Liking this quite a bit more than Progressive |
| This episode felt like a slice of life with Haruko in it, which I'm down for. Saw a few people saying Mossan's design didn't deserve to win in the first place, but I sure thought Haruko looked sexy in it. |

| Mossan didn't succeed at design and now she wants to be a model. Pretty ambitious dream, good luck girl! Haruko rapping was definitely a highlight of this episode. |

| This show would honestly be much better if they stopped trying to emulate the sorta goofy spontaneity of the original. Like it worked so well in flcl cause it was truly spontaneous, plot elements and animation styles were tossed in the blender cause they fuckin felt like putting it in. in alternative it just feels forced and kinda depressing. Very much prefer Progressive because its insanity felt a bit more straight-faced most of the time (not that it wasn't goofy too). And yeah it was kinda hard to follow at times but imo there was a pretty clear central character arc + clearer themes that this one kinda lacks rn |

| Yeah, I still don't really know about this. So far I think it's better than Progressive, but I absolutely HATED Progressive. The problem is, while the characters are well written, I don't think they're very interesting... and the character design and overall art is just so bland compared to the original. It makes the whole thing just feel kind of devoid of style... as if Haruko invaded some standard slice-of-life series about a group of four average schoolgirls. It doesn't help that each episode's plotline has been pretty mundane thus far, with some FLCL randomness thrown in here & there for seemingly no reason. Such as Haruko's rap... it just felt forced and kind of lame. The whole plot also just kind of feels like it has no real direction. Why is anything happening? What are the main plot threads? It's episodic to a fault. There's no mystery being carried over from episode-to-episode, nothing for the viewer to question, really... aside from those giant pins stuck in the ground. In any case, it's just failed to capture my interest. |

| This may be one of the worst anime I've ever seen. It's damn near unwatchable. Both ep 2 and 3 had broken narratives where the viewer is pissed at the values of the show and then they pull back at the last minute. This is like Trigger-lite, no sugar, no carbs, no calories, Trigger-zero. It's also written by a marketing committee, or somebody messed up. The most disingenuous anime. |
| Alright so compared to the first 2 'episodes' (since this is one long movie, but still sort of has next ep previews) this one was pretty shit. Mossan's problems felt much more forced compared to Hijiri's. Is that fat family an attempt at endearing the American audience? because if so that's absolutely hilarious. |
| Taking the spotlight away from the real winner was a pretty dick move, tbh. Everyone worked her ass on design too. |

| This show is really sweet and cute. ;o;; I often feel there's an empty spot in my heart for anime that just show girls being best friends in a genuine way. FLCL Alternative does well to remedy that. I quite like the dialogue between everyone as well. |
| Am I the only one thinking that Haruko's rap was kinda cringe and didn't suit her at all? I guess they just try to throw in some Haruko randomness into this SOL show to make it feel like FLCL, but it kinda doesn't and feels like a different anime altogether. Well, at least the ED is really sweet and well-made. |
