I just wanted to point out something, I'll use spoiler tag because I'll be using a screenshot of Higurashi Kai, I don't think it sopils anything, but just in case:

So maybe, Gou's arcs are somehow a "reflection" of the original ones in Higurashi? We know at least the Furude shrine is reversed somehow, and being Rika & Hanyuu the ones directly linked to all the supernatural stuff, maybe it has sense the Furude shrine is linked to all the events repeating again but not being quite the same as we know because it's another world or just a reflection of the "original world".

Rika running in the OP to this shrine and the lyrics saying that "opening the door you may find the truth of everything" seems like a hint of something here.

If nothing else, quite the interesting point to note ._.
However if you read it from right to left, it's still right way to do so, so it could also just be a "mistake" on the staff.

Intelligent gets through situations which wise avoids.

Yep, it well may be, but being Japanese themselves it'd be a blatant mistake on the anime staff. And also, being the Furude shrine upside down from Rika's perspective in episode 2 could be a hint that it really is like a reflection.

Maybe you're right, but if it's not a simple mistake, it seems like a hint, and that's interesting.

That's a very interesting idea, and it would be just like R7 to put some real thought into this scenario. I hope it turns out this way.

The pace to me felt really off last episode and the beginning of this one, but i enjoyed the second half of this episode because it slowed down a bit. And I like the dramatic touch on the ending of the episode when they are about to enter the shrine because....well we all know what that means!

AT LONG LAST TAKANO IS HERE

No much happened this ep but let's talk.

Shion has a distinctly antagonistic relationship with Mion. She's purposefully messing with Mion and K1. Perhaps she's annnoyed at Mion by pretending to be Shion as a way to express her softer side - perhaps Shion feels like she's not her own person and resents Mion for that (for... obvious reasons).
Mion, like before, is trying to protect K1 by keeping him ignorant of Oyashiro's curse etc. perhaps because she deosn't want him to view the Sonozaki family in a bad light. Conversely, it feels like Shion is trying to egg K1 on and make him have a bad view of Hinamizawa/the three great houses

I actually had a similar thought while watching ep 6! Would be an intereting twist.

My guess is that we're gonna get all three question arcs adapted (and I'm hoping for longer length Watanagashi/Tatarigoroshi and no Himatsubushi) and then hopefully a couple of long answer arcs/one answer arc with Rika trying to figure out what exactly has gone wrong and why.

Cant wait for Mion to pass by Granny and her mentioning that she is meeting the eldest son of the Ushiromiya family, commenting "He is nothing like his father". Would be funny if Krauss's failed projects and debt was because of the Sonozaki family.

Episode 6 was alright. I know that there is still more to come and the intensity is slowly increasing.

Better than the previous one, but it still is kinda bad, I think the problem is this direction, it doesn't really feel like many scenes have any weight to them (I'll give them the final one, but it was impossible to fuck it up). The, uh, darkened faces they keep doing also really feel cheesy more than anything.

This characters design also making everyone fucking shiny is pretty bleah.

I sure have missed Takano's voice. Itou Miki radiates huge "ara ara" energy. It's a shame she doesn't do much nowadays, but yeah, good to have Takano back.

I dont know who is responsible, the translators or the editor but whoever is I hope they get fired.

What the fuck are those translations? Why change the way the characters talk? Sometimes they oversimplify it down to one word that is slightly similar to what was said, other times they add shit in their lines and sometimes the translation has nothing to do with what was said or the context itself.

And this is a mystery series. If sol scenes suffer that much I don't want to imagine what will happen if clues lie in what the characters say but our geniuses decide to word it however they want.

People pay for this shit.

Yeah this has actually been bothering me a bit. It's bad enough when even in english things don't always make the most sense but it's even worse if you understand at least a bit of what they're saying... in a show like this changing slightly the meaning of a sentence may make a difference....

You know, it actually would be fun if nothing changed despite K1 giving the doll to Mion this time. Making us and Rika think stuff would be different but in the end everything happens the same way. Since we saw the changes from the previous arc derived from Rika's intervention this could actually work to mess with her head in particular (an i mention Rika because I've read some people have similar theories here as well so not so much for the watcher but for the character itself).

Anyway, was an alright episode, I have some questions regarding some of the Mion/Shion interactions so I'm holding my thoughts here, we'll see where things go.

That transition to the ending actually bothered me a bit though, it took all the sense of tension away from that moment for me, was a shame. Also Takano's head tilt was something xD along with Ooichi's neckbreaker nod for the cop to start driving away in that glorious 3D car

"In the past few months since we met, I've shared many memories with Nagato. Though I've also shared memories with Haruhi, Asahina-san and Koizumi, I found that I've experienced more events with Nagato in particular. In fact, every situation seems to involve her. I might as well mention this, she's probably the only person to cause the bell within me to shake the most vigorously..." ~ Kyon, TMOSH

I didn't really notice any major differences with this one compared to the original. I found it strange they decided to end it where they did but I guess it works.
Also..

Shion Mion cuteness 😍

Looks like events in this Watadamashi-hen are similar but slightly different from the original anime Watanagashi-hen...

Something is off with Mion in this episode, looks like something bad gonna happen soon 😔

Alright. If possible, can anyone clear up the number of times Keiichi saw Shion and Mion throughout this arc, but mistook them for the opposite? Also, that fan service with the ice cream was...... As far as the og goes,
, or did it happen?

Felt really good to see Keichi keeping up his promise and defending Shion.
Ok, ok, so we have Shion and Mion and both seem to have a crush on him. Although it seems like one of them is gonna go psycho.
Dude, you shouldn't have listened to that story, you should have just ran away with Mion.

Am I the only one who finds Takano creepy? The way she talked, sounded almost like a Yandere!

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

This was my thought as well, the character seems slightly different from how she appeared the original series. I also find Keiichi less mature in this version.

I cant believe Shion and Mion arent the same person...
I dont remember them showing up in the same place at the same time in the VN but I read it 10 years ago so..
It was so predictable that Shion would be attacked by the curse of watanagashi because of mion. Yes im still in the middle of episode 6, im typing this before I even see that it happens.

I forgot about the Mion/Shion thing. I thought they are just a product of a split persona.

Oh yeah just like in the VN, depending on the girl you focus on, how the plot is revealed and the characters involved will be different. I guess we'll keep on getting the bad ending up until the last 4-5 or so eps.

I really prefer this route just because Shion/Mion are both so sexy. If I was Keiichi I'll become the embodiment of Oyashiro's curse and have my way with them. hehe

Okay there were few new scenes, subtle but still nice. However, the very core is still the same as Wataganashi arc, except the doll scene on the previous episode. I wonder what the difference between this arc will be and the original Wataganashi arc.
