| I think the story loses a lot of it's twist, when presented so directly as a linear show. The cool thing about Shenmue was always the dense world with lots of interaction and reoccurring characters. It was also not taking itself too serious and found a pretty good balance of funny sidequests and more intense main quests. |

| Shenmue's story is fairly basic, its the way its told in game thats cool cause your basically sleuthing to find a lead on where to go without waymarks and have a nifty little notebook that gets updated everytime with useful info. Take that away, I dont think the plot on its own is gonna seem like anything more than a generic Kung Fu film many of which will probably have many direct parallels. It remains to be seen if the anime really ups the theatrics or not but the big problem (in a medium outside of games) is shenmue inherently is so slow-paced there just isn't that much plot development outside of the 2nd game so just about any plot development you are current predicting of where this might go, it might not of even reached the point where it COULD happen cause the franchise kind of got stuck in the set up phase and cut short before that right as things really started moving. I'm pretty much just skeptical this type of story really is all that noteworthy when not told in the interactive fashion it was in the games, and even that front isn't for everyone. |

But besides the basic main plotline, what really made the Shenmue games interesting is the worldbuilding, the large cast of characters populating the game world, and the little side-stories you come across while exploring the game world. Thanks for the sharing! I will definitely play this game series! |

| It had a vintage style way of story telling, I liked it. Kind of wondering if Kujo Jotarou from JoJo and the MC from Shenmue, have similar personalities. |
