I loved the faces Nagatoro made when she saw Senpai's drawing lmao. And the way she ran after him was hilarious. She looked so happy doing it, it was some kind of cute.

I think this is why this manga deviates from a lot of the other common tropes we see in Japanese media. And rightfully so.

In most cases, if a female character stumbled upon sketches of her like that, she'd be flustered (which Nagatoro was)... but then the female character would either be creeped out, or flattered but distant, and there'd be awkward tension.

Nagatoro (who is arguably far out of Senpai's league) saw something like this -- a peak embarrassment factor -- and charged after Senpai with a display of genuine bliss on her face. (Something you won't see in many anime or manga.) Some of her expression looked as if she were just excited to bully him about it, but a lot of what was there was flattery and joy, so much so that she had to confront the male lead about it immediately and without any emotional drawbacks.

Maybe I'm overcomplicating things, but clearly I'm right because a few other people in the forum pointed out the undeniable happiness in discovering the sketch.

I don't know. Whatever the heck I'm reading is just such a breath of fresh air. A new kind of relationship dynamic that (I'm sure most demographics) aren't regularly accustomed to. Excited to keep on readin.

Pretty amazing that he can draw her so well based on memory alone. Cool that drew her as Nekotoro from his dream in Chapter 9, included with her friends and Nagatoro's jealousy.

This chapter deserves to go in the manga hall of fame. The rest of the chapters are about as good, but this one is so good that it passes the hall of fame threshhold.
