Tbh, I’m not sure what the writer is doing. Why choose now in particular to put Ainz in a dicey situation with the NPCs when there have been so many opportunities in the past? It feels like more than a joke this time.

Will it just resolve itself with some convenient misinterpretation of genius like it always does? Or will the blind faith in the intellectual genius of Ainz-sama finally fade a bit?

Btw, Ainz doesn’t seem to realize that Nigredo and the dog maid just made that last point to save as many people as they could. He seems to have a one-track mind of incorporating the opinions of others regardless of the intent behind those opinions or it’s effect on the plan or him specifically.

I like how there's a little combat in every episode and this one was no different. Development of different characters already introduced in earlier seasons of the anime was also fresh to see.

Nigredo was interesting in this episode, one of the few residents of Nazarick with human empathy. The siege on the coastal city was really interesting. Seeing that mecha at the end of the episode leaves me excited to see how Nazarick will respond to it. Looking forward to next week.

I don't think he can hear any pleas to humanity as long as he is cut off from his own humanity, just as Lady Nigredo (who is a metaphor for his heart) is imprisoned (and cut off from the world) deep within the icy depths of the tomb where her circle of influence is greatly limited.

He wasn't able to eat the biscuit. It fell apart on his teeth. And he wasn't able to drink the tea they made for him. There was a lot of powerful imagery / visual storytelling in that segment.

The battle felt short but that is to be expected from 1 episode.

The person with the red flying armor looks deadly so this is the first time we see a gundam like armor and a machine gun. We know even with those equipments, there is no way they can defeat Ainz’s forces. In the end, either they get wiped out or they retreat to fight for another day.

Overall a really fun episode that does mostly everything I expect out of Overlord. Really enjoyed seeing Albedo's sister, she was pretty interesting, I hope we see more of her in the future.

Don't know what was up with that weird pedo lady though. That was pretty strange...

Loved it, neggerido and that mecha adamantine. Damn was hoping to watch that blonde gal get massacred and ripped limb to limb but damn still enjoyable.

A very positive way to look at it. I do like the idea behind that character flaw now that you put it that way.

I guess I’ve just been so fed up with the running gag scenarios and the NPC’s that laud him up as an unrivaled genius. It has made it difficult for me to take Ainz as a character seriously.

This episode was pretty good! Loved seeing Albedo and her elder sister, as well as a little bit more of Shalltear. Also love the adventurers and seeing Momonga just slap the title of war down.

Remember this: in Yggdrasil you could make your own items, as long as you had the know-how (and a friendly 3d artist or knew how to do that yourself) and materials (data crystals, metals, etc). And many items made their way to the new world.

I won't say anything that spoils vermillion drop so I'll just say that I'm happy to see Nigredo finally get her anime debut even if it was without the babies :(

Episode did unfortunately feel a little rushed but wasn't the end of the world.

That priestess, Lilynette, had me laughing quite a bit. At first, I thought she was simply hungry for precious heirlooms and treasure, but all she wanted was to be the concubine to the leader's youngest son instead. She's quite the shotacon, huh? XD

Either way, this episode felt pretty quick, but in a good way. Nigredo's face was something I wasn't expecting, but her talk with Ainz was pretty interesting. The battle at the port town was intense and had some good animation as well.

The unexpected part was the adamantite adventurer turning up in a robot that wouldn't look out of place in a mecha series, proceeded to gun down the two big undead creatures, then gave a quick salute before flying off into the distance.

As expected, Ainz expected this battle to go the way it did, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the next episode. =)
