| Hory Sheet! This was exciting and very bleak. The OP already feel like a funeral. I wish the OP switched with the ED We got a Shimakaze cameo. Yay! This is like the movie, bleak. Feel that everyone will die at the end. Beginning with a suicide mission. 1st division is pure excitement to see. Is Yamato, Musashi and Nagato, is just enough to be sky high. Ps: Almost forgot, we got faeries, yay! At same time, oh no.This is more bleak |

| My first thoughts are that this show has a much different feel compared to the original series. That one was a mix of action and lightheartedness. But with this series, the mood is much more serious. The girls are approaching this mission as if they are not going to return home alive. I'm not expecting a happy ending with this version given the mood, as well as what history says will happen. |
| I was never a huge fan of the first season, but I'm still glad this show is back. Everything looks as nice and cute as before. :3 Good episode. Definitely better than I expected. I like the OP and ED. |

| Realistically Shigure shouldn't have done what did as increases the risk to her charge. The OP was good but damm pretty somber. But it looks like we'll be seeing a fair bit of shipgirls this season looking at the visuals. Its endearing to see the contrast between Fusou and her sister. As battles to make use of as their last ever sortie Leyte gulf was the best one they could have used. Fusou's little speech showed well just how low their odds of survival were in this one. Just how much space did Yamashiro have in her sleeves though lol. Overall its been a while since we seen the girls in an anime and despite this being a reduced season its nice to see them again. So far animation is pretty crisp and voice acting has been top notch. The tone for this season as shown near the end seems to be on a more serious side though given the battle that they're embarking upon I suppose its appropriate. Looking forward to seeing how the girls fare next ep. Though this season might not be for everyone for fans like me its right at home. |

| Not a huge fan of the OP but I feel like it will grow on me later in the show. I don't remember too much about the shows first season but I basically understand whats happening. I've always liked this show's concept so I'm looking forward to the second part of this series. |

| Compared to the first season's serious, but light hearted mood, this second season, focusing on Shigure and her group, already has a more tense and serious tone about it. It makes sense since we only have eight episodes, but hopefully there'll be plenty of moments that will potentially satisfy us who're watching. The first episode itself had that sombre and melancholic feel to it, as did the OP song. We did get to see some cute moments, the highlight being Mogami being given her planes from Yamashiro and seeing how happy she was. Aside from that, it has that feeling of "The calm before the storm". Production values looks pretty good, so I hope that holds up for the whole duration of this second series. =) |

| Though I know almost nothing about Kan Colle, there is one character I'm interested in; it's Shimakaze. It may be only me, but her costume reminds me of "the stars and stripes". |
| Ah yes~ I can finally see the largest naval battle of World War II in anime format. Unless they want to commit another heresy like season 1, I can't wait to see the nearly one sided slaughter those girls will experience. |

The historical event they want to cover by itself is so short and quick that the result can almost be described as a one sided slaughter fest (yes, that bad). So if they go with 12 episodes, it might ruin the pacing (50% more content to make is not a joke). 2. Considering how good their animation in this 1st episode are, I bet they think that it is better to focus all the budget to make this 8 episodes look as good as possible rather than having 12 episodes that look below average like season 1. |
| Is it just me, or it looks budget af? I mean, the animation isn't great, a lot of silent moments with music (where could've been dialogues), weird and ain't very good op and ed. I was pretty hyped for this, being a fan of game since 2015, but man... |

Yeah this one has nothing to do with Season 1, not even sure why MAL labeled as sequel. The concept which was originally season 2 probably turned into the movie. 8 Episode is ... probably they run out of budget so wanted maintain quality than being a mess on last episodes (we will see if its actually true or not.) Probably this anime wont appeal for people who doesnt know naval history much. point is even if its 1944 the ships that are in the main cast outside of the main girl don't remotely seem that interesting compared to all the others that were showcased but that's because of the plot that they are most likely gonna die from what the setup seems |

| I thought it was a fantastic first episode. The somber music at the beginning was great, the silent moments, the animation. I thought it really set the tone for what to expect of this anime. I'm quite baffled how they were able to make me care about the ship girls in under 24 minutes. |

| Wasn't a fan. I hope e 2-8 don't have as many score heavy scenes. It was feeling like a silent movie or opera. It's quite somber. The 8 episode season isn't surprising. I was thinking I needed to rewatch the original until someone said it's an alt. version in another universe. |
| Can someone explain to me: - If this anime takes place in 1944, then why these girls have "souls of warships" in them? Wouldn't these ships be the current ones, in use in 1944? It could make sense it the anime took place in 2014 for example. But I don't see a need for stating a year anyway. In which year does the first season and the movie take place? - Why use some cute girls as weapons? Why not just use actual warships, airplanes, artillery, etc.? How are these girls better? It could make sense, if these girls were actually stronger, faster, better than the alternatives. Like "only they can win this, because they are much more effective.". I watched the first season in 2015, I don't remember anything and I've never played the game (I don't play mobile or browser games). I knew people who played the game, but I did not talk with them about it. |
