THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Gallantly, Hiratsuka Shizuka walks ahead. Things felt awkward in the between 8man x Yukinon during this whole season but thank god this episode came around. Whew. That aside, Isshiki was at her best behavior yet, shocking. That 8man x Yui dance :( RIP Yui. Hello alone playing as BGM certainly didn't help either. Yukinon made her feeling clear about wanting to take over her father's work. You go, girl! "Does something "genuine" actually exist?" Haruno, 2020. I really loved this segment, probably my favorite of the whole season yet. Hiratsuka-sensei is such a good teach. Bros among bros. Her segment with 8man was immensely powerful. Damn, why does she have to leave? This segment was weaker, at least 1000x, compared to the light novels. Probably because of the monologues. A powerful episode. The next episode is what it will all boil down to. These next 7 days are going to be painful. |

Dang, I wish that practice dance lasted longer. Yukino's scenes were sweet. She's being so honest now and more open towards Hachiman than ever before. Facing against the past also makes her a stronger person. |

Somehow I feel this is even more painful, why teenagers have to life a like that ... Love is a complicated thing and teenagers get caught up in it. Well, I don't like that dance. Where there is a meeting there will be a farewell. Is it just my feeling that episode 10 sensei always comes to give advice to Hachiman? Those soundtrack is so beautiful. |

Arranging jobs for Prom. Talking w. the girls. Prom begins. Main guy dancing w. Touyama-san's character. What Yukino wants to do revealed when mother and sister visited her after prom. It's related to her father's profession. Mother supporting? Sister not happy w. the result. The trio discussing about their year and ending that now. Awkward because he cannot say the truth, and Yukino's sister knows. Teacher realized something and talks w. main guy. It seems like he got his answer now. ED is piano ver. More talk? next. Two more eps. |

The prom went well and Yukino made progress with her mother. But it seems her sister is not convinced and she was pretty harsh towards Hikki. Guess we will find out his answer next episode. |

I still can't believe they cut the Romeo and Juliet scene, it's one of the most romantic scenes for Yukino and Hachiman. They also cut Yukino's last interlude/monologue. Man, Yukino only had 2 interludes for 3 seasons and they didn't adapt any of them FFS. And of course they adapted all Yui and Iroha scenes perfectly, including the dance scene. If any LN readers still thinks this is a good adaptation, something is wrong with you. How can they convince anime only fans about the main couple with 2 episodes now? Romeo and Juliet scene and Yukino Interlude(from the LN) I shifted my gaze from the monitor and stuck my face out the window again. Yukinoshita looked up at me while bending her head slightly to the side, and wordlessly asked me if something was wrong. She must've found it suspicious when I suddenly disappeared from the window. I whispered, “Nothing at all” but I didn't say it into my microphone, and my lips barely even opened, so there was no way she could have possibly heard the words. Still curious, Yukinoshita tilted her head. I shook my head in response, and she nodded back after looking convinced. The stage wings were enshrouded in darkness, but when they occasionally brightened up from the light of the disco balls, I could easily make out her fine features, innocent gestures, and beautiful smile. The backlight of the control booth, however, must've made it somewhat hard for her to see from her position. But thanks to that, she wouldn't be able to see the face I was making right now. There's no way I could show her this idiotic face; I was smiling from the ridiculousness of the thought that flashed through my head. I'm sure the absurd thought only came to me because of how we were positioned, composed of two segregated stage wings with one person looking up and the other looking down. Almost as if it was astage play I once watched long ago. The height of the window on the balcony was extremely different from the small window of the control booth, and even our gender positions were the complete opposite. Our whispers were far from what you would call affectionate, and our business talk wasn't similar in the least. That's why, the end that awaited us would most certainly not be the same. The thought left me smiling. Although it wouldn't be anywhere close to that happy ending, we waited for the end to this time to come. After calculating the remaining length of the song from the clock display, I squeezed my microphone. “——The song's ending momentarily.” We couldn't avoid the time lag over the headset. Yukinoshita pressed her earphone with her fingertips and dropped her eyes. “——Understood.” A brief reply followed by static, indicating that she was still pressing down the button of her mic. Two seconds passed. Then, three. She squeezed her collar together with the microphone and softly whispered. “Hey, Hikigaya-kun...” I waited, and waited, but the rest never came, only the static and her quiet breathing. “Make sure you grant her wish, okay...?” And then, her voice cut off. I wasn't able to see her expression. There was a small time difference and distance between us, and the static was a one-way street. We had a meeting over work, bounced some worthless jokes off of each other, but never touched upon anything else. Without a doubt, this must've been the correct distance for us. And so, my answer was already set in stone. “——I know.” In just a few moments, the song would end. After the final explosive sound, the remaining outro gradually transitioned to silence. The lighting faded in conjunction, and the guests interpreted that to be the end of the dance, and pepped up for the party of partings. Applause, whistling, and cheers filled the ground floor. “——Thank you. Let's end this.” After waiting for the clamor to subside, she raised her hand to signal. “Got it.” I answered to myself, and not over the headset. Yukino Interlude after this scene : The small window of the control booth was so far up from the darkness that my hand just didn't seem like it could reach. Reaching out up toward the unreachable window towering overhead was like a situation directly from Shakespeare. It came to mind because the composition of this situation was exactly the same, even though our relationship and our positions were completely different. The thought put a self-loathing smile on my face. Our relationship wouldn't end on such a straightforward and blissful manner. It would remain a relationship that we would never know how to define. For me, for him, and for her. The relationship between the three of us had no name. No matter what you called a rose, it would still have the same sweet fragrance, and perhaps, our relationship was exactly that. Even if we were able to give it a name, it wouldn't change. I was sure of it. It had to be. I didn't believe those words at all, yet I swallowed them as if they were sweet poison. In that way, I could put myself to rest. The lighting behind him made it difficult for me to perceive his expression, but it looked as if he was smiling. The moment I tried to ask if anything had happened, I was interrupted by static from my earphone. And it informed me of the end. The time for our fun chatter was over. This was the end. I replied with an acknowledgment and briefly added to it. Then, I released the microphone of my headset from my hand. I used the microphone on its stand located in the wing of the stage behind the drapes to read out an announcement. The closing ceremony began, and the music increased in intensity. Once the performers took the stage, that was the end. What remained was to send the signal. I raised my hand toward the control booth. But I didn't extend it any farther because I knew it wouldn't reach the elevated window. With that very same hand that lost its destination and had naught else to go, I quietly waved. |

Well the prom went off without a hitch which is good. Kinda thought something would go wrong, glad I was wrong. Yui got a a dance with Hachiman which is nice. Yukino was able to tell her mom her thoughts and what she wants to do with her future. So way to go girl! Also got some sweet scenes between her and Hachiman, could use more of them though. I think Haruno speaks for most of us when she asks "If anything genuine actually exists." Any scene where Hirastuka is giving advice to Hachiman is both quite informative and also enjoyable to watch lol. Really looking forward to the next episode. |

Yukino had like two scenes this episode which is a great improvement over the last one. Yui got to dance with her beloved. I wonder what hachiman was gonna say to both yui and yukino. Sensei was true OP at the end tho. I have a feeling that this season is gonna suffer same fate as hoshiai no sora for some reason. The pacing seems really terrible. We have two episodes of yuigairu remaining, just hoping for a satisfying conclusion. |

While it’s not as strong compared to the LN, it’s nice to see best sensei give one last nugget of wisdom to our boy Hachiman before she leaves as his teacher. Looking back at volume 14, next week is gonna be pain followed by healing. Nice to see more Yukino too. |

LN reader, what chapter are we at right now? And with the possibility of 3 episodes remaining, assuming they stick to the light novel ending, is it possible for the 3 remaining episodes to cover the rest of the story, but do it well enough to convinces us that Hachiman should end up with Yukinon like in the Light Novel? More likely, the series ends with the confession and leaves out the rest. The prom was more of a mid-season finale and not really at the end of the book. |

Aw man this episode was painful. Iroha is honestly the best dude, this episode for her was amazing. The dance is too much. Poor Yui :( "Does something 'genuine' really exist" Man this line is probably what everyone is thinking. Hiratsuka-sensei with that advice tho. "Your guy's relationship isn't and can't be summed up into one word like codependency." 8man, I would've wifed her up already. Much better than the previous chapters, but once again I feel Yukino gets short changed when it comes to the adaptation. The Romeo Juliet scene was gone. I really the producers are trying to make this more "exciting" and create some tension but everyone knows whats coming. It's been clear for a long time and just requires some honesty from 2 people. Hiratsuka sense once again MVP. How that woman is single is one of life's greatest misteries. |

Fudge, someone please make Hiratsuka-sensei happy! I beg you, whoever that bloody lucky man is, don't take your sweet time and hurry the heck up already! And finally the words that needed to be said are finally out. "You can't fill all your emotions in a single word" - that's exactly right! And, by the looks of the next preview, he might just one up this hurdle finally. Can't wait to see it! Chilling reveal from Haruno-san there but I think most of us were expecting something of the sort, anyway. Tense finish with Hachiman breaking free from Yukino (not literally of course!) there, though. I wonder how things will progress from here on. Nice to see Yukino's mother showing a bit of her motherly side although it could well end up a false front but we'll get more to that next episode so I'll hold off from making more comment on this for the time being. Lol, Hachiman's expressions during the dance though... Finally into the final stretch now! I'm just praying for a fitting conclusion now, honestly. Ending of a story is paramount, and this show is currently right on the tightrope of it. I still love the franchise from the Moon and back though and I still surely will even if the ending is sour, but I'm just saying. |

Bandulf said: Well, thats exactly why people complained about vol 13 being 4 eps, its only a 12 ep anime too, the next ep will actually be fine, last ep is fucked or who knows how they will handle it..A_G_N said: Hellooo_Theeree said: LN reader, what chapter are we at right now? And with the possibility of 3 episodes remaining, assuming they stick to the light novel ending, is it possible for the 3 remaining episodes to cover the rest of the story, but do it well enough to convinces us that Hachiman should end up with Yukinon like in the Light Novel? Or are we going to get a possibly rushed ending where Hachiman did a switcheroo and just switch to Yukino out of nowhere, and end the show, just like what Sing me Yesterday did? Well ... then they have animated exactly half of Volume 14 and 2 more episodes for the rest. Sounds unrealistic to me. |

Is there any possibility we could get an OVA or a movie in the future just to tie-up loose end? |

According to my expectation: The anime ends with the events of Chapter 7 and then shows the credits. Here Hachiman and Yukino finally speak out and the whole drama finally ends. In the rest of the story, Hachiman and Yukino are a couple. She emancipates herself from her parents, they have loads of dates, they throw a second much more prompt prom together and then the real goodbye to Sensai. |

I still had hopes they would try. In my opinion, it would be much better if you took the rest of the time to get Chapter 7 right. Than now desperately to show everything up to chapter 10. How is that supposed to work? |

Great episode. Everything will be settled next episode is what it seems. Hope the ova can cover some of the aftermath and missing closure that will possibly be left in the next two episodes. |

Actually, it was all about the Romeo and Juliet scene. ShiroHachi has already cited the pages in the sixth post. Unfortunately, the core of the action wasn't taken over in the anime ... so you're right, actually nothing happened. |

Hm.. This is first time I see Iroha's running gag as actually maybe understandable and sad thing.. If she says that many guys just confessed to her and stuff, and she had to reject them.. It's understandable then, that when she sees advances - she rejects out right.. It was funny before.. Now I kinda understand, why she does so then.. It's actually a bit sad then.. Well.. Yukino, Yui and Hachiman joining student council.. This can be really one of the way the can continue with their club, to be honest.. Good proposal from Iroha's side, actually.. Very good one.. If that is what they'll want, of course.. But knowing that there is possibility and you're awaited in there is good.. Good to have option.. So.. The end problem is to appease to Haruno?.. For Yukino to get the father's job?.. And what would Haruno want herself, really?.. Something impressive?.. And just what Haruno would want to do in life herself, really?.. Haruno is a bit disappointed that she had to live 20 years of her life doing something she didn't want.. But also.. It doesn't seem like it's too late to start doing something and living somehow how she'd want?.. Yeah, even if Yukino's and Haruno's mom won't accept Yukino as replacement instantly.. It didn't seem she was too against idea, and why would she?.. Yukino still has time to grow into leader and stuff.. As well as, really, Haruno can do whatever she wants and can just abandon family, if it's not the life she wants to live, really.. Maybe in richer class it's harder to do, you'll be followed or something.. But also, if you say strongly that you won't do it, mom won't have choice, but to agree.. How you can force your daughter into ruling business?.. Especially if there is just another one, who would actually want to do that.. Haruno: "I wonder if anything genuine... actually exists." .. Who knows, Haruno.. Maybe genuity is a very floating concept.. As we change all the time, and it's hard to take different positions with others.. So even if today we can speak our heart out.. Tomorrow we'll have different opinion on things, and be afraid of the past we carelessly committed ourselves to.. But.. Maybe that's the thing.. We can again just ask ourselves.. What is it we want again.. To tell.. Or do.. Or something.. Many of the times it'll be completely contrary things.. But if anything.. You really can say about those contrary things.. Or satisfy them in turns.. But in the end.. What is it what Haruno wants?.. And Hachiman?.. And everyone in particular?.. Damn, freaking finally!!! Freaking finally someone tells that codependency is not their relationship! Thank you, Shizuka, I love you as a character! ;D Maybe that's the shortest and best lesson Hiratsuka sensei gave to Hachiman so far, it feels.. Yeah, say no to one pathologizing word! ;P But for real, though.. It feels nice after many episodes of this thing to actually hear the opinion I agree with on this matter I completely disagreed with.. And, I like how episode is named after Hiratsuka.. Though, her this thing really only took a minute to be said.. But the most important thing that happened, actually.. ;P |

Prom went as planned,,,thought it kinda looks more like a graduation ball, since it was those gradating student that were there. So, Yukinon taking over her dad's job......does the OC ever consider that a diet member needs to be elected into office, cu'z Yukinon otosan is a member of the diet... So, the Service Club was about to disbanded, so what's the fuss it's only the 3 of them who were the members? Besides even if the so called club gets disbanded they can always be friends, besides , it's just a club, being together is what's more important. Besides , they're gonna be senior by the next school year... Ya know I think there were time that 8man should just give up to whatever drama shenanigans that them Yukinoshita sibling were having, cu'z it's really making this sequel overrated |

Never read any kind of "Slice of Life" style novels before, but as for me that fragment still was "a lot of words for nothing" type of thing, to be fair. Hachiman's behavior became sorta pussy, even though some guys might consider it as "careful" and "pedantic", let's face it: he's a puss. |
