The pacing for this show is the biggest mess I have ever witnessed. I mean seriously, Asuna gets reintroduced into the main storyline again around episode 4 (correct me if I'm wrong), and we're now on episode 8, and we haven't even seen Asuna pop up on the screen since.

For real, no updates about her coming at all? It seems like they forgot she existed or something. This season started off really good, and now it just feels bland again. It doesn't really feel like SAO at all anymore. I think the writing and development is definitely better than previous seasons, but I don't feel attached to the newer characters near at all, so not seeing any of the original characters for this long is pretty disappointing.

Thoughts?

The flow of time is different between reality and Underworld. So, what’s happening now is what occurred in the time between Gabriel login and Asuna login. Nobody has forgotten Asuna, it’s only needed to wait.
Don't show the main characters for a long is a courageous thing to do, also I think is a practice that should be more used in anime, like it’s done in HxH. I believe is great that other charactrs take the scene and lead the series. Main characters are ever main characters, so, you’ll obviously see them come back on the scene.

That makes sense I guess. I still think they could have handled it better. I wish we got to see some of the more known characters from earlier seasons.

I was actually thinking it felt a bit fast with all of the deaths everywhere. I couldn't care less about Asuna. This show is better without her anyway.

Agree. I don't understand why almost everyone is so obsessed with her appearance(like when we will finally appear). I don't miss her at all, this season is doing better without her IMO

This season is basically SAO without Kirito and Asuna, and Alice is the MC

And it's way more enjoyable

It's similar in the novels, goes full TG:re and just introduces a whole bunch of characters and kills them off one by one. Was actually surprised with the pacing though I think it's doing pretty good, originally thought Asuna was gonna show up around ep 6-7

Like I said above the pacing isn't that bad, at least better than the tower part (which was my favourite part of UW) where everything felt like it'd take a maximum of 2mins per fight. It's a shame cause a lot of parts like Bercoulli's introduction were supposed to be more suspenseful but was over in less than a minute

The two enemy arrived and make a huge mess in the alicization world. Assuming that asuna and them dive at the same time, but where the hell is she? I can't keep my cool for only alice, shes mimicking saber from fate damn it. it makes me feel this is Fate and not sao.

Agree, Alicization is better without the Aindcrad characters

It became an action-driven story. Pacing doesn't matter anymore. Fights, battles and whatnot are the main point for now until the ending. Thankfully once Moon Cradle gets animated we're going to have some Kirisuna action.

I personally love Asuna. And see how she developed through history.
At first she was shy and reserved. When she became leader she became a tsundere, and growing up she became a beautiful wife. But when they force her to fight, she becomes a badass.
And UW is a perfect setting to see her again in Badass mode. And even more, like the reunion of Kirito and Asuna in a hostile place, after a long time.

Thx god, I was about to go insane. Imo, Alice is sidechickfag that people praise undeserving. Like Sinon, I don't give a fuck about her backstory. Also, Kirisuna are the only thing I care about.
