Kirinmaru's apparition of Osamu Kirin has started alleviating the Grim Comet from within, while the half-demon princesses are stuck in modern Japan, unable to go back to the Feudal Era.

For that reason, Moroha, Towa and Setsuna all get their short break, while Rion and Rika fight for their last breaths together with Osamu to get the world they desire with Kirinmaru consuming the "poison apple" Kyuyokon fruit.

There's no time to waste, and the one last chance for Akuru's Pinwheel to turn on the Sacred Tree of Ages to bring them back and stop the Degenerate Age...but Osamu might've adverted that instead to summon a being worse than the Grim Comet: it's true state of the Grim/Dream Butterfly to stop Kirinmaru and destroy demons as Rion intended.

Now, the world's fate rests on everyone to set things right: Sesshomaru's re-match with Kirinmaru, and the rest to stop Kirinmaru's real right arm Osamu. Really going for the final predictable stretch.

It looks as though things have flipped. Osama Kirin taking advantage of Rion to make this so called new world she wants. Him being Kirinmaru right arm he must still care very much for Rion but now he's using that to warp her dream. Using that fruit to have this giant grim butterfly appear out of the comet to absorb Rion wish and make it a reality. It hurts to see Rion be used like this, Osama Kirin motives have always been mysterious but no we see what his goal is. Devotion to Rion no matter what even if that means destroying the world to create a new one for her. But we all know this isn't what Rion actually wants, she just wants all this to stop and her dad to be done with it. Glad that the girls managed to get back to the feudal era. The goodbye to the Higurashi family did make me tear up, Sota really was a father to Towa. Akuru using the last of his life energy to send them back, that made me sad too. The girls must find a way to free Rion and stop Osama Kirin while Sesshomaru faces the actual Kirinmaru.

The only reason I still watch this series is to hear the wonderful voice of Hosoya Yoshimasa. I'm afraid the predictability of the plot will not reserve any surprises at the end.

I don't like that Sesshomaru ordered Rin to stand there and witness him. Either he is gonna tear Kirinmaru to shreds or he is committing double suicide with her. I would have 100% trust in Sesshomaru if he hadn't been on the brink of death just a while ago.
If you are going to disagree with me, don't bother talking to me. I will seriously hurt you!

So I’m ngl this has kinda fallen off… so kirin sensei is now the real bad guy? After selling all those dreams back in the modern world?? And rion is falling for this eternal peace bs all because kirin reminds her of her nice dad? We’ll see how the end turns out, but I’m not really onboard with the writing down the stretch here.

Best part of the ep was sesshomaru waking up and telling Rin “let’s go”

I have no idea how to summarize my thought on this episode. The best I can come up with is that it feels like they're barreling to the end of the show at full speed while also shoving every idea they have on what the finale should be into one. End result is that none of it makes any sense. Why does Rion immediately follow Osamu Kirin, to the point where she tells Riku she doesn't need him? Why does Kirinmaru immediately buy into what Kirin says?

Also, there's just a lot of smaller issues going on. Why do we get Kohaku and Hisui in the same scene with Inuyasha and Kagome but absolutely no interaction. Why does Moroha mention that she finally met her parents to the Higurashi's even though they shouldn't know they were ever separated.

The season had a nice stretch in the middle but it's definitely falling apart at the end. Kirinmaru's character is the biggest victim of this season and Kirin taking the bad guy spot is just awkward, not to mention Rion falling for it so easy.

Never thought I'd be saying this but I miss Naraku.

I'm kinda underwhelmed that the Grim Comet is a Grim Butterfly, I was thinking something more menacing but okay whatever

Well on one hand, I agree with what a lot of you are saying in that Kirin now taking the role of the bad guy was definitely a bad move in itself, along with Rion falling for it so easily. And yes, there were some other things that I really didn’t like or just thought were awkward with this episode.

But what I didn’t see on here, is that last farewell between Towa and Sota and his family. Well they said that it wasn’t a final farewell, but it was nonetheless very heartfelt and sentimental. Plus, Sesshomaru finally waking up was a huge relief to me. Though I didn’t appreciate Kirinimaru wanting to start a fight with him, when there’s all that stuff with the grim comet and green butterfly and all. Wanting to start a fight with him, when there’s all that stuff with the grim comet and grim butterfly and all.

So yeah, I did enjoy the sentimental moments of this episode, but I agree that it definitely needed some work.

Pobre Rion. Yashahime empezó lento en su primera temporada, pero en la segunda ha levantado mucho el nivel. Me alegra no haberlo dejado.

I love yashahime but honestly I’m starting to feel like the series should’ve stayed ended at final act because the writing down the stretch here just hasn’t been the best. It’s like they’re forcing it

Especially the kirin being the big bad and rion essentially willing to sacrifice everyone for her “ideal world”. It’s so antithetical to what had already been established for those characters

Rion reacting to Kirin like that makes sense. Kirinmaru did change for the worst when he lost his horn, and especially that arm that day.

Poor Kirinmaru, his faction sucks so much. He was surrounded by the incompetent Perils, his sister loves Toga, and his body parts and daughter are against his ambitions and now he's been reduced to a mere vassal. I always knew there was a super boss. I initially thought it'd be Riku, I never imagined it'd be Kirin. I was thinking he'd be reabsorbed as soon as he met up with Kirinmaru.

Kirin seriously wants to kill ALL demons? That's not too far off from the ending I cooked up in my head long before I started Season 2. So it's kinda cool to see.

Kirin was a weirdo before but now he's just gone full bananas.

What the hell? Rion did a complete 180 and became "evil" now? Meanwhile, Kirinmaru became a pawn for his right arm. That's shoddy.

Rion was so easy to manipulate. Even told Riku she had no further use for him. Shame.

Before it was a gigantic spider in the sky. Now it's a gigantic butterfly. How history repeats itself in a weird way.

Kirin seems like he has mostly good intentions. But it's hard to tell with his quirky personality and manipulative nature.

Sesshomaru is back in the game. Kirinmaru should still be stronger but Sesshomaru can find a way nontheless. Perhaps a weakness that we haven't heard of?
