When you need a quick war in your fictional mecha anime, you can always count with the Middle East for the job xD It's good, not great neither amazing (felt like a long OVA instead of a full movie) BUT considering all the short interactings between Lelouch and the the rest of the cast, it makes like a pretty great epilogue to the series without doing anything controversial. I understand this movie is technically a sequel to the retcon ones but honestly the only change that differs from the series is Shirley's existence and that is all (also she just appear so little in the movie to make any real contribution to the plot) so it is worth to watch even if the beginning differs of your personal conclusion about R2's finale. |

Pretty designs. OK story. Solid 7. The problem is nothing quite matches the fun and intelligence of R1. It’s a good set of characters to play with. Wouldn’t be a terrible series to reboot. Just stick to the original r2 plan instead of all the gundam memes. I definitely wish we had more time with the characters though the power creep risks making things boring at points. |

Can someone explain me what happened in the end? It felt like Lelouch is living in the C world or something but I can be mistaken. I feel bad for those who are critizising it , like wtf , did they expect Lelouch to die again or something? |

This film was alright but it really felt unnecessary. Especially if this is just going to be a one off, after reintroducing these characters I am left feeling unsatisfied, too many of these characters are left hanging especially Kallen and Shirley (did I miss something how is she still alive?) with Lelouch. I want to give this a 7/10 given its fun enough but my sense of frustration really makes that hard. |

Super underwhelming film, feels more like a money grab. Whole cast interaction felt unnatural. |

It was a good movie but not nearly as good as what the series brought us, which is to be expected from a 2 hour film. I dont think I'll see this as an actual sequel to the series, which was already confirmed to be an alternate timeline but I had a lot of hopes I could, sadly the movie didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was absolutely great seeing Lelouch and the crew again I still don't understand the significance of having Shirley alive as opposed to being dead. Even if it's an alternate timeline where Mao doesnt appear and her father lives ... all she did was bring Lelouch to safety, which anyone could have done. Didnt enjoy how easy it was for a conflict to exist so easily with Nunnally being captured. Felt kinda cheap but I guess it was the simplest way to get Lelouch back. That said, it was definitely entertaining, it was nice seeing Lelouch be a strategist again together with C.C. Loved the bit with Lelouch calling himself L.L. from now on and it's clear from the ending they're trying to make more movies / series. 8/10 - |

Pretty mixed feelings about this movie, to be frankly honest. They should've come up with two movies or a cour of episodes instead, that's how much content there appeared to be squeezed in here. As such, the second half was prone to a lot of awkward cuts and transitions which really didn't help the cause, in my honest opinion. For one thing, being the avid C.C. x L.L. shipper that I'm, I was content with the development of this particular relationship though but it's a little sad the other potential ships were axed (Kallen's clearly for one followed by Shirley) as a result. I won't deny I would have loved to see a bit more casual conversations between the two, I can be a selfish person y'know, but that's not exactly possible in this format so a pity, a real pity indeed. Story-wise, this was pretty standard and nothing too impressive honestly. Nunally and Suzaku captured within the first 5 minutes of the movie was to be expected, as hinted from the trailers and promotional videos in advance, but still felt a little cheap of sorts. Villains weren't anything to write home about either, they just felt like devices to make the protagonists seem more heroic. I was expecting Shario to be more of a challenge too plus a user of a certain Geass (apparently that eye wear was just .. misleading/clickbait though) but I suppose he was just too busy with Suzaku for the entire final battle, which is amazing in a sense on the contrary. Shamna, on the other hand, seemed to be a lot more competent and tricky to counter. Quite the useful Geass too, unlike Kenjirou Tsuda's character whose Geass proved to be useless in the grand scheme of things, hence making it interesting to see how Lelouch came up with the method to battle her by relying on C.C.'s resistance to Geass. And a enticing trap to confirm a few things to top it off, now that's the Lelouch we know and love! Props to C.C. for forcing him straight. Eternal Sleep though, that sure is one arrogant command xD. Nothing beats a gamble paying off, right Lelouch? As for our cast of characters, nothing new emerging except for the main duo. Lelouch appeared to be a lot more humble this movie but we got a fair share of his overconfident side too so nothing to complain about. A lot more forgiving and uncaring too which is no surprise really considering he's already achieved the goal of his life previously. As for the others, I was looking forward to seeing how certain characters would react to Lelouch's revival but, truth be told, I was a little let-down. Cornelia's reaction in particular plus many others just felt so .. off, really. He's the man that's been manipulating a whole bunch of you for a long time, y'know. Kallen's mixed reaction was a treat to watch though, I've to say. Gah, why did they leave her hanging in the end, damn it! Banzai to more Satoko-san content too, interestingly she was the first to notice puppet Lelouch too. Suzaku's first greeting was no surprise either, he really is the same as ever. Good that he shared a different perspective later on, lol. But hey, it was fantastic to see all the characters again after such a long time and I'll always be down for more! Now, this wouldn't be complete unless we touch on Shirley however. Just one darn role which could've been played by anyone else. I'm convinced now that the whole reason why she was revived was because they didn't have enough time to include her bit during the recap movies. Funnily, even the Pres got more screentime than her lol. At least they included a shot of her in the endcards, which I'm assuming is when Lelouch finally gives her a call. Sadly, Dr. Lloyd x Miss Cecile (finally at long last!) was my pick of the cards though. Not nearly enough Kaguya too! Man, I was looking forward to their interaction as well. How sweet of her to fill in on Lelouch on the big marriage though. Hopefully, she won't be sidelined like this in future projects. Clothing choices plus new Knightmare designs for the movie was quite intriguing too, in my opinion. C.C. and Lelouch's almost-wedding like clothes in the end was the highlight for me followed by Kallen's tinge of Arabic and Indian mix. Well done, Clamp! On the other hand, the increase in notch of the Knightmare designs were a nice sight. CGI use was hardly jarring so I'd no issues with that but somehow the battles didn't seem to be as engaging as the tv series, I don't know maybe it's because of the stark difference in quality of the knightmares and the users. Animation quality overall was really good but not exactly remarkable, but the cinematography was on-point (as you'd expect from Sunrise). I've seen a lot of people unclear about Lelouch's revival and that's perfectly reasonable considering they intentionally left aplenty of things vague and untouched. Appreciated how both Lelouch and Shamna were similar on this front in the sense that they both had a Code and a usable Geass by the looks of it. As for Lelouch, the Code of his came from Charles and therefore he could still use his Geass, as testament to a "new power" attained as hinted in the movie. As to why C.C. couldn't bring his conscience is because Lelouch had previously destroyed God (or the collective human unconsciousness) making it hard for her to access the World of C. Using that Gate from Zilkhstan, she almost managed to reclaim Lelouch but then Charles and Marianne seemed to obstruct her. Despite that, however, Lelouch still managed to regain back his self. Also, it was Euphy and Rolo apparently that saved Lelouch and Nunally later on, I've heard that was confirmed from the creators in a roundabout way (can't remember exactly how but I found it somewhere on reddit). Makes sense why he'd say "again", on that note. I can buy this honestly but the other references to the World of C didn't really make too much sense, from Shamna's perspective that is. Originally a future-seeing Geass but hampered thanks to Lelouch Zero Requiem Plan, just like her country's economy, is pretty much all I really understood. I'm totally unclear on what the horrific scene of her during Shario's death was supposed to signify but I suppose that was just a short display of the despair she felt at the time. Needing Nunally just because she's most likely to share Charles' line of thought (or whatever it was) is just .. okay whatever, at best. Got to give credit to her for taking on that role between life and death in that nothingness state though, she really does care for her country and family. Ohgi and Tamaki wondering if what they did was right was a really nice touch of realism too, Lelouch's peace at the end of the day was just make-up peace and there'd obviously be nations suffering from this and this Zilkhstan just happened to be one of the more prominent examples. My favourite moment of the movie, much like many, goes to the final bit confirming L.L. x C.C. She really is self-centered, isn't she? Seeing her squeeze her little teddy bear and saying rubbish, I just wanted Lelouch to hug her forcefully or something of the sort but thankfully we got something just as good. And C.C. approved the proposal, god her response in addition was brilliant! Smiling, blushing and a little embarrassed compiled all together, great stuff! Off they go to discover, explore and perhaps live on as Geass Contractors holding hands. Condolences to Nunally but his very existence is supposed to have perished so there's no helping that. Lelouch taking up the role of Zero again was a bloody amazing scene overall too. Additionally, that rock-y soundtrack just made it all the more hype-worthy! Speaking of the soundtrack, I couldn't spot many new tracks but the tv series itself was great in this aspect and the timing and usage of a few of those here was great! "Revive, Revive, Revive" - clearly the ED themes for this movie and the Oudou movie are meant to reflect on Lelouch and I honestly really like that. On a similar note, voice acting has always been fabulous for the series and this is no exception too. I'm glad that this movie managed to succeed over in Japan and here's to hoping this'll encourage Sunrise to make more Code Geass content. Initially, I didn't want this movie to be made honestly but since they've already made this, might as well make more y'know. All in all, I'm disappointed but it was still fairly enjoyable. I'll be a little harsh and give this a 7/10 but I'm curious to see if they'll continue this story since they've pretty much effectively opened up a few potential story options. I'm guessing if they do, Lelouch and C.C. are going to have to play a secondary role at best, judging from the after-credit scene, but anything from this franchise gives! - Storyline/Plot Development: 5.50/10 - Characterization: 7.50/10 - Art/Animation Quality: 8.00/10 - Sound Department/Soundtrack: 8.50/10 - Voice Acting Department: 9.00/10 - Personal Enjoyment: 8.00/10 => Overall: 7.25/10. A little empty now too... Guess I'll just tune in on NE:ONE and .. empty myself further, lol. Edit: Sure wrote a lot, didn't I? I just couldn't stop writing once I got in my groove lol, and managed to spend a good 2-3 hours as a result (4-5 hours in total including watching the movie). Code Geass has been one of my favourites for years now so felt a little compelled to cover as much as possible and relay my opinions and thoughts on them. Actually, I finished the movie earlier today (2 am or so) but decided to rewatch bits and pieces before posting this so left it for later after waking up. But then, I ended up going through a lot of forums and youtube vids on speculations and the sort so naturally flooded my mind with a lot of stuff. |

Not really as impressive as R2 but still, it was a pretty decent movie regardless. To be honest, I was expecting that he's revival would made a bigger impact, I mean getting the world spook again or something. Well I do love his entrance at the ruin and the part where Suzaku became more sentimental..... but the rest were meh..... I guess the part with Nunally was actually kinda okay. There's gonna be a sequel for LL right? |

This was actually much better than I expected it would be. It isn't on the level that R1 nor R2, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the Akito movies either. It's actually good enough to be considered canon, which is just crazy, considering again, all five Akito movies were shit. This movie was basically just Code Geass without the 2000 IQ big brain mind games. The animation was incredible in every department except for the Knightmares, which are sadly now CG. However, character movements were fluid and lifelike, with some rotoscoped movements hidden here and there. The soundtrack was awesome, and we even got a banger of ED too. The story was mostly predictable and fell a bit flat, but Shamna with her Geass made a very interesting development and was enjoyable while it lasted. Characters weren't necessarily as deep as they were in R1 and R2, but seeing everyone once again was still nice and nostalgic. And, I wasn't bored enough to start browsing Reddit during the movie, which is a huge plus. 8/10. Story: 7/10 Art: 9/10 Sound: 8/10 Characters: 8/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Raw score: 8/10 Final score: 8/10 To see how I believe this show stacks up against other anime I have seen, click here. |

I enjoyed reading all the mix reviews on this movie. Personally, Code Geass is my ultimate favorite. Whatever they release I'll probably love it the way I loved the movie. I just can't wait for the 10 year plan for L2 and C2. I'm happy with the original series, and I'm happy with the new timeline. I just want more Lelouch to be honest. |

Pretty exciting see Lelouch back again, but to be honest. I anticipated this back on 2011, (about May-June) when i finished Code Geass for the 2nd time, (first and only complete rewatch). The ending was clear to me, he died, in fact, but he revived, as the character who gives sense to the title of the work, he's the only person known to have both Code & Geass active at the same time, being able to use both of them. I'm not gonna lie, i'm one of those who preferred the perfectly (IMHO) self-concluding R1 + R2 (the original anime), but well, it hasn't been bad. Ironically, what i said in my theory about the Code Geass R2 ending, has been totally explicit here, the two actual wielders of the immortal Code, parting together for a mission that will probably take them to travel for the whole world, it's not exactly as i predicted to be the reality at R2 ending, (i thought and said that they'd be "simply" traveling through the world forever or until they would establish at some quiet place, avoiding Lelouch to be discovered, although with Lelouch's Geass, that shouldn't be a problem, really). In general, good animation, the OST, well, i really prefer the original one from the original anime, although they reused some themes/songs, but nice. I also read about that Fukkatsu is just the start for a Code Geass 10 years plan, so i'll be waiting for what they're going to offer us, but i have to say the truth, i really think this film and everything that will come after R2, it's just another way to make more money with a story/work that was already concluded, and greatly concluded. I can't say farewell other way than the legendary and more timely than ever, ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!! ALL HAIL LELOUCH!! ALL HAIL CODE GEASS!! Bests to all ^^. |

Uhm, average movie. I was looking forward to it but in the end, it felt like a side story/special instead of a sequel to the movies: Save Nunally, done. They should've stopped with the recap movies. I don't understand why those were even necessary, I've seen people saying that Resurrection follows the movies instead of the TV series but I'm pretty sure the producers could've fit Resurrection into the TV anime... Everything about the production was good. 5/10 |

Perfect end to a really good movie, ending how it started with Lelouch and CC on the road. Well worth the wait, and while it would've been nice to have had more Villetta (although Cornelia's scenes, the wedding footage and picture drama-esque end credits make up for it), it was still great seeing the cast and characters back together (also seeing the scenes between Lelouch, Suzaku, CC and Kallen are always awesome since pretty much all of them are OTP for me). Sorta felt like a long Code Geass episode too writing-wise, which was definitely a plus. Looking forward to seeing more Geass from Sunrise! The end looked interesting too, could be setting up the next instalment (with a hint towards the story and/or setting based on the clothing). Solid 8/10 |

A decent sequel for a series that never really needed a sequel. I love Lelouch's return after he got his memories back. The classic kill yourself never gets old. I would've liked more interaction with Lelouch after everything that happened. Kallen breaking down was pretty emotional to watch at least. I don't really understand the point of bringing Shirley back when she had almost zero role in the movie. That was an op ability Shamna had. Almost felt a bit convenient that Lelouch still managed to win in the end. |

Honestly, as C.G is my go to Anime when I refer it to people, I'm pissed, this movie was a piece of garbage. Nothing more, the explanation with C.C for Lelouch, Shirley alive and all of them not asking a single questions to Lelouch. Wtf ? Even Nina or Suzaku didn't say anything bad towards him, he literally killed your girl Suzaku, how can you not be mad and instead say "The world is better when you're here Lelouch" ??? Even though this is considered an "alternative ending" it's pretty bad to destroy everything the serie created before. This is sad. C.C is solid 10/10 though. Visuals were gorgeous too. 5/10 |

7/10 The lack of Arthur, Orange Boy and Pizza Hut was disappointing. But in all seriousness, I have heard so many conflicting reports about the new Code Geass film that I had a generally idea what to expect. Though the sub came out a couple of months ago, I waited eagerly for the dub to be released because that's how I watched the show and it is one of the best dubs out there. Code Geass has and always will have a special place in my heart. It was one of the first anime shows that I have ever watched and for the longest time it was my favourite series untill Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Attack on Titan came along. One of the biggest reasons why I love the show is because it has what is in my opinion not just one of the best endings to an anime series but one of the greatest conclusions to a story in general. And the very idea that they would make a sequel after delivering what is arguably the perfect conclusion seemed pretty pointless. It's like doing a follow up to Breaking Bad with a story that serves as an epilogue more than anything....oh wait! We did get that. It was called El Camino and against all odds it turned out to be better than we could have ever anticipated it to be. So I went into Resurrection with very low expectations and hoping to come out of it feeling unscathed or not robbed of that incredible ending. And I got to say much like El Camino, it is better than we ever thought it would be. Not certainly great and nowhere close to being as good as the show but beggars can't be choosers here. I gotta say it was kind of nostalgia to return to this world in particular for some new content even if it is completely unnecessary and I probably would have lived peacefully without it. Whether this film turned out to be good or not, I am happy that the creators decided to set this story in an alternative universe as it was the best precaution one could take to preserve that beautiful ending. All I knew going on from the changes made in the recap films where that Shirley was alive and the entire mini-arc with Mao never happened in this timeline. But after watching this film, I don't understand why they bothered to make Shirley alive in the first place as she really doesn't do a single thing in this film. The only contribution that she gives to this film happens off-screen and it is something that happens even before the movie ever happened. You could have just replaced that role with any other character in this movie and it would have remained more or less the same. The plot for the most part is okay. There is a lot that I couldn't understand but that really comes with the territory when dealing with this series. I just went along for the most part and hoped everything would be made clear by the end. Somethings does and some don't. The animation has certainly improved with that movie budget though some of the body movements felt rather clunky during the first half. Coming to the dub, what can I say it felt so good hearing these familiar voices again and they did a great job casting the newer characters. Though Johnny Yong Bosch's voice feels more different than before but I guess that's going to happen considering it's been over 10 years since he last voiced this character. There are still things about this unneeded but frankly enjoyable sequel that doesn't work. The villains are very forgettable though they did pose a good threat and I generally didn't have an idea how Lelouch was going to resolve the storyline with them. Coming to Lelouch, they do some things differently with him that I didn't think they would and I quite enjoyed it. Some of the pacing do feel rather muddled at times. You can certainly see that this was supposed to be a full season that was diluted down to a two hour film. But I do have this feeling that maybe this movie might have benefited from being a 25 or even 13 episode show. There were so many moments in this film that feels rushed and I wouldn't have mind a full season. As for the way the film ends, again it fortunately doesn't detract anything from that original ending. In fact, it made me appreciate that ending even more than I initially did. This film has no right being as good as it is but I am not going to complain about it either. I even admit that I got a little teary eyed by the end as the film offers some much needed closure to a certain character that I loved from the show. So yeah Code Geass: Resurrection wasn't the collosal disappointment that I feared it would be. Just go in with the lowest of expectations and you will come out of it feeling mildly satisfied. The story isn't anything special but it was a good excuse to revisit these characters that I loved and I am just happy it didn't totally suck. Sure, it isn't amazing but I never expected it to be. |

Ok so basically I’m a huge Code Geass fan. After finishing the original series (and crying for a few hours) J wanted more. Recently I came across this movie and of course I decided to watch it. The movie was fine but as it stands, nothing can top the masterpiece which is the original series. Also halfway through the movie I realized that this was an alternate reality series as Shirley was not dead. It somewhat threw me of guard. This movie is perfect for those who just want more Code Geass but it can’t be expected to match the standards of the original ending. Anyway, watch the movie, it’s still worth it. |

This movie was very fanservicey. It honestly felt like a fanfic turn into a movie and I can't complain because I enjoyed it a lot, like a lot. In terms of plot there isn't anything groundbreaking, it's just the usual using Nunnally as plot device again. Still, everything felt very satisfying because it gave what the fans wanted (I mean for me at least). And I loved that ending, and I'm glad Sunrise delivered because Lelouch didn't have any reason to be Zero anymore. His story ended, and him being with C.C. is the most fitting path for him. Also thank god Sunrise didn't trap Lelouch in C's world again when he went to save Nunnally because what's the point of bringing him back and this movie then?? Anyways, 9/10. Just for pure enjoyment. |

Wow.. this movie was very good.. actually i dont watch other code geass movie Except this.. this movie bring back dead leluoch look like leluoch got Charles Code and become Immortal before zero Requiem plan but his soul traped in C world.. Such a world between life and death.. so C.C manage to bring back his soul back.. and just like the season try to save the burden again, Nunally.. very anoyying girl. and yeah leluoch has a trouble enemy who has a geass like back time skill activated by her death.. just like izanagi from naruto or subaru Skill from rezero, very trouble.. but i still dont know why they decide to bring back sharley and the other man who already dead? for leluoch i understand the reason.. but the other i think that no needed for bring sharley back.. yeah but the ending was very good.. When they manage to escape nunally C.C With her sad Face decide to left leluoch .. but Leluoch go with her and change his name become L.L nd start to search the left geass user.. Very sweet ending i think... |

Really enjoyed this movie after watching the 3 movies. Like the movie series, it was really fan service in the literal way. Obviously by first keeping Shirley alive and removing Mao and other stuff. I also agree that the watcher can view this as an alternative timeline if that person refuses to believe that Lelouch is alive at the end of R2. Me, I LAWAYS believed he lived at the end. Even if he himself wanted to die. Oh and that L.L. at the end is just <33333333. Best ship. And the Code Geass finally came full circle when LL had both. |

Recently I finished the recap movies, so I had the majority of the scenes fresh in my mind. I think we fans have to give some tough love to Sunrise here. If they dared to awaken this giant from its eternal slumber, I m expecting them to do more than just this movie. Any fan will enjoy the fanservice here, but those are the only moments the movie truly shines, strip it from those, and the direction is just barely decent, and just a justification to get Lelouch more screentime. They can't sell me the plot with just this amount of screentime, it wasn't enough to give us something meaningful, a much better build-up was needed. Outside it just being a cash grab, I think this movie tries some interesting things, whereas I can see the series going towards, but it needs way more than just a movie to flesh it out. Where it stands now, it will just divide fans. You will enjoy it immensely at the reunion scenes, but even those needed way more screentime IMO. The movie is a junction of some great scenes and a lot of meh. The villain was weak, no way I could care with just a movie. Fanservice isn't nearly enough to save the movie for me when you consider everything up to this point. It is just not even worth debating, I m not saying I didn't enjoy it, but I m hoping that with their 10 years plan, they will bring forth a much more worthy sequel. I m seeing this movie more like a stepping stone for something better that might be in the making, rather than a standalone sequel. Thus I m actually curious about what may come next since I did find the consequences that came with this conclusion of this movie rather interesting. If Sunrise wants to live up to it, the first thing they have to realize is, the fans are not asking for a massive 2 hour-long budget movie, but rather a more slow and well-paced TV series that properly takes the development from previous seasons, and brings them to the next stage. I m never expecting something as good or meaningful as R2 again, I just want something with proper care that gives the viewer the proper time to invest and get rewarded, live and breath this series again. 8.4/10 = 8 NeMy- said: Even Nina or Suzaku didn't say anything bad towards him, he literally killed your girl Suzaku, how can you not be mad and instead say "The world is better when you're here Lelouch" ??? My guess would be that midday, they both realized that Lelouch really treasured Euphy, and the truth wasn't as simple as him making her a sacrifice for his cause. Mind you, there are subtle hints proving this if you rewatch S2. But you are right, it is things like these that I wanted them to explore way more in a world where Lelouch lived, but for that, we needed a TV series, not a movie. I m keeping my expectations tame, but that is definitely one of those things I m expecting to be touched again if they ever do a TV series sequel. But maybe we are hopping too much of them?! |

As someone who thought the series were a masterpiece and will always have a very special place in my heart, I thought this movie was alright. 6/10 for me. I'm just glad and grateful to see Lelouch back in action. |

This movie is not perfect, nor is it close to how great R1 and R2 are, it's got many gaping plotholes, but here's the thing... I loved it! Fans can only hope and dream for a sequel or a continuation, but usually, it will never come true even after a few years, let alone a whole damn decade. But it did, for Code Geass. Officially, This movie is not a sequel to R2, I know. But whether it is or it isn't, I will consider it as such. The events and ending just fit seamlessly for this to be canonical and be a direct continuation, either case... This movie is one hell of an orgasm-filled fan service!!! It's so great to see Lelouch again after so long! not to mention all the other loveable characters, not you Shirley, the 3 recap movies brought you to life, but nor my like for Shirley. All the character interactions are great, I especially love how the people who once worked for him or is aware of the true nature of his plan; 'zero Requiem', all still admired him and respect him as the true Zero, well, minus Suzaku beating him up. The battle of wits, synonymous with Code Geass, is back yet again! And this time, Lelouch faced someone with a nigh undefeatable ability. Well, at least for everyone else. As the One True Emperor, ofc Lelouch eventually managed to defeat Shamna along with the military might of Zilkhstan, with style at that. I am literally at the edge of my seats upon seeing Lelouch trying to save Nunnally from C's World. I was half expecting him to wake up, but without his conscience like the state he was in before. or that he wakes up but just fell asleep again. but I'm just glad that was not the case. Finally, he got properly say his farewell to his sister Nunnally and maybe even to the others, I like to think that since he's eternally youthful, that he gets to see his sister along with some other characters from time to time, but alas that's just a side event now that L.L. and C.C. will be the hunters that hunt down all those Geass users with no resolve. A world with fewer Maos is a better world... All Hail the one True Zero, Emperor of The World and The King that stood all above the other characters in terms of the number of favourites in MAL itself! Lelouch Vi Britania, Lelouch Lamprouge, L.L. |

Treating this as a standalone was way better than comparing it to the source. I gave it a high score for a job well done. I just think that maybe we couldn't have just stopped at one movie. Maybe make it longer, or make this a two-part kinda thing. why are studios like this when it comes to movies. they would BOTHER remaking/rewriting parts of the sources on "recap" films but simply dedicate TWO HOURS for a plot that would require more than that so it'd come out better? *sighs* They might as well just turn it into a mini series or something instead of a movie that cuts a lot of the cast's charms. |

Alright this movie felt like a gift for the fans. If you're not a fan of the original story and its characters, then you might not enjoy it as much as those who are. After watching this all I have to say is OMG! This was everything. Finally. Lelouch is alive! 😭 You don't how long some of us believed in this. Back when the last episode aired and finished with that ambiguous, open ending, it spawned so many debates and theories about whether Lelouch was alive or truly dead. The flashes of memories when Nunnally touched Lelouch's hand. The disguised cart driver. Nunnally's pink crane resting on the haystack. C.C. asking Lelouch that question. Some blogs even had pictures, charts and scene breakdowns to backup their theory lol. It was SO long ago I can't believe I still remember all this stuff. But I never did stop believing! Geez I couldn't stop smiling throughout the whole movie. 😊 So many special moments:
Hoped to hear some new tracks from Hitomi, but no worries. Overall it was satisfying. I wouldn't mind if they turned this into an actual season with proper pacing. R3? Idk still feeling so many things right now. A lot of gratitude. Maybe I'm just really happy I got to see this movie. It's helped fill in the emptiness that was left open over a decade ago. 💚💜 |

Nice I'm happy they wait more than 10 years to give CG a continuation, destroying the ending point of original series and bring plot holes the size of Jupiter. If they did it like 2 years after, it would harm the image and status of the classic that Code Geass is. But now, its one generation after, so nobody cares, neither the old fans like me, so i'm just gratefull to see the huge fan service of L.L. and C.C. finally togheter, 2 imortal cursed beings to spooky the world. I'm ready for more! |

Pretty much a fanservice movie, like... I'm pretty sure some of these characters died in season 2? Of course I'm not talking about Lelouch, but for example Shirley? I still enjoyed it though, was good seeing Kallen again. I still hate Suzaku's guts though and luckily Nina did not get much screentime. |

To be honest this movie wasn't really needed. Season 2 ending basically concluded Code Geass' story, but if you just can't get over the ending then this movie is a decent watch. If you're satisfied with Season 2, I'd say avoid this movie lol. 7/10 is the best I can give |

the movie was kinda meh. It didn't really have the same vibe as the anime series. you could tell that this film was just nothing more than a simple cashgrab. The blonde women with the time travel geass and Lelouch's comeback was the only good thing in my opinion. I don't hate the movie but I feel that it was just unnecessary |

Better pacing than any of the compilation films, it feels like I'm just watching several episodes of the series non-stop, which makes sense since this is original. Smaller scale conflict now with the Black Knight's doing their job for the UFN. The enemy in this one was Zilkhstan, a place Britannia struggled to conquer because of its geography and reputation for having being warriors. I have no doubts they based Zilkhstan on Afghanistan, which in real life is known as the "Graveyard of Empires" for similar reasons. I like all these loose threads tied up:
The ending was very heartwarming. Lelouch acknowledges that Nunnally has grown up so he doesn't need to be with her constantly. When he says to C.C. that he is thinking of taking on the name "L.L." (pronounced L-2), I think that was a stealthy marriage proposal, as the two of them would basically be "Mr. & Mrs 2". They even held hands in the credits. It was sweet seeing C.C. in the beginning taking care of memory-less L.L., returning the favour from when he took care of her when she had amnesia and did so despite hardships like freaking out and wounding her at the meal. Protect that smile, L.L. |

Finally got round to watching this as a (fairly) big fan of Code Geass. Unfortunately I didn't realise until midway that it was using the re-make movie canon (which I hadn't seen). It was pretty good, techincally and it was definitely entertaining. I just don't think it needed to be made, in all honesty. Though I can't say I'm upset I got to see the characters again after all this time. |

I've just (re)watched S1, S2 and now the movie. It was everything I could have asked for. Just that look on CC's face when LL announces his new name was worth it. To anyone saying the movie "wasn't needed" or "shouldn't have been done" - I order you to kick your own butts. Feel free to hate an anime but never wish for something not to exist, people like me could lose something they love. This was a movie I have waited for more than 10 years. And it's beautiful. |

from this point onward, we're gonna pronounce Lelouch as L.L. now that I wonder what are they doing at the end of movie? are C.C. and L.L. slowly become the ruler of C world or something? |

Can't believe it took me so long to watch this, considering I rewatched R1 & R2 over 4 times..! Okay so..this was like a bad fan-fic tbh. Convenient generic villains and plot, what disappointed me the most was the lack of interaction Lelouch had with Kallen, Suzaku, Nunnally and even C.C, I was expecting(hoping) for some emotional and deep dialogue. Was great to see C.C and L.L finally get together at the end though(sort of). 7/10 |

The pacing of this film felt really weird to me, a lot of time was dedicated to things that weren't really that important and the more important bits seem rushed over, the first 40 minutes or so feel longer than they need to be, and the final conflict seems to have not been given the time to make it as enjoyable as some of the R1 conflicts. Overall though the film just wasn't that enjoyable, I don't think code geass should come back and especially after the ending of R2 because it kinda of feels like a slap in the face to the ending, an alternate universe or something like that would have been better. |

It has been so long! Decided to rewatch and was interested in new/alternative ending. Still don't know if this is what was supposed to happen after the series, cause if i remember correctly the plot didn't really change much. The first 3 compilation movies were rushed, but felt fine for rewatching. Interesting that they kept Shirley alive, but for what reason i have no idea. Her role in movies was literally 0. I remember her death was one of the saddest moments in Geass. The last movie was pretty decent, i enjoyed it. Weird story, but whatever. Also so interesting to see how the animation improved throughout so many years. Used to think Code Geass looks so good, but now it feels so outdated. The last movie looks beatiful. Rewatching the moives reminded me how i hated and still hate the character Suzaku. Don't even think had that feeling for any other anime characters. Throughout the whole series he managed to betray everything and beyond. Something about favorite characters, saying Lelouch feels so cheap. Really like Cornelia! I thought that emperor and Marianne's plan to hide their kids and then complete some bullshit to achieve unity felt so weird. Also Nunally deciding to team up with Shneizel and nuking thousands of people to punish Lelouch, like wtf ... Kinda same perspective, mb war or fighting aka killing enemies to achieve piece, but Kallen or Suzaku just bombarding 10-20-30 enemy mechs without any thought. Typical highschoolers i guess. Mb i'm exagerrating, but don't really know, should that considered to be right?! Really like the ending, was so heartwarming to see C.C.'s smile and Lelouch naming himself L.L. felt so cool. Mb i'm slow, really didn't think that he had same first letters so he can make that ending =/ While it was really nice, at the same time thought it was kinda weird to see all of them make up just like nothing happened. Overall 8/10 enojyed the memory trip, was really worth rewatching and watching the new ending. |

Nunnally got a dog. lol at Tohdoh carrying the baby. Shirley crying. Zero and Arthur. Dem bodies. L.L. and C.C. And that was the end. It was good, but I am hurt that Lelouch and Kallen didn't happen. Their relationship was destroyed in the trilogy films. All the important scenes that were in the original series? Gone. There was no build up, so it just appeared as if Kallen loved Lelouch and Lelouch didn't have the same level of feelings for her. The whole entire reason Shirley was kept alive was just so that she can make FnL happen. Without her, this movie doesn't happen. Also, they killed off Xing-ke in this timeline and just had him on the screen. You wouldn't notice if you weren't paying attention. It's a good thing that this ALTERNATE timeline movie is in the canon of the trilogy movies instead of the original canon (even then, R2 means Route 2 because its not the original continuation story due to executive meddling altering the plot for money and casuals). I considered Taniguchi the GOAT after watching Season 1. CG ain't been the same since the executives meddled. I await the day the true story of CG is told that starts with the episode 26 script. Watch date: 1/2020 Don't bother replying. I watched this 2 years ago and am only pasting what was in my notes. |

oh man i really did not care much for this :( i cant believe i watched all three recap movies in order to be able to watch this movie and then ended up being let down. recap movies were already a huge pain in the neck to watch since it was over 6 hours of content. i had no idea what to expect from this movie but now i understand that the recap movies were setting up an alternate take on the series that seems to conclude with this movie (unless that new project is supposed to continue on from the ending of this movie). okay also uhmm not sure if i missed something but was there a point to keeping shirley alive?? i swear she didnt have any significance at all during this movie. you would think that if they were gonna change that plot point that they would make her more relevant. meh idk feels like theyre milking the code geass cow dry with all these movies plus this new project. some things need to come to an end. its nice to be able to see these characters again but my god how much content are they gonna put out for this series lol i didnt hate this movie but i also wasnt a huge fan; will be watching what comes next though, but i reaaaalllllly hope it isnt another 2 hour long movie. these movies honestly just take up my entire evening when i could be grinding another series on my ptw list |
