I get that some people don't like mech style stuff and this may not be a 10/10 but barely over 5.5? This show deserves way more credit than what it's getting

To me, shows that I rate 5 and 6 are shows that are so boring that i have to force myself to watch another episode and that's why i drop them, but because i havent completed them i cannot rate them any higher or lower than 5 and 6. I gave the show 2 episodes but it was a mess, a bore, mostly focused on the boring mecha stuff even though the world was theoretically interesting, juvenile humour and annoying characters :/ the art style was also a sore on the eyes

I guess other people reacted similarly
obscure anime for u idiots to watch right NOW
1.Odd Taxi WATCH THIS!!!!!
2.LINK CLICK super underrated!! (chinese, foto-time travelling, emotional stories dope music)

Number ratings are stupid, especially when it comes to quantifying something subjective. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer, scientifically speaking.

Honestly, I haven't felt bored while watching this show in a long time, except for maybe a little during episode 4 or 6, but we're way past that point and things have gotten a lot more interesting lately.

All the same, I did enjoy the first couple of episodes, so reading negative opinions like those of sntiago above make me realize that some folks simply have no patience and very different tastes. I can respect that, to a degree, but can't possibly find myself in that position. What I don't understand is why a few people who aren't liking the show are still sticking around.

Which is why I'll just stick my tongue out at the low ratings and keep watching the series. As long as I'm enjoying Back Arrow, the whole world could hate it and that doesn't matter.

Compared to some others shows it doesn't really stand out as a super memorable one. That might be why

I'd say the story telling here is at least better than the majority of seasonals airing right now, it's pretty disappointing. I'm watching about 37 that are currently airing, and only maybe 8 of them I like more.

It's pretty wack and unconventional. I wasn't fond of the first few episodes either. Everything seemed random and almost too stupid. Gotta say that I went in with wrong expectations until I realized that I wasn't in the mood for such a series.

I waited a few weeks and picked it up again. Now I'm enjoying it immensely. It has a nice amount of goofiness, neither does it take itself all seriously. Even the corny moments are charming. If you vibe with all that, then it's also pretty epic in a way. The world is also refreshing compared to the standard isekai fare.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Hmm, I don't know how people who watched this cannot appreciate a good story and I wouldn't even lecture them personally because of it. "They're too uncultured"is the only phrase I could give them. I already imagined most of them voted a lower score for this one because it may not be understandable for new people who watched Mecha Genres these days. *Face Palm*
I've watched many old Mecha Genres and I've enjoyed every bit of them. Whether they're old or new, I love them. We are lacking Mecha fanatic these days. Thankfully, this one is decent when I think about Gundams.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

The real questions is
Why do people rate Anime by only watching 1/2 episodes?

Seriously if most of the people have watched at least up to EP 13. It would have a rating of at least 6 if not more. But you know... haters

Perhaps it's because it's already has low rating at the start of the series. Personally i think some/most people tend to give certain range of rating depends on the current rating they are seeing. At the start i think it was more or less 5.9, so some people rating could be influenced by those rating so they start to give same or perhaps lower rate. It's just my personal opinion tho, it could be wrong. Or maybe, this show is simply not a good match for some watchers/community nowadays taste. So they decide to give this show low rate.

Really, in back arrow case or any related anime, maybe rating is just a number. Eromanga Sensei, Death March, etc have higher rating than Back Arrow, but i prefer Back Arrow over them, even i personally think Back Arrow deserves higher rating than them. As long as you enjoy it, it doesn't matter.

Has nothing to do with being a mecha anime, if it's done well then the rating will be good. There are lots of good rated mecha animes. This is just plain boring.

we will see the score increase when the final episode airs, most ongoing anime after it airs has a score increase due to how MAL compute final scores

but i can see why newer fans do not like this one like it has bad animation (besides the 3DCG scenes) and the storyboard or directing is so bad plus like i said earlier plot oriented shows are scored less here like another example is Godzilla Singular Point that one has too much plot or too much exposition, more people want character driven stories that focuses on character development or character drama more thats why there are more positive reactions about SSSS.Dynazenon but its another 3DCG mecha anime so its scored low too

as expected there is a increase in score after it finished airing due to how MAL computes final scores

so from 5.5 to 6.17 score at the moment

Originals don't get that much recognition bruh unless they are visually appealing. Also maybe the fact the members are so less the scores calculated is also low.

I have no idea. Personally, I was about to drop this show 3 episodes in, but I felt I should stick with it a little longer...I'm glad I did.

It's one of the most interesting mecha I've seen in a long time.

The real reason: Because too many normies have infested the community. Normies who don't understand how to have fun. Normies who expect every series to be Lord of the Rings or Madoka Magika. Normies who want to pretend they're super intellectual by shitting on any series that doesn't meet their ridiculous, often over-inflated standards of pseudo-intellectualism.

Because these normies who invaded our community don't understand how to just HAVE FUN. And that's what this series is; fun. Nothing more, nothing less.

It may desrve more, but I can't critically appreciate this series. It may sound pretencious, elitist, or whatever, but out of pure principal I rated it low. Just as I did with OPM and BNHA.

It's the zoomers who literally only watch anime adaptations, and in 90% of cases, just shounen anime adaptations. Mecha as a genre is just not something this new flux of anime fans have seen or enjoy.

A similar fate befell SSSS Gridman which is rated 7.16 which is hilarious and similarly with Dynazenon

because people want the classic "isekai harem powerful male protaganist that makes girls drool" rather than a well thought-out story with good characters, good pacing, just good everything. Back Arrow is a visual masterpiece and if you rated this below a 9....well....its probably because you're wrong? lol!

For the staff I really, really rooted for this: Nakajima's script, Tanaka's music, Taniguchi's direction.
Sadly, the character design, animation and pacing did the show a really sore to watch. I forced myself into it -just for Nakajima's story that foreshadowed a interesting development- but I couldn't stand it beyond ep 4. Besides the other shows on broadcast were way good on the points this one was lacking hard.

That's too bad, because there's some really cool stuff later. I also didn't have an issue with the animation either. Then again, I'm not spoiled by overly high budget series, since I grew up liking and enjoying a lot of older shows with much more traditional animation and designs, compared to what is popular today.

But whatever, I've already talked enough about the series itself elsewhere. The moral of the story is you should just give people something pretty and they'll continue watching, and if it's not attractive enough, they'll become heartless. No patience, tolerance or understanding will be shown to smaller projects.
