Taking into account what they lose if they don't end up in first place, Banana always winning and always repeating the cycle makes her basically a hero. She gave everyone another chance over and over again. Then Hikari appears and destroys the cycle. Very curious to see how this ends.

wasn't a bad ep but idk i just don't like the 2 main characters cause now with this ep everything have become very predictable now....

kinda wish the whole time loop thing never came to be.... but we'll see what happens maybe things can still turn out good

but i feel like its about to be really dumb now... hope i'm wrong

So, in this episode we got Hikari's story. I should've expected that Hikari was fighting her second audition to regain her lost shine. Don't know why I never thought of that after the reveal last episode.

The revue sequences are absolutely fantastic, direction and OST are so strong.

I expected Hikari to eventually beat Banana but I didn't expect that to happen this fast but I guess I can at least accept it as plausible.
I don't think I can accept Karen beating Claudine given that the latter is technically so much better than her. Seems forced and purely for plot convenience. I feel like the weakest point of this show is just Karen, I just don't ever feel that MC charisma coming from her and it feels like she's just winning because that's what we need to progress the plot. I don't know, Karen is just not compelling as a character to me which is a shame since I like pretty much everyone else. xD

Hmm I wonder if the top star in London wished to get all the spotlight with her wish. Hence why Hikari's got reduced. I mean the same didn't happen with Nana's wish in Japan.
Nice episode. I liked how it focused on Hikari and how she won against Daiba Nana. I was wondering this last episode too but I wonder how old Nana is if you include the time loops. It definitely lasted a long time until she started to find a little boring due to never experiencing the exact radiance of the original first year starlight. And Hikari too, she has to have an indefinite amount of time loop years as well.
And I am not sold on Karen winning against Claudine just like that, but okay. She had beeen working hard for for a few episodes, but I think the gap was still there.

Boi the Revue of Solitude was sooo on fire. They threw a fucking Tokyo tower into the middle of the stage and holy shit all that watery effect and shit. The theme track, RE:CREATE, is what really hit me the most though, so beautiful and perfectly fitting of the clash of ideals between Hikari and Nana.

While I don't really support Nana's masterplan I do feel bad for her for having lost, she genuinely wanted the best for the whole team but sadly that's just her own conduct. Like Maya once said they, as the best of the best, have the duty to uphold their title and continue to evolve in order to carry the "weight" from other people (their cheering and chasing).

So, the giraffe got bored and made Hikari to change things up.

Decent episode. Nice battle scenes again.

It was great to have all of this focus on Hikari and listening more of the fabulous Mimorin as a consequence, but can understand some of the previous written comments about power of friendship ruining the final part. Scenery, music, acting etc.etc. is still really good.

If I remember correctly, there hasn't been a single time my favorite character won the revue. Except maybe Maya when she fought Karen ? Pretty sure she was the winner.
So let me fix that : if I remember correctly, there has been only one time my favorite character won the revue (last episode with Nana doesn't count, it's a special case). Which wouldn't be that much of a problem if it weren't for the fact that the winner always wins for stupid reasons. I really like Hikari but there is no way she defeated Nana who's been top star for so long. It's even more annoying to think that Hikari isn't top star yet and will have to defeat Karen in order to become the one. I mean, Nana has been portrayed as the unbreakable top star, and she loses just like that without even being the final boss ? Yup that's frustrating.
That said, I'm pretty sure the real reason Nana got defeated is either because she willingly gave up or because the time loop has mentally and physically exhausted her, or both. I could be wrong, but it really did look like it. But it still doesn't change the fact that Hikari is on her way to become top star along with Karen when neither of them actually deserve it.

Now don't get me wrong I'm enjoying this show a lot. These last two episodes have been particularly interesting, though I'm afraid last episode's twist will not serve much purpose in the end considering that I really expected Nana to be the final boss, so to see her being taken out of the picture so easily, and by a much less interesting character, is quite hard to swallow-it doesn't help that Banana has become my favorite character out of the whole cast. I really wanted to see more of her as an antagonist. Though when I think about it, even if she's been defeated chances are we'll get to see the aftermath and how this has impacted her which can still be very interesting.

So what I mean overall is that the show has a lot of very interesting concepts (a lot is clearly borrowed from Madoka but that's not a problem at all), but its quality is affected by that "power of friendship" thing some characters display, as well as the main character syndrom Karen heavily suffers from. It's always something very frustrating to me, when a show is full of interesting and complex characters but said characters get constantly defeated by the less interesting ones not because they're stronger but because they're the main characters (though I'm saying that but sometimes they don't even need to be the main characters to be the underserving winner, Kaoruko being the proof-though I can still argue she was a more important character than Futaba).

Well, with four episodes and a movie left I can still be pleasantly surprised, I really hope I will. I'm looking forward to how things will go from here, this show has a very good reputation so I'm hopong I'm just judging it too early.

(Also, I needed to point that out : as a Steins;Gate fan, a character nicknamed "Banana" being responsible for a time loop is hilarious to me.)
