| This show is funny man... but it is what it is. I love exaggeration which is on point. Also, they learned very quickly as soon as Team X scored 5 against them in the match. But, hey at least we got one, thanks to Ichigo on our team. Looks like Isagi needs to learn what it means to be a striker first. Nothing wrong with learning. The ED visuals were good |

| Barou's here and he is surely going to steal the spotlight from everyone. Definitly one of my favorite characters in the early stage of Blue Lock. He's just what you could call, a true king. They took what Ego said a bit too literal. It ain't no football anymore. It's whoever gets the ball, does whatever he wants. No one is going to help each other because the sole goal of BL is to grow into the most egoist player on earth. And this is where Barou comes and shines. ON THE FIELD, I'M THE KING! Isagi and Bachira about to flip the whole field. But the one that did it first was Kunigami. A great episode once again. Blue Lock is really shining in every aspect in terms of production quality. Soundtrack to animation and perfectly capturing the artstyle of the manga. |

| The first of those many, many ultra edgy characters to make his appearance, Baro, who for some reason has an utter lack of vocabulary. King, Peasant, Trash and…. that's it. Yeah I guess maybe lacking is an understatement. Though coming to the match, Baro ain’t lacking a speck when it comes to his football skills. Dude single-handedly annihilated the whole of team Z, though blame that clown act too team Z gave for the better part of the match, it may hold well with Blue lock’s principles but an absolute no when it comes to football. Anyways they did manage a goal courtesy of Isagi assisting Kunigami but dude Isagi got dissed even for that lol. That’s just how his life is. Visuals holding really well in matches though. |

| Looks like this episode got into the action on the field with no nonsense. This was Team Z's first legit match against Team X since the program started. The match turned into a 'who can be the best' rather than who can win for the team. A lot of psychological elements in this episode and it felt more than just about scoring points. Something that also started to catch on to me is the soundtrack in this anime. It works pretty well imo. |

| Team Z is definitely gonna have to figure out their teamwork, they got destroyed by Team X. Good for them for managing to score once but the way they're playing is too reckless. But I guess that's the challenge that comes with this Blue Lock program, you have to become the most selfish striker but you also have to find a way to still balance unselfish team play. They showed that they're capable of that with the one goal they scored, now they just need to get the chemistry down. I like Barou already, dude is ruthless. Having one of my favorite VAs in Junichi Suwabe is also a plus. |

| Barou's goal really sent Team Z into a panic. Looks like Bachira, Isagi and Chigiri were the only ones who didn't lose their cool. Best moment was the teamwork between Isagi and Bachira. Have a feeling these two will make some big plays. |
| I like how they acknowledged that Messi, CR7, and Cantona have never won a world cup, and therefore the Blue Lock project wouldn't really work without a proper team. |

| There are so many still shots during the match and it's making me nervous how they're going to adapt some of the important matches. Regardless I really enjoyed this episode and Maid Barou's debut. |

| The 1st Selection of Blue Lock begins with a Round Robin, starting with Team Z vs. X. Playing by teamwork vs. individuality, ego is the only thing fuelling everyone to move forward on their own accord, so much for "creating soccer from zero". The one that stands out is Team X's 250th place player Barou Shohei, whom he scores the opener with no resistance at all. With that, Team X is doing a better job to get organized as a team thanks to Barou, and Isagi's team only falters with the goal deficits. All they need is 1 goal to turn that "zero" into "one". Isagi and Bachira are working together to create Team Z's foundation, but in regard to facing the high wall that is Barou, Kunigami got the goal while Isagi lost focus, leading both Raichi and Barou to burn his hopes down as a striker. But what they need now is teamwork to ace through the Round Robin, otherwise they are over, like what Barou did as a catalyst to get the "zero" into a "one", then multifold. Ego's pep talk to Team Z acknowledges their road to victory, and more to drive their passion if they want to progress further. One loss, no more mistakes. |

| i do not get what this weapons of each striker suppose to be but im curious but ye it seems obvious its about the unique strength (be it dribble, header, technique, etc that was shown in that scene too) of each striker will play a major role and yep i at least know that Messi and Ronaldo have never won a World Cup (yet) so soccer is still a teams sport |

| Sure, it's intense, but there's not much substance to be had here. How can so-called "experienced" soccer players be so disjointed and disoriented with each other? It's like Team Z just gave up from the beginning because their egos took over. The dialogue was just very stiff, and while there are some genuinely good bits of animation, I can't find much value in this show so far. Maybe the rest of this round-robin can change that, but not too hopeful. |

| Another amazing episode. I liked how Ego explained how the Japanese are so good at baseball but have not been as successful in football save for a few Japanese players like King Kazu, Nakamura,Kagawa,etc. Barou was the shining light this episode and it was cool to see him lead his team. Kunigami's leftie power shot was also amazing as well. Team V slapping team Y and we get a little preview of three players that will be important in the coming episodes. Next up is team Y vs team Z(I think) and Team Z needs to get their shit together. Oh and the production quality, animation, visuals are amazing. I don't know what people are complaining about. |

| Thrilling episode to watch. It was nice seeing Isagi and Bachira out in the front, they make up a great team, hope they stick together as they do right now. Was funny seeing FFA football at the start, and it was interesting to hear and see how you don't only need to go full ego but also a well-structured team. Was expecting to see Isagi and Bachira go monster mode but considering the opponent they faced you can hardly complain. The moment when Isagi passed the ball to Kunigami gave me Ao Ashi vibes, maybe your inner monster doesn't only have to go on the offense. The episode kind of ended short but the post-credit scene was enjoyable to watch. |
| Before I say anything else, are there cameras in these locker rooms??? Anyway I found the baseball analysis very interesting. The argument seems to be that the Japanese find the dynamics of more “fluid” team sports culturally difficult. I can see where that line of thinking is coming from. The Japanese do seem to like to focus on and hone one singular craft; think of the stereotypical master who dedicates their entire life to painting the perfect hina doll, or releasing the perfect shot in Kyudo, or Jiro crafting the perfect sushi. Thus the more “rigid” team sport of Baseball is more appealing. After all, a pitcher needs only to master a handful of pitches to succeed. In fact you can go a whole game just throwing four seamers and change ups and do just fine. Sure you may have to field a ground ball, or catch a popup but that’s about it. Furthermore, nothing happens until you throw the ball…assuming no one else is on base of course. Defense and the midfield are kind of like that too in their more “rigid” formations. A striker on the other hand must be an innovator and do so much more than master just 1 kind of shot. They need to do it all, dribbling, positioning, trapping, volleys, pks, headers…dare I even say passing? Anything can happen at any time and the more “rigid” Japanese mind has a meltdown in that position because of that. Ego wants to change that. He believes only through pure arrogance and selfishness the Japanese can finally break through this “rigid” mindset and succeed on the world stage. At least I think that’s where this is going. | 3/5 It was a decent episode. I expected a lot animation-wise considering it was actually Team v Team but it's still nothing to ride home about. A new character or "King" as he proclaimed himself looks interesting. He had a decent introduction, wonder if he's going to join the main cast or nah. Loved the realistic approach of VAR with no referees present at all. I just get giddy seeing real football terms in an anime and also, that diss against CR7, M10 and Cantano was hilarious and true. I still don't know what Ego is really striving for and that mystery has me intrigued. Some cast members are getting really annoying including the protagonist but hopefully they grow on me sooner rather than later. Bachira is an interesting one. Overall, a satisfactory episode |
