| Haven't seen an adaptation this faithful for an EP's content 1:1 since Season 1 tbh I myself don't mind trimming as long as it isn't something absolutely substantial (which they did very well lately, contrary to what a vocal minority will scream to you in here), but I can always appreciate when they can fit such a good adaptation in that timeframe this well, too. Also, Pieck's ass, now people can finally calm their tits, as if Isayama wouldn't adapt his memes, they are part of what he enjoys the most writing his manga lol 5/5, next episode will be the , and people will finally know where the manga hype is coming from for this final season. |

And no, they fucked up in episode 2 and 3. Titan wall invasion. Zeke showing concern over ackermans. |
| A lot of heavy dialogues in this episode, it was very interesting, and now we have Reiner with Eren at the end, I can't wait to see the next episode, too bad we'll have to wait because of the break |

Zeke showing concern over ackermans. 1- What are you even talking about, never said there wasn't any ep adapted 1:1 since season 1, just that none that was adapted faithfully like this since season 1 (meaning the setup; slow paced exposition, minor additions and overall atmospheric without really skipping a single thing, overall very solid slow-burner instead of the fast pacing we got ever since Season 2 with rare exceptions... which, on themselves, were trimmed and "quick action" focused overall). 2- That wasn't really a meme, just a black comedy panel, which context in the story segment was changed to be more dramatized of an operation in the anime instead, so it wouldn't fit. Uprising in general was not a very good adaptation, at that, and heavily modified as requested by Isayama himself, so I would say the point still goes towards that, even because it was his personal choice to adapt it like it went (meaning he was very aware what was going to make that cut and what wasn't). He specifically wanted to trim that arc the most he could after all. 3- And no, those were fine as is, it was a good cut and I will just link you a 12+ paragraphs long reply in which I analyzed them in the previous ep's thread compared to the content to be covered soon and why everything was adapted considerably very well without losing anything substantial (though someone already made a post detailing it even better than myself some days ago), if you want to keep going on that point. |

| Imo this episode was perfect, finally got an episode that brought back the good vibes I got from previous seasons. Also the scenes people were complaining about getting cut got added, Mappa can be quite unpredictable huh? |
| Did Eren really just meet his grandpa? I did not expect that to happen, I thought he might've died years ago. But of course he wasn't there was a doc, but as a patient instead. The end gets me damn hyped... just like last episode. Only for this episode to be a bit of a letdown again. It feels like barely anything is happening in these episodes and we're already 25% through with this season ;_; |
| The calm before the storm. Maybe this was the first time the kids were able to be normal kids. Their festival scenes were both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. So the old dude was Eren's grandpa, huh? Nice coincidence. Oooooh, it looks like shit's about to go down next episode with the long-awaited reunion teased at the very end. I can't wait. |

| Ayy the pacing was great, definitely my favorite ep thus far. I love the scene between Eren and his grandpa. When Eren triggered him and he had a mental breakdown the direction and voice acting were perfect. They really put you into the granfather's shoes and how much he is suffering/regretting how things turned out. Literally can't wait for the next episode. I am glad there will be a two week break if they will make this episode as good as they possibly can. If it's anywhere near as good as in the manga, it will be a masterpiece. |

| Great episode. MAPPA did a good job. The after credit scene got me hyped. Manga readers know what's about to go down. Too bad we'll have to wait a bit for the next episode but the wait will be worth it. |

Nothing unusual though, lots of shows have episodes delayed during this time because of the New Year's Eve |

| PIECK ASS PIECK ASS https://imgur.com/a/RtpMuRG Everyone was so pissed about them skipping this last week lol, MAPPA came thru in the clutch. MAPPA have blown these first 4 eps out of the park honestly. I was always a huge Gabi stan, but I feel like they’ve just given such great character to all of the Marley cast. The voice acting, direction, etc just been amazing. It just feels like it hits differently from WIT. That post credits scene...And there it is, probably my most anticipated manga panel in history. Next week is where peak fiction really starts. |
