About time this British Royal Family arc features other more noticable characters. The one that was very local is Carissa. No doubt this was more of a buildup episode for the arc. I think Touma feels kinda out of place there lol

Oriana is also back! Holy shit it's been so long I almost forgot about her in the franchise. Poor Touma, he ends up being attacked by Lessar while other members of New Light makes their move.

This arc really took off.

I think that was pretty decent, liked the action. After always reading it as "New Light" interesting to hear it as "Arata no Hikari". Baylope vs Itsuwa was pretty cool, Floris defeat was also offscreen in novel, i think so. The chase after Lessar was also pretty decent.

Laughed at the photo part how the princesses wanted to get into the photo and Queen Elizard ... Forgot that part so was a really nice reminder.

For some reason didn't think that we'll be already at this point, that was so quick while don't think a lot was cut off.

Touma's reference to the maid outfit though lol. A visit to the palace eh Touma sure is moving up in the world. The attitude of the queen and the princesses sure were rather unique. The photo scene was pretty amusing. The queen despite being a barrel of laughs sure is cunning at the right moments though. Nice to see Oriana again and as a ally no less. Bayloupe sure proved to be a tough opponent even for Itsuwa though her comeback sure avenged her defeat. Its was nice seeing everyone work together to catch the girls though. That was quite the item that they ended up carrying though. The ending though was quite the surprise a coup attempt by the second princess huh. Decent episode that did well in introducing the new characters while combining action with healthy levels of humour.

Mixing up a case with not one but two others, then causing a ruckus and then conveniently encountering Touma and one of the past girls who just gets reintroduced out of no where. Hmm...

Considering how the show hasn't given me any reason to care about Carissa or the knight leader, the end reveal was pretty meh.

A good episode again, the pace remained good (compared to the previous arcs), Itsuwa's fight against Bayloupe had some well done scenes.
The comedy scenes made me laugh a lot, especially with Elizard.

It's time to make Britain great again!

This British Halloween arc along with the Acqua of the Back arc were some of the better adapted ones so far. The start of the season was so disappointing I almost dropped it despite waiting 10 years for this, but I'm glad I continued watching it. It's like J.C. Staff finally remembered how to pace the story again (though the animation quality still has much room for improvement).

Well the girl with the tail almost screwed up at what she was doing.
But she somehow succeeded in whatever she was doing, the other girls where disappointing as well.
Tho what could we expect from a bunch of girls who where driving a Suzuki WagonR.

All of the princesses really wanted to be part of Touma's selfie, even the queen herself. Although for her, she got rugby-tackled instead. What a rowdy bunch they are. XD

I'm liking this arc more than I thought I would. Not just because I'm British myself, but the pacing is decent, the humour scenes are still funny and the action animation, especially with Itsuwa against Bayloupe in the Underground tube Station was nicely done.

I wasn't really expecting the second princess to be behind the coup attempt, though. With her being successful in gaining the original Curtana sword, things will be tense for the next episode, I'm guessing. I'm looking forward to it, as always. =3

The pacing is going too fast.

Why did only Itsuwa go fight the New light girl in the underground when they were all with her...

How did Touma meet Oriana?

What’s Index’s role in this? I swear she better not be reduced to a useless damsel in distress who gets shafted this arc.

Oriana is bae, but it annoys me how Touma doesn’t seem to care about her past actions anymore or her not being punished. It’s why her switching sides feels forced.

Carissa is busty Morded 2.0?! I was expecting her to reveal Excalibur from the suitcase, but meh.

With the culprit fleeing into a narrow tunnel with one nearby entrance, having everyone run in where they will be lined in in a row for easy targeting isn't very smart. It makes more sense to send someone in and have the others you for other New Light members or guard the exits.

Touma works with Kanzaki just fine, and is only hostile to Stiyl because he is hostile back. Touma even risked his life to save someone who tried to kill him earlier. He is not the type to hold past actions against a person. Oriana is also a mercenary, so she never had a side to begin with.

Lmao, Touma feeling out of place in the Palace.. Honestly can't blame him. However that royal family sure is a strange one, making such a fuss about photo's XD

New Light seems to be quite the serious group, until you meet Lessar. She almost screwed up her job but in the end actually succeeded until someone wanted to get rid of her! I like her though... (that Tail though, I wonder why she has that)

So the Second Princess, Carissa is behind it all, didn't see that coming.

Animation budget ran out, they can't animate that many characters.

Touma and Orianna are paired together, that's it.

She is the official magic exposition dump, literally, she's called back to London to provide an official magic report.

Touma doesn't care about pasts, its his main trait, he is a complicated man (not that you can see it in anime form), so he really doesn't gave a shit about what you did, only what you are doing. Orianna also can betray him the very next day, and he wouldn't really care. They aren't long term friends or eternal enemies.

Carissa came out in 2009, mordred came out 2012, anyone who says carissa copied mordred deserves to have their brain dozed in bleach. Cause you fail math.

Wrong, got it backward, Carissa came first, if anything, its Mordred's design copying her.

I wasn't trying to say they "copied" the design, just saying she looked familiar as I saw Fate/Apocrypha last year and now see Carissa for the first time.

I dropped this from a 6 to a 5. At this point the only thing keeping me watching it is to finish the series based on my investment of the first few seasons.

The pacing is completely off. Everything is inconsistent. It's a bunch of short stories forcefully tied together.

I gave the first two seasons a 10 and high scores for Railgun. Maybe my standards were low back then, or maybe it really has just fallen that much. I want to finish this season, but I don't know how I'm going to handle 15 more episodes of this.

Just drop it if you aren't going to read the novels, currently we breezed through 24-36 eps worth of content already, all contexts have been cut.

If you actually think the magic side stuff are all inconsistent and short stories tied together rather than one big narrative then you quite literally need to watch s1 and s2.

Well that whole conversation between Lidvia and Stiyl in the first arc was pretty much about freeing Oriana which was unneeded since she started helping them to protect the weak

I wonder who's all those photographers taking pictures of, at the beginning?

I think the selfie scene was the best and my favorite part out of this whole series.

I'm happy to see Oriana back, and teasing Touma was funny to see. I hope they have more of her, as well other seldom seen characters Touma's punched in the face before.

As for Touma, he really gets around the world. For a supposedly normal high school boy, he's traveled all around the world to places like France and England, meeting the heads of state and rubbing shoulders with literal royalty.

The story is so rushed and contrived.

Touma came to England hired to help against planned coup de etat which revealed to be Carissa.
Touma doesn't know anything what he supposed to do, he even mentioned it in anime.

In previous episode, New Light aka the Thot shenanigans shown them coming to England from Edinburgh, Scotland is after excavating Curtana Original.
Elizard (Queen) said something about holding the Curtana second when they first introduced themselves and Kanzaki explaining it as another Magical property that almost have matching power as Archangel Michael.

After introduction with the 3 Princesses , they talked about Skybus incident that have luggage of resources to help France.

Man i could do all day explanation but you might as well go to wikia or read the LN to understand the context.

Gah i wasted my time here when i realised i spend minutes trying to explain shit.

It's practically the downside of adapting LN.
There's no way you can explain all of it with such amount of episode.
Avignon alone may take 5 episode to be done properly.

while i can't deny your first statement I think you should view this 'short stories' as a part of the ongoing cold(so far) war between the Catholics and Academy City/Anglicans. Everything will make sense in the end. Well, if the adaptation doesn't go more awry as it has in the Battle Royale arc.

I meant...... just one arc have a decent pacing is hardly to make the anime sound great at all, overall this season is just mediocre at best in my opinion.

Terra is just mediocre due to some stuffs was rushed, Battle Royale arc was a completely disaster (Well since you already know my opinion about that arc, I won't said more about this), Acqua while have some mirror stuffs skipped it's still enjoyable and the pacing was decent too, I won't say much about British Royal Family arc since the arc is just started but the pacing is fine so far.

Well, Terra in general is mediocre lets not pretend here, but they didn't really cut a whole lot that I honestly remember being important other than the rest of that baseball scene which people here don't seem to like anyways.
Now if we're talking about how they chose to visually represent things with the riots then that's a whole other discussion, but I think I get why they pussied out on it
