I liked Kanon better because they actually gave all the girls a nice amount of focus whereas Air focused just on one really. I do prefer the animation/setting in Air though, Summer > Winter.

If I have time, I'll watch episodes 3 and 4 today. Btw, how is Clannad compared to Air and Kanon? I will probably watch it after I have all of the series.

Clannad has a lot more comedy compared to Air and Kanon. Personally I enjoy it a lot more than the other two.

Clannad leans hard on comedy, and it is very good, but the dramatic quality is no where near the other too. Also, the various girls don't get nearly the screen time that they do in kanon (i guess its kind of like air in that regard). I still enjoy it very much tho, you will laugh a lot.

The main guy has the same sense of sarcastic humor that Yuuichi has in kanon but he goes even further with it.

I've totally been impressed with Air more as it stands...Kannon is bordering on moearded at this point. Does the fact that the story stretches out more with 24 episodes have anything to do with the BANAL? I suppose it'll get better, but I'm tempted to spoil myself for kicks. XD

If you havent watched it all i dont think you should give up on it, around ep 9-10 it starts getting pretty (more) heavy.

I"m still wondering what the hell was last night's episode of Death Note was all about with Matsuda....

Which would you say is better? Air or Kanon. I've seen the first episode of Kanon, which I thought it was okay but I'm a sucker for a romance too every so often.

I liked both, but i think kanon is better. The story seems to be a little bit deeper, a little less predictable, and it has multiple arcs or nearly equally dramatic (air had multiple arcs too but only the main girl's was very emotional for me). kanon did have more eps of course, but for me thats all the more reason it was better probably.

The ending for Kanon was a big payoff for me. Really made me happy about watching the show.

I know Air was meant to be a sad tale but some things in the show seem pointless to me. I have Air the moive so i should watch it as apparently it does a better job of explaining things.

I would say Clanned is better then both of them as the comedy makes it so much easier to watch.

I don't think you've ever gotten that name right. It's Clannad. Since you've typed Clanned 100 times by now, I thought you might want to know that.

But you can't take away my character trait like that. It would be the same as taking away your clinical style. We don't want the cast of this club to lose its identity!

Another question:

So if I got Air the movie, would someone who hasn't seen any of the series understand it right away or do you have to have seen the series to understand it?

Heh, I guess you'll understand it but I wouldn't recommend you watching it anyway. The movie is bad from every perspective, not only that its plot is like a crippled version of the TV but visuals are worse too..

I'm watching it on Anime Network On Demand right now, but I may finish it with fansubs instead. I like it so far, but am kind of confused.

The first few episodes were easy to understand. In the middle episodes, you'll be completely lost to the point to where you question everything they do.

I need to stabilize my anime viewing. I'm all over the place, with over 20 shows. Some I haven't watched for weeks. =/ But I just can't stick to one or two at a time, and most of the time I don't really feel like waiting til a series has finished airing.

Wait, why is California being used as an example of a place that does not have dramatic daily changes in temperature? It happens all the time, not to mention the day/night differences.

As for earthquakes and burning countryside, I've never had a problem with either. Just don't get a place in the middle of nowhere and you'll be fine. If a big earthquake happens, then there will be serious problems but there hasn't been one in a long time.

I see you are all lucky to not be living in Montreal. We get 5C one day, -10C the next and 40 centimeters of snow the day after that. My muscles are tearing apart from all the shoveling we needed to do this winter and it's getting worse with the snowbanks on either side of the roads being 3-4 meters tall. We're well on our way to breaking the previous record of 380 centimeters of total snowfall. I think I'll take sunburns and earthquakes over that any day.

<Ahem>

As for anime, I'm really liking the new Mnemosyne series. Makes me feel all old and nostalgic over the '90's what with its subtle old-school style color use and themes. Lovely series.
