----------------------------------------
Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter talking about her teacher. It was when she is about to end her training and facing strong monster for the first time. He doesn't want her to use the power to defeat that monster.

It turns out he knows the debt guy, and he used her to plan to release that monster that Kagome sealed and return his debt. This is why she is in debt (training in replacing of her teacher).

He appeared again after missing. He met one of the enemies during his solo trip to what he wants. He wants a key but that enemy wants her head. He still teach her to be strong on her own and not use the power.

The key was to undo the curse that the tricked a mouse given when she used the power once.

At last, she was able to use the skill he wanted her to learn. He pretended to follow the enemy to get the key, but he was tricked again and got killed by her skill.

It seems like they got trapped into a place w. FukuJun's character next.

Finally Moroha's backstory and that was quite amusing. Poor girl went through a lot lol.

RIP Yawaragi, she was a great sensei to Moroha and Moroha is who she is cause of her.

The end part after they buried Moroha's teacher was so nostalgic. Moroha more or less said the same thing Inuyasha did to Kagome and as Towa and Setsuna reassured Moroha she realised just like her father she is not alone anymore. Without her knowing it these two are by her side now.
It's so sad When Moroha told that she wasn't a human or a demon not even a half demon. Man Inuyasha will be so sad that his daughter is living his life

Moroha gets the spotlight just like she deserves. But other than shedding some more light on Moroha's backstory and giving her a bit of development and new move, this episode was pretty meh.

The OP pretty much spoiled Yawaragi's death and it was pretty easy to see where this was going the second Konton told Yawaragi to kill Moroha.

But the moment between the girls at the end was nice. These three interacting with each other continues to be the one of the few good things about this show.

Still turning the story back in time, except that it's interesting with Moroha's growing-up times with the Koga clan, with Master Yawaragi...a teacher who can't gamble well. And what a huge debt left behind with Jyubei, to be returned through bounty hunting...so that's why.

Her affiliation with the Four Perils' Konton is as much as an exchange deal of a showdown between master and pupil. And by using her rouge, she's essentially a down-sized Inuyasha, albeit without control. At least, learns are learnt for the quarter-demon through hell bent and black, life and death.

I'd admit that this episode felt like it started and ended just as quick...which has always been a good thing about the OG series.

To quote someone's comment about this episode:
Upside: Finally, a Moroha episode with her backstory and character building.
Downside: Too lukewarm and should be in a two-parter for more detail and lacks impact.
Upside: More nostalgia based off the original series.
Downside: A nerfed Tessaiga reference.
Upside: The animation seems to stay consistent.
Downside: Story seems to be all over, not getting to the main points, and being rushed.

"What the fuck?" is the probably how I would describe this episode overall lol.

I feel like I missed an entire episode when I watching this, why the fuck did the trio suddenly meet Moroha's master in the beginning of the episode without any buildup on how such event happened? You could says it was Konton's plan but that doesn't explain how the episode begins at such a weird place (As if it doesn't connect well with how EP14 and EP15 ended). Everything in this episode felt so forced and this episode seemly expect me to turn off my brain in order to enjoy it (And how stupid Moroha's master acts throughout the episode). I barely feel emotional when Moroha's master died and Moroha's breakdown.

Some great messaging in this Moroha focused episode. Her master Yawaragi telling Moroha not to rely on hee rouge so much, don't give into fear when things look rough. Yawaragi even when facing the prospect of being crushed by that cursed armor didn't let it effect how she taught Moroha. Getting to see some flashbacks to younger Moroha training was awesome. Filling in what she was up to before this main story began, going through that crucible with Yawaragi trying to teach her to conquer her fear. That lesson of no matter how strong you are one can always use their head to work out a situation instead of giving into fear. I love what Setsuna said to Moroha at the end after the bastard Konton showed up and basically killed Yawaragi with his switcheroo. Her saying that no matter what his you live us up to you, and you can always change that way of life if you want to. We have the freedom and willpower to do that.

How am I suppose to care about a certain character with too little screentime plus a barebone backstory that shows little to nothing about her relationship with Moroha (Let alone the master's character/personality)? Hell, even the youkai twin brother's death from earlier episodes felt way more emotional and they shows way more character and relationship than the master did throughout the episode despite how bland they were.

Just like the flashback episode, this needs at least two episodes to covers more stuffs, so the story doesn't felt like something's missing and the master's death would have way more impact than what we got here.

I appreciate the Moroha spotlight and I got all the feels off this backstory...but man the directing is so all over the place right now that it feels like we're getting half-assed content for the story right now. Like it goes beyond just being a rushed feeling, it's just half-assed at this point. 8 left to go, I wonder where this series is gonna go to avoid being a total train wreck.

Moroha backstory was very much needed especially after the previous episode.

Yawaragi seemed like a nice teacher I only wish we had more time to get to know her and probably a more lengthy backstory to make her death more impactful emotionally. The pacing is just too fast. This really isn't the type of plotline that needs to be fit into a 'monster of the week' themed episode.

Sadly the messages Moroha's master bring out and Moroha's character development doesn't save this episode from being confusing at the beginning lol.

For me, I will keep the show on hold for a while until maybe when the anime is about to end.

Lmao now that the SJW outrage over the already OBVIOUS relationship between Rin and Sesshomaru, we can finally move on and talk about the show.

Good episode today. Yawaragi really cared about Moroha and was the closest thing to a parent she had growing up. We needed a Moroha backstory ep badly. It was obvious she wouldn’t kill her student to survive. Can’t wait to see Konton get taken out.

The girls in general have grown so much and it’s great to see how close their relationship has become.

I don't really understand the confusion around how this episode started. The very first line is Moroha saying something to the effect of "let me explain how we got here" then the rest of the episode explains it. Everything we need to understand the episode is in the episode itself. My only issue with this episode is the same as last week's, in that it really could have benefited from being 2 episodes.

Damn...Yawaragi turned out to be such a wasted character. She shouldn't have died for just the sake of a sad backstory for Moroha.

Some story on Moroha's sword itself would have been cool because as of now it's heading to the direction that it's just a copy paste of Tessaiga which is not a sword you can just whip up randomly. (with her learning the backlash wave) Could it be made from Inuyasha's fang? It's really bugging me. lol

Glad to see people finally acknowledging the god-awful pacing of this show. This shit just keeps getting worse and worse! Like seriously, who the fuck is writing this show?! How am I supposed to care about this ostensibly important "shishou" character when the series is well past halfway over, and we learn about her through a half-assed flashback? And then they give us this bullshit showdown, like HOW are they just going to squeeze everything into 21 minutes and call it a day? Especially when there's maybe 2 or 3 minutes TOPS of actual action, with lackluster animation to boot. I don't want to learn about these super important characters through a cop-out flashback like last episode... is it too much to ask to have some damn exposition?

The writers are clearly stuck in fluffed-up, bloated 200+ episode shounen from the early 2000's mode, and that shit just doesn't fly anymore. The whole diatribe at the end where they learn the moral would have actually been nice if I had the chance to develop any sort of emotional connection to Yawaragi. I really tried my best, too. But she was written so fucking stupidly, like she's obviously capable enough to have been entrusted with Moroha by Koga, and strong enough to brush off Crimson Dragon Wave like it's nothing (when we've already seen how it can destroy demons of a certain power level), but suddenly she's gonna fall for some stupid trick for some cursed armor just to move the plot along? Like how fucking half-assed can you get. And I get they tried to push the whole like rough around the edges, lion-pushing-her-cub-off-the-cliff vibe with her selling Moroha to Jyubei, but to force that into there when everything else is already way too rushed is just beyond contrived.

Just goes to show that anime fans will STILL willingly slurp up any bullshit the industry shits out, as long as they can get their nostalgia fix. At this point, there's no denying this is veritably a 5.5/10.

Couldn't agree more between the awuful pacing, lack of direction and farfetch explanations it is laughfable that some people still think this show is so good to stand on its own, specially when the best episodes are the ones where the old cast are involved.

Moroha's background was interesting A lot was stolen directly from things Inuyasha said about being a hanyou only he was able to accept himself as a hanyou thanks to Kagome. They reused the Kodoukou from Inuyasha and the backlash wave. The rouge is similar to the test IY went through when Tessaiga broke and he could not hold back his demon blood. Sad to see her master die but at least she passed all his tests

Hm mixed feelings about this episode

I appreciate the fact that Moroha finally got some shine after being sidelined in 13,14, she deserves it tho shes awesome :)
The Kodoku Inuyasha reference was whatever, I felt like we couldve gotten something else but I guess I'm here for it

But why did they have to harp on Moroha's 1/4 demon geneology? Setsuna and Towa deal with the discrimination of being hanyo anyways. if someone is anything but 100% yokai then they will face bad treatment. lmao so why exemplify Moroha and make a whole big ass thing out of it? shes so cheeky lmao, this the first (and prolly last) time we'll see her struggle with her "existential complex"
The back story developed and resolved too quickly, like we got a taste of Moroha's past but not enough to really savor anything
Her shishou got some damn nerve tryna teach her lessons n shit now after the bitch done sold her off for money smh (and we will ignore the fact that her shishou fights using enhanced power lol) she died a bozo anyways serves her right lmao
Moroha just needs to walk away from Jyubei's nonsense, Yawaragi's dead now lol

I did like the trio's little moment in the end
"You choose how you want to live" - I loveeeee Setsuna

P.S.- Did ya'll know that Yawaragi's a woman? I didnt realize 'til half-way in LOL

Have to agree with a lot of the comments, this episode could have been much more impactful but it felt too rushed. Yawaragi was introduced, we got a fragment of backstory, and then she died and Moroha teared up and then immediately got over it.

I loved the idea of the armor constricting the chest slowly leading to death unless you find a key. That could have been pursued as an adventure much more interesting than what we've gotten so far, like there could have been one last surviving rat that had left the village before the attack and the girls had to find it to make a new key. Not really sure where the show is going if it's basically just going to be more random demon fights from here on out.

Yawaragi's gambling "problem" was pretty funny. And I guess she was like a mother-figure for Moroha in Kagome's absence. It's a little sad when we barely got to know her to only die at the end of one single episode...It'd be a lot more sad if only they didn't somewhat spoil her end in the 2nd opening (even if it for just a second), so I more or less knew she was going to die as soon as they introduced her.

Whelp, that takes care of Moroha's backstory, and her reason for being in debt.

Now I wonder where Koga and Ayame are...

Why would Koga give Moroha to Yawaragi; who has a problem with gambling, and not rise her himself, since you know Kagome and Inuyasha are his friends.

The pacing of the show is a bit weird that is true. For episode 15 some people had the theory that it wasn't originally planned like that. Maybe some big boss came in and said "We're losing viewers, you gotta reveal the backstory now!".

Wow, this story should have been atleast 2 episodes long.
For 15 episodes of absolutely nothing, it's normal for the audience to think that things have started getting better.
But the truth is the plot is still pretty bad.
Also Moroha's teacher design was awful.

Highly, highly unlikely. Animation is an extensively time-consuming process. Everything is decided well before it's actually animated. And from what I've understood, Anime productions start with the animation first, unlike western animation. You really can't add last minute changes to animation. Ep 15 was probably intended to be as it is.

Since when does Moroha "lose it" when turning into Beniyasha? Has that been adressed before? Cause neither I nor the friend I watch this show with remember something like that.

So the shishou... (I don't even remember her name, I know it starts with a "Y", let's call her "Yowamushipedal-shishou")... So Yowamushipedal-shishou appears out of nowhere, they throw us that lame 5-min flashback which has no impact whatsoever, and then she dies and we're supposed to feel... sad?
The writing on this show, I swear to god...

Nice to finally get a Moroha episode, but the writing sure leaves a lot to be desired. Kind of an understatement, honestly. Couldn't stop laughing at the guy with the armor showing up at the perfect time. And of course Moroha's master just goes along with it. Sheesh. This is all the writers could come up with to get from point A to point B?

Moroha deserved better.

Yes! Was totally reminiscing about the same things Inuyasha said as Kagoshima walks away with her bike. And just like that....... <3

I wonder where Koga and Ayame were in all of this. They were the ones who were supposed to raise Moroha in Kagome and Inuyasha’s absence, right?

Yawaragi looks like a man(just like Towa,) introduced for the first time and died on the same day. I don't feel sorry she died because I barely know her character.

Every woman needs a rouge! πŸ’„

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!
