| Those references were so on point xD It was a fun OVA although not at the same level of craziness of some other segments from the main series. But overall, it was nice to see more of the girls. The brief appearance of Maeda and the segment with the teacher and her friends when they were at high school were also very nice. I repeat myself but well, I really hope this gets a second season anytime soon. |

| That amount of references! Pretty hilarious, really do hope for a second season because this is just hilarious! Really liked that extra live cast part as well actually, reminds me of a lighter version of Gaki No Tsukai for some reason :'D |

| So many reference packed in 13 minutes video. Back to the future, Titanic, Yugi's hair, and I'm sure have seen that Hanako's face style somewhere. The adult's past scene contains nostalgic tech like pager, mobile phone with long antenna, and that iMac G3. |

| It was short but I liked it a lot nonetheless! There were a lot of references here and the most shameless one being an Evangelion scene made it very amusing for me. Chi-chan and her friends making a letter to themselves that ended up being thrown out eventually reminds me of those future me letters I've written in school events. I'd love to see a second season from them! |

| Literally loled at the NGE reference, when I saw then clapping with the cloud background I thought "lol that looks like eva" but then they dropped that Shinji faced Hanako, almost died. Also WTH with Hanako cutting her legs and only caring about not being able to return the outfit that came with a bloody bullet hole, does she not feel pain? |

| Almost cried with all the references. I don't think any anime has ever made me laugh as much as Asobi Asobase. This OVA and the specials were equally good with the main series. 10/10 as usual, and waiting for season 2~ |

| It's so good to see an anime comedy in which the reference points for the humor come from the real world, and global culture, rather than anime. The style of humor feels more accessible than most other anime comedy, and I swear to God this must be the only anime in the world that references Vietnam War protestors lol The performance is so good- I just die at Hanako's moshi mosh and knocking on Olivia's head- btw Olivia, you're the 'American' here, you're supposed to know movies lol |

| One of the references that might not be as readily noticed by Western fans was when they mention having a big gun with the sailor suit. The initial pose and gun outline is pretty much a direct reference to the 1981 Japanese film "Sailor Suit and Machine Gun". Apparently it's still well-known in Japan and has received two TV series (1982 and 2006) along with a 2016 "spiritual sequel". Vader_ said: The fuck, how did they get Google Chrome in the 80s? While Titantic indeed came out in 1997 it was in theaters for a long time after (October 1998 in North America). The original iMac was released in August of 1998, so this would likely be summer or early fall of 1998. So if they had one at the time, it had just come out. Google, however, wasn't even founded as a company until 1998. We were still using Altavista at the time, although Google was so much of an improvement that it started to take over almost immediately. Chrome wouldn't be released until 2008. |
