Main Assignment

PART ONE:

Welcome. It will not matter how many times you decide to re-read, use conversions, or make futile attempts to decode your assignment. Prepare yourself to give in to my grasp; you will succumb to complete darkness and endless torture.

During my previous visit to the mortal realm, I collected a total of eighty-five human souls, that upon arrival, were locked away in my personal chambers for my own amusement! But the problem with fickle souls such as yours is that they eventually perish from continuous torture. So, I sometimes have to come back to the mortal realm to retrieve more souls, and that day is today.

Fortunately for me, I still have a reasonable amount of amusement left in my chambers—a staggering sixty-four souls remain! Although, if they were all fresh enough to keep me pleased, I would not be here retrieving more, would I? I have experimented with fickle beings such as you for a long time in order to create the most pleasing experience for myself, while being the most horrendous toward you. After countless trials and constant errors, I finally came to the following conclusion: six souls have to be tormented simultaneously, creating a hexagon.

After all these experiments in search for the perfect formula though, I have basically destroyed my entire supply of fresh and feisty souls. This is why I have resurfaced and am in need of more toys. More than forty-seven of these souls will soon perish—unacceptable! I cannot allow myself to go a day without entertainment, especially now that I have finally perfected the most joyful method of torture.




PART TWO:

While the majority of souls left will soon perish, twelve of them are still in pristine condition. The best part of these special souls is that they all knew each other while they were alive in the mortal realm! So, I have been saving them for a few decades until the timing was just right. Meanwhile, I have been speaking with them separately in order to get them to spill each others' deepest fears, regrets, and weaknesses in exchange for a lighter punishment (which I obviously will not grant for any of them). Then when the time is right, I will use what I have been provided to give them all the special experience they actually want.




PART THREE:

The pleasure I have been granted has been quite the luxury with the torment of the soon-to-be perished forty-seven souls. Though I will never be completely content—no matter the amount of collected souls—or be pleased enough to never witness the despair of a soul again, this cycle will continue until there either are no more humans or I perish. While my current record of number of collected souls is eighty-five, I will top it this time around to avoid having to resurface too soon.

It is still quite pleasing to think about all of the current remaining sixty-four souls—even if the majority of them will soon perish. Some of them will not be receiving the pleasure of termination; I will not personally continue to torture them, but they will instead be placed in limbo for aeons. The fate waiting for eighteen of these souls will be complete and utter darkness, where they will constantly gasp for a breath of air that will never come, all the while being conscious and left with only their thoughts as company. It will not be as pleasing as personally torturing them, but knowing that they will be conscious in limbo with no end in sight is also rewarding in its own way.

It may sound as if limbo is worse than being tortured, considering the span of time they will be there, but there are several pieces of critical information that have not been disclosed yet. Time flows very differently in the space where I execute the torture. While the actual torture may only endure a few years, it will actually feel like aeons. The reason why all forty-seven souls are close to perishing is because the sub-space they are placed in drains their life force. While in limbo, they simply are. Limbo does not drain their life force, so they will be there until their minds are corrupted. I have only placed thirty-two souls in limbo in the past decade to avoid taxing my powers on something I will not even be able to witness myself. It is a special occasion though, since I will soon be receiving more toys.




Bonus Assignment

If you are thinking that I do not have a shred of empathy and I completely lack morals, then you are correct. It is amusing though, especially when I phrase it bluntly like this: I am a completely immoral and an evil being; humans like to twist my words and take everything I say as some sort of guidance. Some see me as a sort of governing entity that is there for them at all times. Mortals have a tendency to quote everything I say; they have even begun making lengthy texts on printable paper to more easily distribute their holy texts.

There was even one human that dedicated a large portion of their time in the mortal realm to write a book based on previous appearances I made. This human spent forty-five years on gathering information and writing this book. By the end, it had a total of three-hundred eighty-four pages. The amusement I gained from witnessing that human's utter agony and despair when he realized that the one entity he dedicated his life's work to did not care in the slightest about any of it was exhilarating. Upon receiving his soul, I was completely ecstatic. The emotion that followed was pure ecstasy. If you are thinking I should just experience all of this myself instead of dooming mortals, you are not wrong; I started experimenting on myself before moving on to humans' souls! It is all to seek the most horrendous torture of all! I am simply sharing this wonderful experience of despair with you. The only difference is that I will not perish or corrupt my mind from something so joyous.
