| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This opening episode was all over the place. I really had no clue what was going on in the beginning. Started to come together more at the end so I have hope that it will make more sense as the series progresses. Seems relatively interesting so far. |

| Wow! It's rare for a first episode to really grab my attention, but this one really did it. Or, perhaps it was the bit eye candy that kept me engrossed. In any event, I will be watching ep 2. |

| This episode didn't seem much interesting to me(lolz I'm setting it as watched after one day!). This show seems to have many things in to happen but just the first episode was too strange and I wasn't feeling like watching the second ep after that. I hope this anime will grab my attention at some point. |

| OP song was alright I guess, might not skip it. I really like the smooth OST though. Those are some interesting entrances with the dialogues lol. The Mc is pretty badass at least with his jet blue eyes and swift speed. AT LAST IT HAS BEGUN he says. Seems more like a set up episode so far but it felt a bit rushed.. |

| Fragmented storytelling with a lot of isolated scenes that don't have any immediate connection, but that isn't uncommon in anime. The world building comes across as plenty detailed already, though having existing knowledge of the Bakumatsu years would probably help memorise all the names flying around. |
