I'm under the impression that he has forgotten everything prior to waking up in the hospital (I could be wrong). Also, I would think that if one is distressed over selective memory loss, they would also be much more so over massive memory loss...people saying they know you and you don't remember, etc. The point is thought that he is forgetting something, and taking it like a grain of salt. Even if you want to say it was like being unconscious, people who wake up from comas and have lost days, months, years, are severely distressed by at least the amount of time they lost.

That's a different kind of distressed. With selective memory loss, it's "There's something I should know but I dont," whereas in Touma's case it's "This person knows me, but I don't know them — what do I do?"

What about the coma analogy? There should be distress over the fact that you have 2+ weeks wiped away, and that the cause is this annoying little girl that you are continuously jumping through hoops over. It's bad execution of his character to not explain that, he gets annoyed over such little minutae like taking in a cat, or food getting eaten up, but the girl causing him memory loss? Does not compute.

I'd pass it as some kind of inverted drama. Big life-changing experiences, like taking in a mysterious girl (for a reason unknown thanks to memory wipe) or fighting mages who 'aren't supposed to exist,' are things that need to be believed can only be believed or not believed if you're told you've done them. However, his personality is still intact, so he can get annoyed by 'minutæ.' Touma also seems to have a rather laid-back personality, as in 'not much I can do since it already happened.' (Yes, this applied to Index's memory, too. The reason he didn't give up was because there was always (in his mind) the option of erasing the 103,000 grimores.) I mean, how much anxiety did he show when he found out that magic existed? Or how about when MISAKA #whatever died — he didn't emo-ote* for too long, especially after he found out that MISAKA was basically a hive mind.

Yeah, Touma is not very shocked about anything as a whole really. He seems to take everything in stride. Everything. Mages? Girls with thousands of books stored in her brain? Vampires? Alchemists? He's ready and willing to accept things after the initial shock goes by. Even when his hand got cut he was like "oh, thanks for putting my arm back doc".

If there's one thing we need to be glad about the mind wipe is that it seems to have deleted the "Must do drawn out moral speeches to every enemy I encounter" directive from his mind.

It's bad execution of his character to not explain that, he gets annoyed over such little minutae like taking in a cat, or food getting eaten up, but the girl causing him memory loss? Does not compute.noteDhero you got to assume a lot of things in this and yes, it is stupid sometimes people think that many will understand yet no explanation because of that.

Big life-changing experiences, like taking in a mysterious girl (for a reason unknown thanks to memory wipe) or fighting mages who 'aren't supposed to exist,' are things that need to be believed can only be believed or not believed if you're told you've done them. With the memori lost one can doubt endlessly as well as only trust with their eyes what they can see since the memory itself is not reliable t all. However, his personality is still intact, so he can get annoyed by 'minutæ.' Touma also seems to have a rather laid-back personality, as in 'not much I can do since it already happened.'Indeed the personality in terms of character did not change just the system dealing with it and how it deals with it. The point is there may be only a 10%~20% variation because most of Touma's personality is conserved from what we know about since episode one. (Yes, this applied to Index's memory, too. The reason he didn't give up was because there was always (in his mind) the option of erasing the 103,000 grimores.) I mean, how much anxiety did he show when he found out that magic existed? Or how about when MISAKA #whatever died — he didn't emo-ote* for too long, especially after he found out that MISAKA was basically a hive mind.Major trauma affected Touma and he never gave up because his personality is always caring, you all should know that with the way Misaka was acting and Touma not wanting to even punch her yet he could have.

Only because he hasn't needed to. Izzard was kinda... I guess he didn't need one, since he wasn't hurting anyone per se. Anyways, I thought that Touma's speeches were kinda badass, at least when compared to someone else's.

Well, at the very least Touma has some actual power "of his own" backing his words.

Decent episode. Mostly developments though, with the discovery of the Sisters and the Level 6 project. I can't wait until Accelerator faces off with Touma.

And somewhat unrelated to this episode: I'd like to see some events crossing over with To Aru Kagaku no Railgun in the future. I mean, Saten and Uiharu both appear in the intro, so I'm hoping they actually appear in the show itself sometime later.

I don't know how the manga works, or how they divided the source material, but the source material is just one straight line, and the anime will follow the novels in order. If the manga borrowed material from the novels to make the spin-off, then it's bound to come up eventually.

this episode was a bit better than the last ones. I can feel more of a direction on where this series is going. Kinda. I haven't read the manga but its ok. Accelerator looked cool. I always wondered about his skill because I couldn't tell from the opening song.

Hope to see more suspense in the next episodes.

The amount of delicious legs in this episode makes watching it worthwhile. So they're trying to make Accelerator into Lv.6, eh? I don't know why they would try, seeing he is pretty much unbeatable anyway.

But he's still a level 5, that's not interesting. The researchers want to see what a Level 6 would be like. It's human curiosity to aim for the unknown.

Decent story development. Not as good as the previous episode imo, but still very enjoyable. Personally I dont like the idea of "MISAKA Clone Army". I hoped she would be unique. ;)

I don't understand why characers never realize something is wrong with another when they look into their glossy eyes. How could anyone think that something speaking so robotically and has glossy is real? I just don't get how it happens in so many different anime.

I liked how Touma kept holding on to the cat the whole time. I thought it was pretty sweet that after all of those things happening he didn't just drop that cat because afterall Misaka wanted him to take care of it.

What the fuck?! That's a lot of Misaka back there. So that's the reason why she talks like that. She's just a clone, and Mikoto knew about this since the beginning. Also, ACCELARATOR? SEEMS PRETTY BAD ASS I SHOULD SAY. VECTOR CHANGE? HMM.

I didn't get what Touma found under the bed. Was it something related to the clones? Also, the heck are those battle fields for? Testing to become a level 6? What the fuck?! Also, Touma's misfortune stroke again since Kuroko couldn't use her powers because of Imagine Breaker, lol.

Index was cute in this episode. I love it when she says "I'm hungry". It's just cute, lol. ONAKA HETTA~ Why did Deep Blood slammed the door in front of Index?! Poor Index. :(

Wow, I was pretty surprised to see the Misaka killed off completely, but then it turned out there's a whole bunch of them. >_> So now we've got clones.
Accelerator's power is pretty impressive. It seems he's impossible to attack, if he can redirect anything right back at you. Perhaps you'd have to have a bunch of people attack all at the same time? Well, Touma will probably be able to cancel it out, at least, if he can reach him.
Kuroku seems amusing. It looks like she's not literally Mikoto's sister though, even though they looked that way.

I liked the episode, but the part with the "corpse" of one of the clones was really... horrific. Not SCARY, just gory. D:

Not much happened, but I don't mind too much... It felt more like a lead-up to the next episode, anyway.

... I don't really like Kuroko. o_O Her way of speaking or voice annoys me - not sure which it is really.

I'm amazed Index can actually... lie on the ground. Even if she's hungry... But it was funny how she didn't give up and said "At least feed Sphinx~" as an excuse to get in. XD (Though, hm, in retrospect, that scene with Komoe, Himegami, and Index eating hotpot (erm I wasn't paying enough attention, but I think that's what it was, right? Can't remember if it was sukiyaki...) seems sort of out of place... so I hope the reason for showing them there - eating dinner while Touma's trying to figure out what's up with Misaka - becomes clear in the next episode...

So if I'm getting this right, they've created clones/drones of Railgun to use as tools to sharpen Accelerator's skills/killer instinct. It's like some sort of sick gauntlet, series of reindeer games. Whoever came up with this is a sick son of a bitch. It must make Misake feel like sh*t, too.

Kuroko was hot this episode ... I wanted to do dirty things to her on her roommate's bed ;) A whole army of Railgun clones ... it's Maximum Clonage all over again!

I'm betting Accelerator's the subject of the experiment to create a 'Level 6' ESPer, the idea of causing him to have battles at certain spots in the city reminds me of the murders in 'From Hell' and the ritual involved with them. I guess they're feeding him copies of Misaka for some similar sort of power-up. Why I'm not sure, with that 'Vector change' power he has hes already sick as hell.

Index herself is only becoming more useless, annoying, and (thankfully) forgotten as the series goes along. If she wasn't the romantic lead they'd have probably written her right out of the story by now ... that and she's the title character. They don't have that problem in Railgun tho, and I look forward to all the shoujo-ai between Kuroko and Onee-same ;)
