Great episode. Nice wake up call for Ruki, showing that what she's been doing is essentially no different to what IceDevimon has done.

IceDevimon was super weak if he was defeated by a child level, lol.
Ruki still hasn't changed her attitude, she's annoying.

^They're using cards to boost their Child level Digimon though.

I found the episode disappointing, tbh. The set-up was great. But, the climax and the fighting weren't all that good, especially considering all of IceDevimon's boasting.

And I think the problem, especially with this season overall, is the lack to two-parters. Some of these episodes are written as if they don't have 24 minutes but rather 30+. Then Konaka has to go back and cut things out to fit that run-time. This ep, Ruki and Jian's backstory eps... all suffer because they are condensed into 24 measly minutes.

I'll wait until I see the whole season before going further, but I can already tell this is going to be Tamers' major issue.

On a side-note: the preview for this episode the one thing I remember the most about Tamers from years ago. Not sure why, but it was memorable enough that it's pretty much the only thing I DO remember beyond a few details.

I thought this episode was very interesting, it gave off a very frantic and paranoid feel. Very fitting since IceDevimon was more or less stalking Ruki to make her his partner.

IceDevimon was initially painted in a very intimidating light but later on we see him get easily beat. It shows the gap between a "weak" digimon and a normal human.

Dat Wild One.
Ruki.
Dat hand behind Ruki.
Culumon.
WTF! Culumon intentionally wanted to be touched by Ruki.
Ruki's okaasan.
WTF! All of sudden Culumon cant speak Japanese?
Dem hands behind Ruki.
That was very rude of Ruki to say Renamon's not her partner.
LMAO They ignored Impmon and left.
LMAO at Terriermon sending Impmon flying by loopholing Lee.

I hate to downplay Kosugi as IceDevimon since he's my bday senpai, but Shiozawa is still the best Devimon. His "Erabareshi Kodomo-tachi" line is iconic and his performance was more entertaining. IceDevimon had that monster of the week performance instead of a final boss of the arc performance. Unfortunate that he passed away 1 year before Tamers. Also, what the heck was up with Culumon this episode. It literally didn't speak Japanese until near the end of the episode. It was like a Pokemon at the beginning. Takato's going to be pissed when he finds out Culumon let Ruki hold it but dodged him multiple times.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

IceDevimon wanted him and Ruki to become partners, but Ruki wasn't interested in his offer.

Kyubimon coulnd't defeat IceDevimon, but Guilmon finished the fight after the combination of cards that Takato used on him.

After the fight, Ruki said she hates all Digimon. It seems she has had enough.

I don't think it's fair to downplay IceDevimon just because he lost to a Child, especially since Guilmon is pretty top tier among Child mons for combat. It shows how important strategy and not underestimating your opponent is, since Kyubimon is obviously stronger than Guilmon but lost, and there was even a Pumpmon among those he'd beaten.
