light novel volume 4 i think, 23 episodes ended in the end of the volume 3

I'm with you, I would love to have a new season of the anime but I believe it'll be really really hard. We haven't got any info in the anniversary event which was the best opportunity to announce it, I still have some hopes in it but yeah it's gonna be an amazing surprise if we actually get it.

It’s 1 season with 2 parts, not much of a difference but they’ll probably announce a new season sometime when they aren’t doing a bunch of projects. I think this year is the most they’ve done and 86 isn’t their top priority for it right now, so maybe next year.

the manga has been dropped since the mangaka is not well. The LN is solid, def worth the read. 11 volumes out right now and you can start from volume 4.

Except any list of the best anime in the last few years will have 86 on it. You didn't like it dont pretend like that isn't a minority opinion.

Hi, just curious.

I just watched Season 1, but why are some people saying we probably won't get another season? If you ask me, it's far too early after airing to either confirm a new season or assume it to be abandoned.

I’m really not sure but somehow I’m under the impression that there’s maybe not enough content in the light novel and manga that can be adapted. This is just my shot in the dark honestly. Apologies if I’m wrong

And honestly from what I heard about the next volumes, it sounds like the story is getting better and better so like why can’t it get another season? You know what I mean.

I think 86 is hella relevant to our existing real time adversities (if that makes sense) and it’s damn beautiful

the anime adapted 3 LN volumes. Currently there at 11 volumes released with the 12th volume out this year. Ig there's enough content to make 3 new seasons easily and volume 10 is a prequel volume which already has some parts adapted in the anime

and yes, not liking anything is a minority opinion in todays world. doesn't make it invalid.
and just to reinstate, both seasons of 86 are buildups to nothing imo. but it's masked by good animation, amazing sound design and emotional moment (that only work 50 % of the time).
for the record, i judge my anime based on their category, meaning i'm way more generous with a seasonal trash isekai and way harsher when it comes to top tier anime. and frankly, this doesn't even compete with my top 50. but as a normal decent show, it's pretty good.

really . . . i dont think 8.5+ score and almost 400k members is anything but overrated.
let's take a look at the rankings (since you seem to at least look at them from time to time), directly above it we a kenshin movie with the same score but almost half of its members. and directly below it we have ippo season 2 with again the same score but approximately one ninth of its members. now consider this for a second, 86 has been out for what? one . . . maybe one year and half? and in that short time it has towered over classics.
now im not saying it's all hype and no substance, not at all. im actually ok with its score and i think it deserves it. but to count it as underrated . . . is kinda like looking at a pretty looking garnet (a type of stone) in a sea of diamonds and going . . . the garnet is better. yes, it's far better than your average rock, but it still fades when compared to actual diamonds.

note: sorry if the rock analogy was weird. looks like i've studied too much geology as of late.

I understand, and that's why I said mal scores don't really matter lol. Anyways your opinion is yours and that's completely fine. But it's still a really good story, and as an LN reader ik it gets better, and so a lot of people are hoping for a new season, simply because that's what the majority of the viewers want.

I feel that the anime series can stand as autoconclusive. I wouldn't have a problem if they stay that way. The final episode gives a pretty good feel of closure.

With the dub having been finished not long ago, I feel like we could get a new season announcement. But we could also be stuck where Attack On Titan fans were between seasons 1 and 2 with a longer break. I’ve read through volume 6 of the LN and you start to get more mysteries that would make for great content. Fingers crossed. It’s still one anime I highly recommend to people looking for anime outside of the typical Shonen styles. Especially for people who may highly enjoy stuff like Attack On Titan.

I highly don't think so.
86 is A1's current 2nd highest rated anime, and with so much source material still left out, they def gonna make more seasons. Maybe not so soon, so we gotta be patient.
