"Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy" resembles "Your Lie in April" if we look at the story. The main character was a famous actor when he was little, and his mother died in an accident, after the death of his mother, he retired from acting. As a child, he met Kachi, who apparently fell in love with him and was motivated to become an actress because of his "selfishness". It's the same with the story in "Your Lie in April", the only different thing is that in this anime it's about music, not acting as in "Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy".

Now that you put it like that, it does awfully resemble Your Lie in April. I don't mind as long as I'm having a good time, and the studio doesn't somehow monumentally fuck the show over, AND if it doesn't have a depressing ending like YLiA :)

I think your lie in april "feel" is more sad compared to it but yeah, I can see the resemblance.

Shigatsu has:: Drama, Music, Romance, School, Shounen. So how is this even comparable?

There isn't too much to compare them. They both have male and female characters, I suppose.

If this show ends up being half as good, they would have done well. It is entertaining enough, but Your Lie in April could be considered a masterpiece in any form of entertainment, this show will be soon forgotten. People were still thinking about Your Lie in April a week or more after the last episode, don't see that happening here.

The genre 'romance' is pretty broad if those two shows can be both included.
