 The official website of the Bucchigire! (Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys) original television anime revealed on Thursday the main cast, first key visual (pictured above), and first promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 8 at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by BS11. Cast Ichibanboshi: Gen Satou (Dr. Stone) Sakuya: Shunichi Toki (Tokyo Revengers) Heisuke Toudou: Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Sakugan) Akira: Sumire Uesaka (Overlord) Sougen: Shinichiro Miki (Gintama) Suzuran: Yuuto Uemura (Vinland Saga) Gyatarou: Wataru Takagi (Shuumatsu no Walküre) Bou: Fukushi Ochiai (Hai to Gensou no Grimgar) Tetsuo Hirakawa (Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho) is helming the anime as well as handling the series composition at Geno Studio. Masafumi Yokota (Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito sub-character design) adapts the original character designs from Hiroyuki Takei (Shaman King) and Yasuharu Takanashi (Kengan Ashura) is composing the music. | Looks decent I guess. Main cast is very varied, but not exactly what you’d expect for a samurai centred anime. Definitely some potential but doubt it will deliver in the end. That guy from the start looks very similar to the guy from shaman king. |
| Seeing the full span of designs like that makes them seem rather derivative, and the PV is a bit lacking. Not an complete loss of interest, but certainly a drop. |
