This show has surprised me this season so far. I've loved every episode.

I love the dynamics and relationships between the characters. But this club doesn't get a break, huh? I hope we see the progress of the members as they continue to practice, but I also hope that we find out more about the female MC in due course. There definitely seems to be something missing, so I hope she opens up soon.

The "villains" and all that is really boring. I think it may be my own fault for expecting something heartwarming

Well, to be honest, the delinquents and VP aren't really villains moreso devices to set up the actual plot. We are still in the prelim stages of the story line -- which is actually really heartwarming.

I had heard it was really similar to Chihayafuru - and I still believe it's going to get -, so I was actually surprised to see mean people and things like that (in a bad way). But Koto seems nice and I'm expecting a lot from the club. The opening also seems to show that everyone has a past of some sorts, which is also interesting. I particularly can't wait to see the other girl...

There are quite a few unlikeable characters at first(some new members who are going to join too), after all the story is about how these flawed characters develop. So don't expect heartwarming vibes all throughout the manga. Later on, when the performances start, yeah then it's going to happen with teamwork and all.

i really hope they dont cut scenes in the manga like this episode did. i wanted to see that one scene where chika pulls satowa away from these guys that were bothering her at the koto concert. it initiates the relationship between the two and it gives more character to them. also idk if its just me but satowa is super strict and mean here like i think she was less rude in the manga or maybe its just been a while since ive read it. anyways, good episode, hope they can portray the series with the same charm the manga had.

I was looking forward to actually hearing the Koto, compared to the manga, but the oh so impressive song the kids played lasted a whole 20 seconds and was overshadowed by groans of the cast.

This is disappointing.

The manga has one, but it will most likely be a very minor part of the story.
Although I was hoping that the romance would involve the actual "main" character, Takezou.

Looking at the character list, there is still a "Hiro Kurusu" that will also join the club, so maybe there is still hope.

Oh yeah, I remember the last time I accidentally bumped into another student and he tried to stab me in the face... huh?

And also... uhm... why didn't they just talk with the principal about the situation with the vice principal? Since the club already have more than five members and the principal himself knows Kudou is a decent guy, I'm sure he wouldn't let the club to be disbanded. Pretty weak in the writing aspect if I'm honest but well...

Another OK episode.

P.S.: I know she will eventually change her attitude but man, what a nuisance Houzuki is being so far.

Hmmmm, ok episode but I'm tired of generic jerks like the vice principal or when the delinquent tries to stab Kudo's friends for no reason. I can't even take them seriously. Also, I don't like that they introduced three characters in one episode but it looks promising.

It seems that Houzuki has mommy issues.

Not a fan of the evil-vice-principal-threatening-to-disband-the-club trope. I get the purpose is to give a sense of urgency and force the members to learn quickly, but I cant help but roll my eyes at this sort of plot.

As for the new members, their presence arent an annoyance (yet) but I hope they arent just there to just be comedic relief or cheer leaders.

Glasses-kun has also been sidelined this episode in favour of more Houzuki. Cant say I mind but its worrying that 3 episodes in we hardly have anything about this dude besides him being wimpy and wanting to continue the club for his graduated senpais.

Nothing bad to say about Chika but Houzuki is definitely the only reason why I'm watching this so far. Weebs be crazy if they really are dropping this show because her. Bet they hate how she isn't another sweet doormat waifu that fawns over a self-insert MC. If anything, her cold personality and curt way of speaking is what makes her appealing. Both because that character type is OBJECTIVELY SUPERIOR TO OTHERS (DONT @ME), and because it means she has a lot of room to grow and develop.

Lastly, the directing continues to be kinda weird with scene transitions feeling awkward and sometimes things are happening too fast to digest. As in, the impact of some scenes are lessened because the show doesnt really give us a moment to breath and take things in, not that its too fast to understand whats going on (lol)

Anyway, I'm surprised no one pointed out this moment. They were hilariously unsubtle with the way it suddenly cuts to this close up shot complete with leg crossing animation and slow pan up to reveal her sadistic darkened eyes expression. And again, cant say I mind 👀

Token fat guy shows up, evil vice-principal wants to shut the club down and there are hints that the female lead has troubling family circumstances. In other words, still pretty generic.

Would've liked to hear more of the grade-school girls' performance.

The three were willing to help but they didn't know how deep they'll be in, now that they seem to sticking around, they're stuck for good! LOL

These koto grade schoolers are brutal and they don't know it! XD

That coincidental and hidden back to back was a good scene. I love that it's always back to grandpa when she mentioned he had a perfect form in the hand he was playing.

Looks like everyone in this school is after Koto club, now they have to give a performance in a month to save their club from disbanding.

Glad to see Chika giving his best effort and also helping out those three.

Things didn't feel as interesting anymore, but that ending was nice. Even if they had the spotlight, Kudou and Houzuki are for sure my favorites. It was such a touching moment when Houzuki told Kudou how his teacher must have been very good.

I'm not sure if I like the sound of Koto for now, but it might change, we haven't heard a lot of them.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!
