| I also found myself thinking about Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer while reading this. It wasn't a bad first chapter, although with some major cliches. But I will read some more chapters to see where this will lead. |
| I know this seems generic to some people but I really found it to be enjoyable despite this. I read other works from this author before, so I really hope that this series ends up being a success. |

| Nothing that blew me away, but I did enjoy the chapter quite a bit Really good art, panelling and a fun dynamic between Dora (am I the only one who finds this name funny?!) and Kusanagi I wonder if the Samurai corps name (Izanagi) and the friendly Mononoke (Kusanagi) are taken from naruto or from other actual mythology But I'm pretty sure the friendly Mononoke is called Kusanagi cuz it might come from Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi which is a legendary Japanese sword, it represents the virtue of valour (quite a fitting name) I'm a bit more iffy on the Samurai force's name cuz, well here's the meaning (I think) behind it: Izanagi and Izanami, (Japanese: “He Who Invites” and “She Who Invites”) in full Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto, the central deities (kami) in the Japanese creation myth. They were the eighth pair of brother-and-sister gods to appear after heaven and earth separated out of chaos they are creators, not protectors so idk, maybe it is a naruto reference Also Mononoke (the monsters) roughly translate to vengeful spirits ALSO ALSO ALSO The monster that killed Dora's mother has the same mark as Kusanagi Kusanagi:  Mom_Slayer_69:  but that might just be a Mononoke thing and not Kusanagis dark past |

| The series almost immediately lost me with the whole "MC has 0% supernatural ability" trope, but the rest of the chapter from there was enjoyable. Certainly very generic, but competently executed. Seems like it could be fun. DerpySven said: Do u guys think this gonna be a anime? Impossible to tell from a single chapter. We'll have a basic idea a couple months from now. | Kaijus, Mononokes and Digimons (I just thought about Data Squad after seeing Kusanagi) can definitely be awesome (although they are no match against Makima, the greatest devil) but this one didn't really do it for me. Artstyle wasn't the worst but I didn't love it either. And think chapter 1 was pretty generic, but okay, everything can change by (in this case) giving a plot twist. |
