Interesting mood this episode. On one hand you have the sheer joy of Anne enjoying her vacation, playing with Diana on the beach. But, on the other you have an ill Matthew that the Cuthbert's keep from her in order to not worry her. So, I guess Melancholic is a good way to describe this.
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."

Damn I know Anne will pull through by relaxing and having a good time but I'm scared for Matthew.

Never quite noticed how much Anne aged until the brief flashback to Anne losing her temper at Mrs. Lynde. The aging process was incredibly slow and subtle, it happened before I knew it and wasn't out of place. Something a coming of age story from ages 11-17 should master and that's what it did. Gives a real feel of genuine passing of time that improves the already fantastic immersion.

These last 35 episodes were a joy to watch but I feel the remaining episodes are gonna be heartwrenching, poignant, and an 11/10 experience I will never forget. It's stirring shit in my heart I've never felt before in any other anime series, including Spice and Wolf.

First red flag for Matthew.
Although his workload should have been reduced since they hired Jerry to help him. Looks like it wasn't enough.

And have it really been 6 years already?
I only recall seeing 3 winter so far.

Edit: It have been 3 years so far, Mrs. Lynde even says so at the end.

NOOOOOOOO if Mathew dies I am going to DESTROY THE ENTIRE WORLD

on the other hand, it's so beautiful how much anne has grown and matured. Shes emotionally stronger, more levelheaded and so responsible now. What's equally beautiful is how marilla has changed into a more relaxed happier person because of anne. Her trust in anne at this point has gone from none existant to completely unconditional, without a word ever being said about that explicitly.

The further I get in watching this show the less and less I want it to be over. It's been amazing watching Anne and all the characters grow up and I know I'm gonna miss them all when they're gone
