Damn, I feel bad for Minato but I guess that's part of life. Just gotta get back up when life knocks you down.

This episode was alright, a bit less focused on archery and more into the lives of our characters and their emotions. Seems like they are building up the character personalities of the cast. Kaito in particular caught my attention with his inner thoughts.

It seems they are taking steps to understand what their shortcomings were in the last tournament. An opportunity to better characterize Minato and especially Kaito. Looks like he will have his own inner thoughts later I believe. I know it's a small thing but I like that one scene where Minato and his dad messing up in their house, insignificant but nice touch

MAL is the perfect place to shit talk about people's opinions.

It's never easy to understand the main reason why you yourself is at fault for a team to not do well at a tournament, so it made for a nice episode in seeing Minato slowly, but surely understood where he went wrong in the regional tournament.

For the style that they play, a team's tempo is very important. Minato was getting too caught up with his own style that it was throwing the tempo off for Kaito, which had him struggle a lot in the tournament. He's still having his inner turmoil, so I'm sure he'll conquer that issue very soon. =)

I can also relate to Minato, where your observation isn't perfect and you end up stubbing your little toe on a table leg, which bloody HURTS! >_<

Damn those backdrops really work hard to pull on the heartstrings of anyone who wants to live in Japan. Absolutely stunning. And the soft lights and the reflections, just about everything. And they really line them up one after the other in this episode in particular, one would be forgiven for thinking they're the real star of the series.
As for Minato - it's actually nice that we, the viewers, are just as confused, I think, about why exactly he's being "punished". We're taken on a ride together with him, involved and invested. Also marvelous.

A lot of character moments this episode, centering around Minato and Kaito, and I'm glad they're building up the characters more instead of just shooting arrows every episode. Knowing the reason why you lost at something is always hard, when at first it seems that you're the one least at fault. What Minato didn't realize is that while Kyudo can be seen as an individual performance, it can affect the other members of the team. As for Kaito, he has a rough exterior, but he's very nice, and doesn't want to put people down even though he knows that Minato affected his play. There's a lot of reflection at play here, and I'm interested to see where it goes.

As for the quality, KyoAni has continued to keep it up, and even with all the production issues with other anime this season, I have little to no concern with this one. They'll get it done, and it'll look gorgeous.

Masaki's cliffhanger indeed got explained throughout the whole episode, and it took awhile for Minato to finally realize it. I like Minato's father who realized earlier about what's happening between them before Minato do, that opens up Minato's mind to finally understood what the suspension means to him. instead of blaming it to others (well ig many parents doesn't like their children to be blamed, that's why i thought this is a good thing to know). Kaito should stop blaming and taking all the responsibility all to himself for being an Omae, and start thinking and grow together as a team. I really hope for positive progress in the next episodes

The episode is way less intense with slower pacing than the previous episode, finally getting into character relationships with other and building up plot with it. New characters are introduced one by one, Kaito's older sister, Eisuke's Uncle and previously Shu's younger sister. Adding family members to the show really makes us understanding the main characters even more.

Thank god Minato realized (no thanks to Masa-san) what he was doing wrong in the span of just one episode. Now what's next is to talk things out with Kaito and hopefully, he will be allowed to take the bow by the end of next episode.

i like how this episodes tackles on minato's inability to find (his own style) himself in kyudo and kaito's perception that it's his job to keep the tempo going.

This episode explains why this season is called the "linking shot". Makes perfect sense now!

Minato's so lost in his own world wanting to be as awesome as the other two that he lost sight of who he is and why he is doing what he's doing. He's still not getting what the others are saying, at least I think he hasn't fully understood why they lost.

Minato's form was bad, and because he was so busy thinking about how he wants to be like Shuu and Einsuke, I think he mesed up the tempo of his own shot which led to Kaito being surprised when his turn came. That's how I took it.

I'm delighted Minato is aware that he was the one who threw the team's timing off.

He only needs to work on his own form from now on and stop copying others.

It's remarkable that Nikaido refuses to take on a coach or use a dojo for the team.
