| It's been a while since I've watched a show this eccentric. It's sometimes hard to take this show seriously sometimes but I don't know, something about this show just works. The characters are quirky and entertaining and I thought the story was fairly engrossing. All in all just a solid show. |

If you watch the sequel, you'll understand that not all of the Friday Fellows are completely normal. I do think there's a lot more to the Friday Fellows than meets the eye but the show never really delves into that aspect. |
| This show reminded me why I love anime so much. I've seen some duds recently and I was genuinely starting to worry that I wasn't going to find anything that made me so genuinely excited to watch anime again...and then I picked up this show. It's so delightfully quirky and intriguing. I was on tenterhooks by the end. I just loved the dynamic with all the characters and the dialogue, the art direction and OST. I just thought it was so well done. One of my rare 10s and it's earned itself a spot in my faves. |

| Overall that was pretty fun! Really fun comedy like the "train" ramming into the house from a little swing with the fan :D I must say though I'm unimaginably mad at the Ebisugawas (daughter aside), especially the father. What a piece of shit. It's been a while since a character made me this mad. The "punishment", or rather lack of one, was not enough. I was hoping the whole time that the situation bites him in the back and he ends up in the pot instead... But at least the Shimogamo family is safe and sound! I was really worried for the mother in the last few episodes. Even if she was not supposed to be eaten that situation clearly was too much for her. I kind of expected her to just pass away right there D: luckily that didn't happen! And the frog is finally out of the well and staying. Let's hope he gets the hang for transforming soon again. |
| I was fully entertained and moved. What a great finale to the first season! I wonder why Kaisei doesn't want Yasaburou to see her face? And I don't know why but I felt it was warm when I saw Akadama sensei giving advice to each of the boys except Yasaburou, hahahah. The most important thing is to live your life well and do fun things. I really appreciate and honestly admire the way Yasaburou sees and deals with things, although of all the Shimogamo boys I like the most (and can relate to, not as a tanuki or a frog, but as a human) is Yajirou. I hope he can change his form back into human form in the second season :) |
