There wasn't much of a cliffhanger, it was a solidly wrapped up ending. However, I think it may due to the amount of hate it may get in the future. I remember seeing multiple videos on how the fact that Langa is canonically gay and has a crush on Reki changes things. If they didn't kiss or get together, it would come across as invalidating towards the LGBTQ+ community like "even though he's gay, he won't get to express that and will just have to settle for a friendship." I don't really know, I'm definitely disappointed that they didn't get together, but I'm not outraged. I'm kind of used to the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in anime at this point, including representation that falls through and isn't really representation (characters called slurs, LGBTQ+ characters can't be together, die, etc.) So we probably won't get a second season, but I won't complain if we do. |

I’m quite disappointed too, however, I believe that if Reki and Langa were to become a couple, many sk8 fans would drop the anime unfortunately :c There have been a handful of anime that represent LGBTQ+ couples in the past, even subtly such was seen in the popular “Yuri!! On ice” and “No.6” for example but as far as sk8 the infinity goes, I think most viewers watch the anime for skateboarding and therefore, adding a relationship would drop viewers. Though, in retrospect it may cause more people to watch this anime due to having an element of boy love. Overall, like you, I’m quite dissatisfied with the un-canonical bond between them but I’m fine with them being seen as good friends too. If this anime were to be continued in either a movie or another season, some more scenes with Reki and Langa would be great! I feel like the whole side story of Adam getting a search warrant or something against him was a bit washed over, but aside from that I would really love a second season in the future - canon Renga or not! |

If most bad animes somehow get a second season, then SK8 will 50/50 get a second season depending on the material season 1 has covered. |

Sk8 isn’t based on a manga. It’s an original anime series. If it has good Blue Rat sales, then the probability of it having a season 2 rises. Or maybe some other statistic is take in, because I don’t know how to judge if a show is widely popular or not for an original anime series. For an adaption, look at the manga sales. |

I know there has been no confirmation, and the first season felt like a complete story, but I really do hope they keep the story going, especially since it seemed to be really popular. |

Go to the FANDOM wiki for LGBTQ characters. 99% of stuff there is accurate and interpreted correctly, and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and regarding it as canon. The things confirming Langa as gay are similarly accepted and portrayed as the kiss scene in Yuri on Ice, if that correlation makes sense. |

Some people say that they kissed there, but I have to disagree as you could definitely see Langa's head go to the side of Reki's and not directly connect like Yuuri and Victor |

a part of me thinks there will be a second season since they're making a manga for it and it's kind of impractical if they're making a manga for a show that's already over, you know? it's still cool to be able to own a physical book copy of sk8 tho :) |

I don’t think so cause the ending didn’t leave off on another cliffhanger. Besides the last episode was super fulfilling. I love that they were able to find their happiness and what makes their heart throb. What Langa said at the end is quite true, it is scary to not know what makes you happy. But the journey of finding it is really fun. Cliche but true. |

Does seem like they finished all the stuff in the first season. The end does not make me wanne see more - though it was a nice show. I'd rather see more of Carole & Tuesday ha ha. |

amara_143 said: a part of me thinks there will be a second season since they're making a manga for it and it's kind of impractical if they're making a manga for a show that's already over, you know? it's still cool to be able to own a physical book copy of sk8 tho :) Not the first time something like this had happened. Anime originals like Mononoke (a spin-off of the anime short-story Bake-Neko), Kill la Kill, FLCL, Space Dandy, Code Geass, Angel Beats, Wolf’s Rain, Cowboy Bebop, Magica Madoka had manga adaptations after the series airs. It isn’t as uncommon as you think it is. And clearly, most of the series I just listed did not have a S2 (mainly because their plot lines concluded). |

If they make a season 2 let there be some serious plot this time with tricks tournament because skating is now an olympics sport and i want to see some female skaters too. |
