Great buildup episode, though I thought we were going to get the exchange event next episode. But, looks like we are going to get an arc in between. Looks pretty hype though. Todou and Mai are some interesting wierd people lmao. I am sure Itadori and Todou will get along, I can't wait for them to meet. I definitely like Maki more than Mai though and tbh Maki is my favorite character so far, next to Gojo sensei of course. And finding out Maki had no curse powers made me like her more. Lmao, Gojo is about ready to massacre all the higher ups. I really liked Miwa though, she represents all of us Gojo fans. |

The episode was fine :) I'm glad Nobara & Megumi were shown more & I also already like the second years alot. Mai and Toudou aren't that great tho, so far they're basically the typical mean/bully good guy trope :x jerryjoonie said: Megumi actually said (in both manga and anime) "sono hito" - as long as "that person" is passionate, he didn't care about anything else. But musty Crunchyroll just had to be bi/panphobic so here we are, with heteronormativity :/ Uh, that's good to know! Representation is always appreciated, Megumi stays winning :D Coolest powers & maybe even pan/bi - yay! Side note: Sad to see that the toxic fans are already at it again tho *sigh* |

Well two older kids from another school show up and have annoying bully personalities. Well I'm sure there will be some decent beat down eventually. Then we just time skip into another crime scene. Tho this time it's actually being investigated onscreen (unlike the fire incident where fire man just showed up to die after burning everyone in a family restaurant). Pretty sure we have not met the blond dude with Itadori yet. Gonna be interesting to see how everyone reacts when he shows up during the tournament arc. |

surprise mai lesbianism was unexpected but appreciated nonetheless. highlight for me this time around was the debut of inumaki's cursed technique, i loved the sfx they chose to accentuate it. I wish they had kept megumi's line gender neutral because I feel it's more true to his character than arbitrarily making him say "she" but other than that, no complaints! as always the bgm slapped but it was super cool to know that the rap during the todo/megumi fight was performed by Che Lingo! He apparently wrote some other pieces, including one for panda, but he's unaware if the others made it or not, so maybe we'll hear him in a future episode!! |

This episode was a small preview of what we are going to have at the exchange event, although I think judging someone by their taste in women is not a good idea. Gojou doesn't really like conservative people at the top and has shown that he's not afraid of them. |

Since the dude randomly asked what type of girls is he into, I'll talk about something a bit more productive, like what kind of characters I'm not into. And you can bet I hate every single element about those new characters. In fact, the entire 1st half of the episode was just annoying. I just don't understand why shounen thinks a great character is someone who acts weird for no reason. And being shallow is apparently a good thing too. And I also love that any kind of constructive criticism is given in this thread we get the classic: "If you don't like it, don't watch it" response. A show may have the potential of being awesome, until it progresses and turn into a disappointment, which is why people will express their disappointment. But even if that's not the case, people can watch something for any reason they want (hell the main reason I'm still watching this is to socialize). Not to mention people are actually being attack for expressing their opinions in here. Are only positive comments are allowed? If the comment has good arguments, there is no reason for someone not post it. In fact, a comment like this is much better than the typical fanboyism comments we're tired of seeing, like the comment after mine which is pretty much: "OMG, I love the comedy of this show! The guy only says onigiri ingredients haha so funny". EDIT: Found a comment on episode 7 forum thread that I agree 100%, and apparently needs to be said again: StormxNightmare said: I just read this entire discussion and I'm actually kinda speechless. Some of y'all seriously need to stop being so butthurt over people not liking this show, cause so far it has been pretty generic with amazing animation and even if that changes later on, you can't really blame people for pointing out what we've been given so far. You can't just insult people and call them dumb cause they don't like this show. And you most definitely should never tell anyone to die (my jaw dropped when I read that), just because they aren't fond of an anime. What has gotten into some of you? I like the anime so far, but this already looks like it's shaping up to be the typical toxic fanbase most shounen have and that's really killing the vibe. I just hope this community has at least some standards in the future, but I'm losing my hope every year. |

This show is just zig zagging all over the place with no care about consistency. Main character is crazy, kills monster and eats possessed finger, ok sure. Main character gets accepted to school for gifted kids, fine. Send main character who is just new to everything directly to most dangerous special grade monster, hmm i dont know about that. Main character loses his hand with no reaction and dies only to be brought back, does this show care about tension? Main character gets to ride along with his overpowered mentor explaining basically nothing. And now we get a character lazily pulling a gun on a student with no one to care standing around and also a timeskip of a month. There is no tension, comedy and horror are mixed up all over the place. Theres no effort to try and make it comprehensive so what exactly does it want to accomplish really? Manga fans are hyping this up like crazy but I really cant see why this is so special? Is this all just about the animation honestly? And even then its no where near what AOT or even Mob Psycho pulled |

Looks like the competition is in town this week. Mai is a total babe. Todo was a chad liking tall women with huge asses. For me, I love all women. But tomboys, older sister types, short and busty, or tall and busty all work too. The blue haired girl was incredibly funny, as well as cute. Her scenes were all comedy gold. So this show keeps teasing that Megumi has some amazing powers inside, but every time he's about to show them off, something stops him. This time was when the second years intervened. That's clearly foreshadowing he's going to be showing them off during the upcoming tournament. |

This wasn't a happy episode for me. After the last one, I was hyped and expecting to be mantained the level of the show. But the first part was just unjustified violence, it made me sick. At least the end gave me hype for the next episode.... the boy from cinema was one of the top students Gojou sensei was talking about, isn't he? A future super powerful one. So I hope will have some good fights and villains development. |

So far this series has done great things with its characters and I always enjoy seeing new ones because I already know they'll keep things interesting no matter their "fetishes", to quote a certain someone. This episode focused on the 2 new ones, but it seems like we got a glimpse of a 3rd at the end of the episode as well. Really curious what that guy's about since he was sitting right next to Itadori in the op from the beginning. I really enjoyed the bonding moment between Nobara and Maki and Toge and Panda are still as funny as ever. However, my favorite is still Fushiguro, especially after he delivered the line "as long as she has unshakeable character, I won't ask for more" to which I can definitely relate (ladies hit me up *wink* *wink*). I guess I'm just as boring, huh? Also from what I understand that line wasn't translated too well, but oh well! Oh and how could I forget about the blue haired girl who represents the entire female audience with 100% accuracy whenever Gojou Satoru is on screen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHANGE MY MIND. |

Instead, Gojou chose education to groom intelligent and strong comrades who wouldn’t yield to higher-ups. 2) Firstly - adrenaline shock. Secondly - he’s crazy. All jujutsu sorcerers have to be at least a little nutsy to be accepted. You said it yourself. 3) Gojou said Domain Expansions are pinnacle of jujutsu battles and explained how they’re so effective. 4) Teachers weren’t present?? Also second years came to save Fushiguro and Kugisaki, don’t know why you thought no one cares. Students know their limits, they didn’t kill anyone. |

Okay, i finally been able to reach these episode. It seems, the plot already move into something good for me. While the introduction felt kinda too fast, but really on point. Put a spoiler tag there to reduce my paragraphs. No real spoiler happened there, just ignore that.... Nice, another student introduced themself. Its Toudou, third class, from Kyoto. And the last was Maki twin sister. Interesting. These two characters had a bold introduction, directly attack Fushiguro and captured Nobara. The action animation was always great and very pleasant to watched. While the interaction between them had a good direction to pointed out their characteristic. Fushiguro a boring guy? Judging by a woman type liking? Lol. A very straight-forward judgement, Toudou. Now, i am very curious to see his technique. Could he really a top-graded student like Mai said? Alas, everything just be done to be like that. Because Panda and Inumaki appeared and stopped their fight. Just bring the exchange student event already! Well, good information dumped there. Getou was a curse user terrorist that attacked a several place in the last year. Nice! So thats explain what i am feeling wrong at a few previous episodes. Unprecedented jujutsu terror attack? Interesting. Its connected to Gojou statement while facing against Kyoto principal. A revolution from the youth sorcerer, it seemed, from Gojou's statement. However, their route must be in a different way, and its pretty curious how they were dealing with those generation. Or what i mean, how the generation dealing with themself. Okay, left aside that, Toudou was so powerful. But Fushiguro ofc could survive, because his physical from the last battle with Sukuna seemed pretty good against Toudou crazy physical power. But, he still unleashead his curse energy, even not even using his technique. Well, the real fight might happened at he exchange student venue. So i must be wait until the real deal happened. So, Zenin Maki was a cursed weapon holder without even having a curse energy. Damn. Now i feel something bad might happened to her. Since so far she seemed to be kinda weak if i compared her to Nobara, by the look of their power level. But, as a team, who knows? Panda still unknown. Inumaki seems pretty cool with his sound that looks like already imbued by the curse energy. Even with her fighting style still unknown. So .... yeah, everything can be happen! Beside them, and the principal of Kyoto that i might pointed him as an old man appearance, there was Gojou's fangirl named, Miwa. Man, what a great way to give a little comedic vibes before they reached something serious. Yes, that Getou mate, Mahito already in action, and i am ready to see his technique, or whatever happened, at the next episode. That end scene. Itadori with the instructor sorcerer that get voiced by Kenjirou. Lol, so far i am already figuring out his characterization. A calm person, like op-ed, but maybe with a strong will of power. Great! I hope Itadori already progressed something good on his training! Okay episode to introduce a certain characters. Onward to the next episode! |

The umpteenth episode of construction soon reappears, which, despite my previous clarification, has its own value at the plot level. The script sets up an interesting narrative to follow and the new fight, albeit surreal at the beginning and a little short, is engaging, because it is well choreographed and suggests the quality of the two characters involved in it. Always funny, he does not exaggerate with comedy and this is good because it leaves all the spectators who follow this show a bit satisfied. Good quality of drawings and animations. Finally we have a more precise idea of a part of the characters that make up the cast. |

He said "this person", not "she". He didn't specify a gender here, so why the fuck did the subs use "she"??? At least the Jujutsu Stroll made up for this. It was hinted in the author notes that Mai prefers girls, yet it wasn't included in the original story. So I'm glad we got some LGBTQ representation in the after credit this week (despite being a bit obscure) Another translation error. She said "short legs" here, not "long legs". That's why Nobara was pissed. It doesn't make sense for a girl to be mad when she got told she has long legs, cause that's a compliment. A panda who speaks human language, and a human who doesn't speak the human language. LMAO Oh Todo, my man of culture, is here! The anime did him justice. His appearance, voice, and animation are perfect. The only nitpick I have is in this scene Todo's head is too small and his body is too big lol I'm quite surprised at Junpei's voice (the kid in the end). That wasn't what I was expecting. I thought he'd have a...deeper voice? Not too deep but deeper than this. MestariYN said: "If you prefer men, that's fine, too." Jesus... How I would've loved it if Megumi had actually said something along the lines like... men? Betsu ni ii.... i wouldn't be surprised if he actually did lol. JJK is known for subverting expectations. Though I do like how he didn't specify a gender when he stated his tastes ;) Sourire said: Todo best boi and Mahito finally enter. And even then its no where near what AOT or even Mob Psycho pulled 1- The higher ups sent Yuji there so that he’d die because they dont want a compatible vessel for Sukuna to exist. They’d hoped the special grade curse would’ve killed him. 2- Curses can regenerate meaning Sukuna healed Yuji. 3- Gojo explained the domain expansion to Yuji that’s why he brought him along. 4- Yes a gun with cursed bullets, are you new to shounen? 1. so absolutely no care from anyone about this? they literally send the mc to his death and 2 accompanying first years and Gojo just shrugs it off 2. fine but it doesnt mean anything when Yuji doesnt know that and has absolutely no reaction to his hand being fucked up. 3. Which doesnt explain anything how it ties into Jujutsu, doesnt explain how he is powerful and its just shallow explaination of terms we dont know anything about. 4. cursed bullets or not, nobody seems to care that some first years are in danger. Again they shrug it off, how am i supposed to care about tension when even the show doesnt? 1) Gojou does care and we saw him angry. He literally threatened to kill all higher-ups but knew it wouldn’t be effective. 1. wouldve been nice if they actually told or informed those "strong comrades" atleast helped them out. Instead of sending them to their deaths and afterwards claiming that he's mad. He could've atleast done something preventative. 2. Nuts is one thing, lack of tension is another. If everyone is crazy, how are we supposed to care? 3. cool but its literally just saying its powerful, but without any context as to how its powerful and how it relates to anything Jujutsu. Its like if hxh skipped all the nen explaination and just let the characters do whatever, that is what this is. 4. Because the characters look like this -.- instead of 'o' 1) Gojou was literally away on a business trip wdym 2) Idk your lack of tension when most ppl were freaking out during the detention centre episode. Nobara, Megumi and Satoru were shown to be in fact saddened and mad. Actually, if you want to care more about the characters, I propose you stay for more episodes. Or maybe you won't care, since everyone has different levels of when they start doing that. 3) Regarding Gojou and other things overall - JJK most of the time leans on "show, don't tell" side. The hints are piling up, and you start collecting, comparing and fusing them only in future chapters/episodes. Things you thought of as irrelevant and illogical make sense later. I know that as a reader. Like for this instance, you could've just compared Jogo to all the curses Yuuji has met so far and build power levels in your head by yourself. And how is DE not related to jujutsu? It's literally made of huge amount of cursed energy and requires you to be a curse/a jujutsu sorcerer with great skills to create one. Battles with DEs don't involve "power" or whatever definition you had in your mind. It's more about how refined, detailed your DE is, how much time you've spent on making it better. Gojou said that in episode 7. 4) Yeah, now look at point 2 in my first post. |

Is the bullying between the 3rd year students and te 1st ones useful in any way, such as toughening up the freshman, or are they just assholes? I wasn't too impressed by this part of the episode tbh. I liked the talk about fetishes being a good sign about how one's personality is like though. I really think it does to certain extent. |

youcansmileagain said: the new characters introduced honestly just were irritating to me and i hate the trope of just beating the shit out of the mcs for no good reason in shounen anime tbh like "youre WEAK fuck you!" but umm it is what it is i guess.. i hope they get less annoying personally it was my least favorite episode so far but like its not gonna stop me from liking the show i liked the after credits scene though lol is mai gay or something lol i liked how the secretary lady was a gojo fan she was silly tbh There're hints Mai might be lesb. Overall, Akutami-sensei (mangaka) seems LGBT-friendly. Like, Todou is an ally and he said to Fushi "even men are fine". Megumi is believed by many in the fandom to be bi/pan because of the way he said "sono hito" ("that/a person") |

jerryjoonie said: Megumi is believed by many in the fandom to be bi/pan because of the way he said "sono hito" ("that/a person") I don't usually weigh in on "controversial" subjects but I feel the need to point out (because I've seen few people actually saying this) that the people who believe this and suggest it's worth dragging a translator over don't really get how Japanese works. Translation from Japanese to English is not 1:1 - just because the literal translation is "that person" doesn't mean the nuance of the word/phrase is the same in both languages. Japanese is a very contextual language which can make it quite vague at times and open to the interpretation of the listener. English, by contrast, isn't so vague. In fact, vagueries tend to make the listener hone in on the vagueness and make more out of it than is necessarily implied. In Japanese, it is commonplace to use non-gendered pronouns when talking about someone else because it's the context that tells you what gender they mean. This is natural and not out of the ordinary at all, meaning a Japanese listener wouldn't question what was meant. Note that this doesn't *preclude* a different gender being meant, but it doesn't *imply* anything other than the gender the context suggests. In English, it's completely different. If a gender is known or expected, it is really weird and out of place for something non-gendered to be said, which means if we do hear a phrase like "that person," it sticks out like a sore thumb and suggests a nuance that wasn't there in the original. So what does this mean exactly? Basically, translation is difficult, because trying to correctly convey in English how a Japanese person would understand a certain piece of dialog is full of these little pitfalls that you sometimes can't predict. I would actually argue that the manga translation is more at fault for setting up a nuance that isn't in the original, but I don't blame the translator for that because, well, it's the literal definition of the phrase and that translator made a judgment call on how important the vagueness was - ie, if it turned out he *was* gay/bi/pan, that line would later be shown to be wrong. But again, in the Japanese, the gender he means is implied even if not explicitly said. Neither choice is wrong, per se, and neither shows "an agenda." To denounce a translator as homophobic or whatever's going on at the moment is just ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding of the translation process and specifically, the Japanese language. Personally, I'd use the word "someone" in that line over gender neutral pronouns because you can get away with that in English and sound natural while still being sufficiently vague so people don't jump to potentially false conclusions. But I wouldn't class anyone doing it differently as "mistranslating" because it's just not true. It's simply an alternative way of wording the line in an attempt to stick as close to the original Japanese as possible, and every translator will have a different opinion on how to do that because well, that's how translation works. It can be a messy process and easy to get caught out over something as small as a pronoun. tl;dr Translating's a minefield and translators don't have a map of it. Throwing grenades at someone doing a difficult job when they accidentally step on a mine probably isn't helping any cause you think it is. |

Dropped. This is just trash. This show doesn't have any clear focus, it tries to be too many things at once and then fails at all of them. The dialogue and characters are so goofy. The comedy or attempts at comedy is terrible as well, and they are always misplaced. A few sakuga scenes are only going to go so far. It's like GOH, which is very fitting given the studio behind this. |

Ehh the problem with this one so far is that the story is simply not interesting to follow, and the power system, that cursed energy, is neither explained well nor it's executed in any any interesting manner. I feel like if a Shounen doesn't have a well established power system that's well explained and executed, it failed, basically. I hope it improves later on. The first episode was really promising but with 8 episodes in now, it hasn't been anything bar above average 6/10 Shounen. |
