Those two guys in Ash's team, I don't know their names but the big black guy and the skinny white guy with pink hair, they seem like the doofuses of his group and I hope they never die.
The black guy is named Kong and the toothless one is Bones.

hahaha now that Eiji knows Ash's scary past about pumpkins, he tries to provoke him by showing the pumpkin in front of his face and humiliate him in front of everyone XD Eiji must have guts but he's very lucky to have Ash as his friend or else things might get ugly!

Nice episode! ^^ Can't wait for the next one. Let the war between the gangsters begin...

It feels like the show is getting slower and events are ocurring less often. Relaxed episode, it's like Ash is setting things to his revenge.

I’m so fucking pissed they cut out an entire conversation between ash and eiji that was like pretty important
Oh, crap, you're right. That was a pretty important conversation they had by the seaside dock that comes into play later for sure. Eeck.

Omg daaamn, can ya tell in which chapter in manga it happens? Imma gonna go reaaaaaaaaad it!!

Loving these guys so damn much <3

Volume 8 chapter 1 at around page 44 (25 in online scans). Ash tells Eiji how he views his own life and how he pictures his death will be by
It is a pretty important conversation that shows that Ash is mentally in a really dark place and how his character develops later to get out of that mental state. So the argument that he and Eiji had did not just get resolved as easy as the anime makes it seem.

That explains it, I was wondering why it hadn't released yet. Most likely the intro change maybe?

As someone who hasn’t read the manga, I mostly enjoy the pacing of the show. It doesn’t FEEL like i’m missing anything essential.

Rip shorter

The bar scene was pretty badass, but what else could you expect... it's Ash fucking Lynx

Well, as expected, that conspiracy between Golzine and the government is huge.

It took me a bit by surprise that Cain agreed with Ash that easily I mean, without getting anything in return. Even more when they clarified he hated white people and stuff... I don't know, the whole situation was solved way easier than I thought it would be.

That aside, I liked this episode. Ash is starting to doubt about who he is now since he needs to use more violence to suppress violence itself. But at least, he has Eiji who works as a support for him.

So, Ash vs. Arthur is coming next episode. I'm really looking forward to seeing that.

Wow, Ash was kinda cute and sad on this episode huh.

Guess next episode is going to be kinda major, with some really decisive stuff happening.

Ash spends his time getting rid of any potential enemies, not giving a single one mercy. I can’t say I feel sorry for these people as they’ve all done terrible things, but as Eiji says, it’s not really like Ash to be killing like this.

Lol the Halloween party was cute. Pumpkins everywhere! It’s nice to see how much Ash and Eiji’s relationship has progressed since the beginning of the series.

Looks like Ash wants to deal with Arthur once and for all. I imagine the next episode is gonna be all about their fight. Looking forward to it!

This episode had a strong argument about America's political approach to Middle East. I have to admit I'm disappointed to see that nobody initiated a discussion about it.

You're not the first to mention how the political aspects of Banana Fish that are based on real life events (although it was Central America in the manga and Project MKUltra) are not discussed on here. It was brought up briefly in the BF is underrated thread. I tried to discuss it in another forum and noticed just the lack of interest of topics related to the real world. It's weird.

There it goes again, another bittersweet episode with the Halloween wholesomeness and then the sudden sad shift towards the end.
I'm really with the idea of Eiji leaving to Japan, at least for the time being, a great gang war is about to start, and if he's going to stay with Ash, he's only going to cause trouble again, just like Max was saying, innocence is probably the greatest weakness of Ashlan, who would have known, for a fearless lynx like himself. I'm afraid Max was only foreshadowing the inevitable, I hope not.

I'm sort of relieved that this is not another tragic episode and Ash x Eiji and the pumpkin scene is really cute. I wonder what will happen between Arthur and Ash but that bastard deserved to be killed!

Damn all these comments make me want to read the manga!

I guess I'll definitely do that after finishing the anime. I feel it's a shame to marathon all the episodes, but it's holiday season here in my country and the show's just too good.

Dino's face when Ash appeared was so priceless and satisfying.

I also agree with Ash -- Natto is just one of those flavors that gross me the fuck out. I eat just about anything too, but man that stuff is so grosssss.

Ash's explanation of their operations in the middle east and their hands in drugs and money is all too real. They do a great job showing the government and the underground society's power struggle (and partnership) with strong world leaders.

It’s so sad how Ash can only forget everything & be “normal” when he’s with Eiji. The moments they share are so cute yet so sad. Brb I’m crying.

The halloween party was such a breath of fresh air amongst death and chaos. I'm obsessed with the ED theme and how well it cuts to Ash walking out of the apt. I haven't heard a anime ED this good in so long I'm sooo happy I started banana fish!!

As the ED starts to play again, we see Ash leaving his place with his friends still asleep, walking alone before while it's still dark out, onto continue on with the life that has taken ahold of him and not let go. You then start to think how it was only at a very young age where Ash had some semblance of a normal life, and that Eiji was the one to make him taste a little of what that was like once again.

Looking through this thread, it seems like a rather impactful scene from the manga was cut. I hope that's not the case, and that it has simply been relocated elsewhere in an upcoming episode.
