ultimately still is some "Villain of the week" type of story-telling.

Actually , the Author hadn't planned to do more than that , and just started Rurouni Kenshin to enhance his skills in drawings.
But since he created a lot of characters , his editor pushed him to do a long-running story with them , which resulted in the creation of the 2 whole Arcs in the Manga , where all the "real story" is.

I vividly recommend you to still not drop the series , as the 2nd Arc will definitely satisfy you in term of story.
It's with it that Rurouni Kenshin became a classic Manga , and it's often considered as one of the best Shounen Arc of all time.
However , it won't be adapted before the 2nd Season...
Though I love the early parts of RuroKen a lot as it sort of fits in with its era and that's the Jump I grew up with. Kenshin and the others daily lives depicted at a nice pace is great.

I can see why some may not enjoy its slower pace atm, but everything works out.

Huh, so this is how Yahiko meets Kenshin (in the live-action, he's introduced at the dojo). Hopefully, the last pocket he picks.
The popo overstepped and Kenshin put them in check. His fellow patriots want him to serve again after that display of swordsmanship but he declines. Times are changing, so are potential threats...

Don't you get a feeling that in this remake, everything is given on a plate? Kenshin's identity, Kaoru's crush...

Oh lol Himura caught on the incident with the police officer again over those triggered arrogant Dio person. Ofc he takes down him in one glance but still good to know more wise part of him when talking about the past. I wish Himura a good luck after the general found out his situation like that and let him be in peace with waifu. I mean, yes....

Well, Yahiko also getting introduced too with such a decent hype from me. So this is quite interesting me for the next part already.

My guy is a Public Hero. He'd rather wander the world than to be connected with egotistical bastards that make up the police.

Can't wait for the little boy to be saved and to obviously be trained in the dojo.

Hey, you seem to have read the manga?

I would like to watch this, but I personally just really don't like starting stories that have an bad/badly-written ending.

And I saw on the wiki that
The sequel manga also has a lot worse rating.

Thanks, would appreciate an answer a lot.

Which is? I haven't watched this 2023 remake yet but I did watch the original years ago, the movies and OVAs, it did have great things and bad things like any other anime out there but I want to know about this "cancer of anime" thingie you mentioned, what exactly do you mean by that? is it bad animation? bad comedy? etc...

Edit:

NVM, it's probably the thing some people are mentioning here with the author that is getting the threads locked, if that's the case then I don't care about it, I separate reality from fiction and if the author writes a good story for a product, then I will consume the product if it's good, that's all I care for.

Don't have any complaints with this episode, things continue to brew under the surface. Really didn't take much time at all for Kenshin to get the eyes of those higher-up officials on him, but he's sticking to his guns. It's as they said in the episode, not being tied down by the state is what lets him do what he wants freely. God forbid you wind up in that organization and the ruffian police become your co-workers. Wouldn't want to be anywhere near that.

He really made those cops look like fools by taking them all out on his own XD there's no recovering your pride from that. They were rotten so doubt they would ever change, they needed the rude awakening that they weren't the law.

But the episode looks like it's setting up a perfect damsel in distress scenario. Kenshin had his inner monologue about how the kid could have become a proper samurai in the right times, wouldn't bat an eye for Kenshin to appear and save the kid from the yakuza. Would be terrible if they broke the kid's hand THEN he got avenged for it.

You're probably thinking of the sequel OVA that DEEN made, which is filler. I don't believe Kenshin's death was ever shown in the manga.

When keeping it real goes wrong: “The Sword Bearing Police" thought they had an easy target but what they didn’t know is that the “easy target” was the man once known as the Hitokiri Battōsai!

As yhunata mentioned, your spoiler is not part of the canonical story (it's the first time I heard of it).
The "sequel" is DB Super style - takes place in a time-skip between the end of the original manga and the final arc. I didn't personally read it and it's fine to ignore it.
As for the actual original manga... well, the last arc does actually completely fall apart towards the second half (just the honest assessment), but the ending is still fine. You can always just pretend it ends at the Kyoto saga haha

Small correction : It doesn't happen in a time-skip , but completely after the Manga , including the Epilogues.

Its not canon? Okay. I knew this kind of manga sequel from  Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san and then a time skip and "Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san", which Im pretty sure is canon.

Thank you for the answer!

Another chapter with quality, seeing that they are taking good narrative positions in adapting the manga chapters, it was also seen that they completely removed the humor that the 96 anime had and we will see a more serious story

In the fight, the choreography was excellent, the attacks could be seen clearly. The only thing that I did not like is that we could not see the complete fight, but rather the parts of the climax, making it known that this will be one of the resources that they will use for the animation to save movements of characters

Kaoru's Kamiya Kasshin-ryu can forget about having students, so as long as Kenshin's there.

The kid from the streets, Yahiko Myojin, he's a rather sulky one to deal with. Whilst Kenshin has to deal with Kaoru's whims, he's lucky that he did not encounter someone who's looking for him as Himura Battosai. Sure enough, Kenshin got himself into the same sword law trouble, though this time, adds the Sword Bearing Police in the fray for abusing their position in power, led by the Satsuma Imperalist Revolutionary warrior of Lieutenant Ujiki, forcing Kenshin to draw his blade.

As opposed to the Chief that he wanted to welcome the same Hitokiri Battousai to add to his ranks, this commotion alerted Kenshin to him, which Kenshin facing off against the Sword Beating Police, his Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu has no rival. Against the brink of the townsfolk celebrating his win, the Kiteihai General of Imperalist Arimoto Yamagata has finally spotted him after 10 years of finding him, though he has no intention of joining the force. Yamagata may have wasted his time, though it's not for nothing, because Kenshin just wants to be an independent rurouni.

Thanks to Kenshin, Yahiko is done being a pickpocket for the yakuza, though his consequence is heavy. Who will come to his aid?

I havent watched the original anime, this truly seems interesting. I know that in the original kenshin was sillier when he wasn't fighting... Which version is closer to the manga?

I have many times seen that the ova is supposed to be great, can't wait when this anime allows me to watch that...

If you were in my position, would you just watch the original anime or wait to watch this version?
