So I went into this expecting something actually good, since there is loads and loads of hype floating around this, but. I got is just another cliche scenario except this time its alot darker, I mean I shouldn'tve expected anything (storywise) when going into a hentai but there was so much hype around this I actually expected something this time but dam, I really didn't expect this to be that bad, like this is plain garbage.

I ask you dear reader. What is so special about this? This story is so terrible that you, yes YOU can even write this, even if you have never touched literature in your entire life, heck you can even write a story that is MILES better than this. Then why is this hyped? I really have no clue

This fails miserably as a fap material (despite the good art) and as a plot (being the same sex addiction cliche except for the ending which lazy) I really don't shit on hentais generally because they're not meant to be taken seriously but when this one actually tried it just failed terribly , yikes.

I can go on and on and on on how terrible this is but I guess you understand it's really uneeded

metamorphosis' plot is realistic and only slightly exaggerated but thats 2 be expected because it's a doujinshi , also it's not intended to be fap material like if u fap to this shit ur sick ..

the fourth review pretty much summarizes my opinions about this hentai.
It isn't, in fact, "deep" or "realistic". Unless you think that every person that saki comes across somehow being a piece of shit and a rapist is realistic. Everyone is pure evil, literally every single person and background character, except for Saki herself, of course. The horrid events portrayed, like rape, are drawn and portrayed as fap material, and there are certainly many people who fapped to this.

This is like #im14andthisisdeep material, but much much worse. Basically, people finding "depth" in a hentai that just utilizes shocking, sensitive and horrible topics for fap material. Which is bleh. But I guess can see why people will like it, because it's "unique" within it's genre. Not really but sure.

I'm pretty open-minded with explicit and twisted topics. But they are usually conveyed with some semblance of depth and delicacy. I almost feel nothing for Saki and what happens to her, because it was just so damn unrealistic. The actual path she took (the whole being reliant on drugs, becoming a prostitute, etc) is not unrealistic, it's a tragic thing that does happen. It's the execution that lacks realism and nuance. So I think I very well understand what the hentai is "trying to imply", but it definitely does it extremely crudely to the point I can't take it seriously or have any reflective afterthoughts (other than me thinking how I hated it lol).

People are really getting offended at a work of art like metamorphosis, this is not fap material, it just pisses me off how people will say that "this author is a sick fuck" when in reality its just a fucking story, and if you want a better understanding of the author then watch the anime mans video called "i got to interview my favorite hentai artist".

i agree people shouldn't criticize authors when they don't like their work.
But people did take it as fap material. Literally the most helpful review mentioned that they fapped to most of it. Meaning they are fapping to saki being raped and abused, which may not have been the author's intention, but it was still drawn as hentai and has many traits of hentai.
I'm not offended at metamorphosis. Rather, I'm let down at the promise of psychological and depth that everyone seemed to be raving about.

It's a 12 years-old deep wet dream in general. It is mostly overhyped, because at the time it was one of those "oh no, they didn't" things that got some readers with too much fantasy a big dumpster fire to watch. Because in the end this is Misery the Manga. I don't get why this being "like" a doujinshi makes it any better, because in the end everything will probably pull from the same book of tropes, so it can be at best the best mix of the same shit, but that only makes it unique in the sense that's it from a different author. The fact that there aren't as much manga out there as this is probably due to it being niche and that will also give it that "niche-exclusivity" and "underdog"-status.
But this is all just a side-effect of hype and I guess that more people will talk about it than actually reading (or paying) for it, so it will stick around. Could actually see this getting an anime adaptation. Not just because the anime industry is desperate for viewers and this already has a lot of attention, but they are also pretty lax on child prostitution and pedo-stuff recently (actually all the time, shit's creepy)

The story could've been something, but it has all these hentai tropes like everyone being a rapist and MC being addicted to sex and I just can't take it seriously for that. Everything is just so over-the-top and there's no subtlety.

I could brush this all aside because it's just porn, but tons of people were hailing it as the magnum opus of hentai, and after reading it I was sorely let down.

I agree with Lovlis, aizawaburrito, and Dream_END's comments. Everyone who hypes this up is probably just a bunch of emotionally immature teenagers who gobble up shallow stories like these.

I agree with you, this thing was trash imo, especially the ending. I heard because of the backlash and how people felt after reading it, the author introduced a panel with the main character in one of his works, saying that the MC was just a p*rn actress and the others actors, and they were filming a p*rn movie, and nothing actually happend.

I dont understand how people feel so bad for the girl, she literally is the centerpiece for why every single thing happens with her and she is at fault. She is just horny and dumb and the guys are all just horny too, everyone is horny on this hentai, it just so happens that she gets to engage in horny stuff with other horny guys that eventually just dump and treat her badly. Also no one forced her to do any of the stuff she engaged herself with, it is impossible to feel pity for a character like that (irl i also think the same).

As a serious deep story like everyone paints it to be? It isnt at all, there is nothing to "get" from it, but as hentai? It has some spicy scenarios that work well for what it intends to be, not a bad hentai and the art is good, but still not much to it aside from being an interesting novelty. I dont find it pathetic, it is just nothing to seriously consider as something to regard highly as some kind of lecture. If any lecture can be gotten from it, it is: Dont do horny stuff with shady guys that will screw you over, dont sell yourself in such a unsafe manner and dont take drugs others offer you that easily, pretty barebones stuff that is only not followed if the person is dumb, like the protagonist herself. I dont think it fails at being fap material speaking of the mc too.

@INoLuv That is mainly on the author, so I read this with the same thought in mind, that this is gonna be some masterpiece or at least serve the psychology tag some justice, I don't really read hentai, however decided to give this a chance since I thought it's gonna be something more than just well sex? I'm convinced this is just made for fap material only, it's overrated, the author doesn't serve the "rape scenes" justice, literally it was made so romanticised and for what? This doesn't deserve the "psychology" tag, it's dark hentai at best, the reason why you probably didn't feel much empathy for her is because the author focuses on the sex only, for a piece of media that was praised well on it's psychology heavily topic themes that were "done well", I expected to be shown with a chapter or at least some scenes with her having a breakdown, making us see how this type of "job" affects a person, however the author just basically was like nahhh imma add rape sex major character appearance change then sex again, and to make this more "deep" to the viewers, lets add a child too!I feel like this was the author's thoughts while making this,didn't even show us how womanhood is so damn hard especially since she ended up pregnant while selling herself,and we didn't see how getting raped affected her, legit would neved get why this was so praised, plus the author also made sure to take the pregnancy as a chance to "fetishism" it,I obviously don't expect for the author to go in depth since its just a hentai and shouldn't be taken seriously, however he wanted it to be seen as something more than that, which is laughabe considering he brushed off everything that happens to her with sex,overall completely garbage in psychology aspects and handling serious themes, maybe not so garbage to the dudes who will goon over anything.
