Lol I can't help it but the baseball gimmick in this show feels awkward for the story.

Seems like an episode with background storytelling about Mao and Ling. I kinda feel like this episode came a bit late but still better than never. The background story itself wasn't too pleasing to see with how kids are treated when isolated from society.

Best episode so far imo. It really gave a harsh reality of how these assasins are made.

Lin's backstory was pretty brutal and sad.

I felt a little happy that he was able to find a friend in that facility but it all turned out for naught at the very very end. :(
Looks like the red haired dude is still alive.

It was really nice to have the entire episode dedicated to the backstory. It was a really sad backstory, I feel bad for the character, but that's the type of tragedy-style I really enjoy.

Wow....

This episode had my heart beating so fast... I sorta of predicted the betrayal at the but still it was a really good episode. Yeah Lin backstory of the concentration camp makes me shiver... They don’t really bring it up but Lin is from like north north China ... they don’t mention him speaking mandarin or anything :/... idk

I know... his mother probably died as well. At least he was this group now :/

Lin saying pampered as hell at The was just ... ahhh. I really love this show.
Snkusnkjsnikdniod I can’t explain

Sad but beautifully written story. I kind of expected the betrayal?
I can't believe this anime will end after 3 eps :/
I hope it will get a second season with backstories of the other characters, like they did with kekkai sensen.

So Lin's partner turned out to be Akashi from Kuroko no Basket? Can't really ignore that hair and eye colour :D

All in all, this anime is one of my favourites this season for sure.

Pretty good episode showcasing some more backstory for Lin. I feel bad for him for what he has gone through. Looks like his partner is still alive.

The school/prison system Lin was training in and the episode entirely reminds me of the similar system from evil or live and i didn't quite like that anime so this didn't really go well in my books. Not to mention that they pulled Obito with that redhaired guy which doesn't really make sense since they legit had to kill their opponent so i'm guessing that they checked if he really died after the fight. I don't know, maybe they thought fuck it both of these kids are good for only one of them to be in this job.

Well, we see lin's back story I guess, the betrayal part was quite expected, although I had hoped it was more brutal, I mean they were forced to kill each other, I kinda expected a betrayal where they are running away and redhead betrays lin just to slow the guards or for the fun of it.
In that case I was thinking can you really blame him for trying to kill? It's a matter of survival, well they made him into a psychopath just to make sure you know he's the villain, but otherwise had they made him a completely normal boy that just wanted to survive this would have been much more interesting.

Buuuut that wouldn't go with the way this show has been up to now, it goes a bit dark but not too much, just a taste of it, and 1 episode later everyone's happy and playing baseball, and in the end I guess that's what I like about this show.

I just don understad why Lin sister had to be taken from the happy life she was having, be raped and beaten to death. Thats make no fucking sense.

That didn't meant any thing to the story, she was the reason he accepted the jobs and now he has nothing. But guess what, Lin still living like a KILLER.

It's no surprise tbh, they're the top team after all, the organization probably spared him, I wouldn't waste such talent too

Wow....It's not the betrayal that gets me. It's the fact that the training forces you to partner up with someone for 5 years where you get to know one another and work together. And then the final exam is not an assignment to assassinate someone or kill another team or defeat a superior. The final exam is to kill the person that you have come to know for the past 5 years. Betrayal or no betrayal, that is fucked up...

So Feilang is still alive. Looks like we know where this story is going to be heading...

I really liked Lin's backstory, but I always find these "kill your partner" final exam kind of things to be really dumb. They spent all this time and resources training these kids just to kill off half of em. Seems like a dumb decision, especially when it's the top team like Lin's was. I guess you could agree it "removes your humanity" which is important for a good assassin, but it still feels wasteful.

Apparently this organization had the same feelings as they managed to save Lin's partner anyway. Looks like he still holds a grudge.

great episode, as it shows how an assassin is being trained. And it also serves as a backstory for Lin. What a tragic life he has been during his childhood and teenage days...

*and by the way his friend who he just beat up in the final exam is still alive...

Okay were going back to Lin's problems. They never really went over his backstory. One hell of a time but he was quite the powerful kid, him and the red haired dude, too bad every slightly significant character outside of the main cast is kind of an asshat.

A more put together telling of Lin's backstory rather than brief flashbacks of important moments. I dug it

What a harsh and extremely difficult past that would definitely take away your humanity at the flashback of young Lin-chan a.k.a Maomei.
Looks like Feilang is still alive after all and would surely take revenge against Lin-chan!
5/5.

What a sad backstory. Ling has been through a really shitty childhood.. can't be helped he has trust issues. Banba won't betray him so I hope he gradually opens up to him T_T Can't see how Fei-Lang survived this after getting stabbed. I hope this gets explained. Seems like there's trouble for Ling regardless

So he didn't choose to be an assassin, but was trained to be one for money. So sad that the roommate betrayed him for survival and he had to kill the comrade he trusted.
