Highly doubt it considering even the people in Japan were mocking it and even some of the people that actually works on anime, soooo...

Why. Why. Is it popular in Japan? I don't mind male idol anime, but lately they have been so bland and boring and somehow are getting sequels.
Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.
Noragami is the best anime ever.

So TsukiPro's getting a sequel before TsukiUta, I wonder if at least more of the TsukiUta members will make a vocal appearance in the new season.

As much as I don't want to admit it, this is true. Like, I loved Starmyu and SideM this season has a lot of heart IMO. I'd rather have a second season of SideM.

On one hand, I'm happy that more anime aimed at females are getting sequels, but on the other hand, I wish they had more quality.

Made me happy to see someone mentioning Starmyu :') although it's more strictly a musical anime rather than an idol one. And yeah Proani left much to be desired as an anime. But Tsukipro franchise overall has a larger following than Starmyu. They've been around much longer, even before they made it to anime, so there's that...

Tsukipro is the brainchild of an employee at Movic which deals with anime merchandise. IINW it was their first foray into original content (and that employee writes almost all scenarios and everything related). This franchise basically exists as a way to sell merchandise from what I can see (hey tsukiusas every episode) so it makes sense that they'll keep making the show as long as the sales are good.

That is not entirely true. Tsukiuta was born as an idea of a single person like you said, but the franchise doesn't "exist as a way to sell merchandise". She created it because she truly wanted to make good content and good songs, with down-to-earth idols, something comfortable and not too dramatic or over-the-top. If someone is interested, I translated an interview with her here.
I understand this anime might be a bit difficult to get into for first-timers because it's a continuation of the timeline that started 3 years ago with the first drama CDs, instead of adapting them. And this means many things already happened, and all the relationships are built up. However, I really encourage people to give it a try to get to know the characters, because they're truly amazing and not stereotyped for an idol show. And the music is the best and most diverse of all idol series out there.

As for the second season, I'm so happy!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. Thank you tsukipro for my life ;_;

@nairy

Sorry, I didn't mean to say that she created the series purely to sell merchandise. I should've phrased that better because reading what I wrote sounds like an insult to her. More clearly I want to say that it's the company she belongs to. They will give the greenlight as long as it moves sales, and they approved her idea because they can sell merchandise off it. There is nothing wrong with that since that is business. I was trying to answer why it's 'somehow' getting a sequel.

I will be too confused if it even can sell unless event tickets.
That anime gave me too much shock and nausea I'm unable to look at it a 2nd time. And this is coming from a Dynamic Chord fan like me. It wasn't this worse with MG4. Who to blame?

I don't really know who to blame but its all caused of the massive outsource contract from what I remembered. There was an article on sakugabooru that states the core problems with Dynamic Chord.

Found it, here's the link if you want to read: https://blog.sakugabooru.com/2017/11/27/dynamic-chord-this-is-how-anime-breaks/

@Wasshio Thanks for the article. This explains well why Dynamic Chord is all over the place and why it gave me nightmares. This can happen to any anime in the future I fear. I hope no more disasters upon male idols anime.

@komasan

I see what you meant now! And yes I guess that's right, but probably the bigger amount of sales come from the CDs (and the anime effect is helping a lot). Still, any kind of sales is more than welcome if it means it can get a sequel!

Surprised Tsukiuta still doesn't have any sequel yet but I'm happy for this!

The anime is for fans of the drama CDs so if you're not into the characters/units already, of course you'd find it bland.

Tsukiuta sequel is not happening for now because A) Pierrot+ will be busy with lots of projects next year like Sanrio Danshi and Tokyo Ghoul:re and B) The director is working on a BL web manga Mahou Shoujo Ore which will also be produced at Pierrot+.

This can be the entire Tsukino Production groups though, as technically Tsukiuta is franchise of the title. I'm hoping for Glico and Vazz groups to appear too. Well, I'm not a fan of the girls though but as a fan o Gravi and Procella, I truly loved SOARA, Quell, Growth and Solids, in that order and the anime was very entertaining even more than SideM. Starmyu is still the best for me and looking forward for Idolish7 next week. It has the most following and highly anticipated anime for male idol animes. :)

A3 anime when?
