Wow, so many anime DVDs and goods.

The student council really is persistent. Erika appears to me to be the member that puts the most effort into the club tbh. It's also kinda interesting to see a bit of her past. She seemed like a different person back then compared to now. I guess anime really helped build her confidence. The anime club definitely deserved their praise and maybe this will change the student council's impression on them from now on.

Well someone want to tave the club down but it seems they are making themselves useful even if that wasn't their plan.
Well it was nice that they managed to make nice outfits for the acting club.

All those references lol, And when they were speaking about how anime is making money, i felt kind of bad lol ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

Looks like there is some history between Erika and Tsubaki, i hope we will see more from this. And i bet that the true culprit behind all those attempts to shoot down the anime club is that fat teacher.

But that "Numazon" won this episode.

340000 yen on anime bds lol, do these clubs even have that much money at their disposal over there? The club shut down trope is getting boring though.
Minoa is confusing rl with anime more and more.

Anime-gataris Episode 4 Impressions:

I really liked this episode of Animegataris. The fourth episode’s first quarter talks about how the anime industry makes profit from Blu-Ray sales. I love how the rest of the club members enthusiastically help educate Minoa slowly by discussing interesting topics about anime. I hope deeper anime topics will be explored. Perhaps the club could explore more behind the scenes stuff such as anime production or even seiyuus from an anime fan’s perspective. I am very sure I will get some interesting perspectives with all of these club members.

The next quarter of the episode mostly focuses on Erika and how she faces the situation of the anime club shutting down through helping other school clubs. Although the other club members have failed to contribute, Erika’s time to shine comes when the drama club need help with cosplay. I love how Kouki helped Erika with cosplay by showcasing different clothing designs from idol anime. He even explains a general summary of what stories in idol anime are in the most fabulous way possible.

I also get to see Erika’s backstory on how she really shared her passion through meeting cosplaying friends in the United States. Can I just something about this that I find kind of jarring before I talk about Erika further? PreFae (a PreCure parody) seems to air on live TV in the United States, which helped Erika kindle her cosplay interests. The thing is though, the actual PreCure series is exclusive only on a streaming service in Netflix in the United States.

PreCure did not come in the U.S. until Smile PreCure came to Netflix as Glitter Force in 2015. It is just the way the Animegataris staff perceives the U.S. point of view of magical girl anime that I find it inaccurate. They could have parodied Cardcaptors or Tokyo Mew Mew (And also point out the 4kids edited versions of them for fun), but I do not find it to be a huge issue anyway. The point of Erika’s backstory is pretty easy to understand, I just think this is something interesting to point out.

Not only is Erika’s origins of cosplay covered, but also the relationship between her and Tsubaki when they were childhood friends loving the PreFae anime. I will be honest, while I do find that interesting, Tsubaki feels very mechanical as a character. So far, her purpose in the anime is to oppose the anime club in a VERY cliche way. I hope her character gets explored more in a way I can understand her intentions of shutting the anime club down. Based on the synopsis of this anime, I think it will have to do with the apocalypse subtly hinted in the end of each episode. Tsubaki is not a big problem to me though, as the club members drive the show with good fun and interest anyway.

Overall, this was good. I am wondering. With these discussions about anime in the club, will Minoa be able to confidently talk about her taste in anime? As Minoa is learning more about anime through the club, what kind of person is she going to be by the end of the series. What topics and perspectives could Minoa have when she is fully developed as a character? I look forward to these next episodes.

Why the heck she spent the school money to buy the BD. She even quotes the famous gyan from Do**emon. Her family is rich, and looks her parents are not opposed to her watching the anime.

People in USA talking Japanese. They are not even trying. When the girls asked Erika that question it loses its meaning, if they speak Nihongo. This anime is average in all aspects, but it still beats many of this season anime.

Yes, that was definitely a reference to Aikatsu. The axe chopping and the ost which highly resembles to the "transformation" theme music to Aikatsu. Not to mention, the music composer of Anime-gataris, Keigo Hoashi, is actually the one who composer some of the Aikatsu music as well.

Ah, good to know! When I saw the chopping, I instantly thought of Aikatsu but I didn't know about the composer. It's so nice to see a reference of Aikatsu. References of Precure are used quite often, so I was surprised to see something related to Aikatsu. Finally!

This episode was actually pretty neat, as it talked about the production of the anime industry as well as BDs.

Though this is kind of funny considering based on their production while it isn't terrible they don't have the best quality of the artwork (its still cute). When I think about it the show never stops to amaze me.

Bcs they have a great set of cast but the Seitokaichou isn't one of it. Man she's boring as f.

Why does this feel like Gamers! Done right with an anime theme instead of a gaming theme?? Its not complete bullshit and they stick with their theme as a central part of the story instead of just a tag along gig like they did in Gamers! Where it turned into a missunderstanfing infested romcom with a small gaming references here and there. Animegataris on the other hand uses the theme to its fullest, thus far at least.
Lets hope it doesnt kill itself like Gamers! By strayibg away from the awsome theme they got going!

That was quite the outfit Erika was wearing to promote the club.

That is a lot of spending throughout this episode, combined it would be close to $7000 in my currency.

I had a feeling in the in the last episode that president Tsubiaki & Erika had some kind of past which is why she really wants to shut down the anime club.

I do NOT SHIP HER with Nakano AT ALL. But hey, episode was good, turns out the anime club is not completely useless... they can make clothes, and they can probably draw some dang good hentai as well as make some crappy fan-fictions if they put their minds to it.

On that note, this anime is turning out to be more educational than I imagined.

Now being serious, what I like about this show is how they talk about usual stuff you can encounter in anime, just to use exactly that in its own story, like being so close to failing just to make it work at the end by the power of friendship or having an organization/mastermind behind the scene that is conspiring against them. It is a meta experience IMO, doesn´t make it a masterpiece but it´s definitely fun to watch.

It's my first time listening to the ED and I realized how lovely it is just like this anime's OP. Please be available on iTunes soonest! I bet that idol fanboy member of their club will love that ED so much. Haha.

Ugh. This show is so informative when it comes to anime industry. Love it. It enlighten me more, so thanks for that, show. I wonder who's the production committee members of countless anime ruined when it was adapted. Lmao.

Arisu bought 200,000 worth of anime DVDs on Numazon (Amazon) using her money. Jeez. I need all of them, or at least let me choose. ;-; Anyhoo, the student council found another way to take them down.

The Anime Club assisted the other clubs in their school, but they did horribly, but they successfully assisted the Drama Club in creating their costumes. Glad Erika is a member of theirs; she's a cosplayer, and she makes her own costumes. Damn. And the Drama Club was so thankful to them. Aww. <3

The way Erika defended anime hit me right in the feels, like goddamn. "Anime saved me when I was alone, studying abroad. It's not true that anime doesn't create anything. Anime creates a lot of things. Not just things, but bonds between person and person." <3

And like that the Student Council President gave in and didn't abolish their club. Lmao. Apparently, Erika and Tsubaki (the SC President) were good friends. What happened to them, though?

Anyhoo, very good episode. 5/5. <3

P.S. Nyanko-senpai's wisdom this episode is everything, maan. Hahaha.

"Anime, back in the day, had people become idols with just a bit of magic. It was so filled with dreams! Idol anime these days have them legit practicing and auditioning. Tough times we live in."

It's called reality, Neko-senpai. Haha.

"Maybe he's trying to take a shit, but the shit just won't come out."

References I found (just few): Evangelion, KonoSuba, Love Live, PreCure.
Again, Student Council being a bit of a villain to the aniclub.
Arisu will indeed help a lot on the anime industry buy buying a lot of BD disk and merch!
So Erika is a childhood friend of the student council pres Tsubaki.
Aniclub still survives! as long as they contribute to the schools other help needing of other clubs as well!
4/5.

Unfortunately, after spending all my money on figures and other anime merch, I'm never able to buy the actual BDs. But maybe a manga collection someday...

Yeah, already 25, I'm probably never gonna grow out of this hobby. I'm sure it'll slow down eventually if I ever find another career or hobby I love, but I'll make time for anime when I can. :)

Also this show is super informative, which is cool, and so many references, but I wish they would...show a little less of the boring student council.

So many DVDs and merch :O I didn't really like the conflict, is it just gonna be people trying to shut down the club again and again? >_< I liked learning about Erika's past though, she's one of my favourite senpais. I knew she was friends with Tsubaki in the past, but I guess something happened between the two of them. The costumes were nice but I highly doubt you can make so many in one night ;P I guess the new mystery is who that person Tsubaki was talking to on the phone is ... who takes shutting down a high school club this intensely?! Wasn't bad episode I guess, finally some sort of dramedy. Steins;Gate, Hikaru no Go, Teekyu and other anime, this time almost every scene was a reference to something.

First I thought I was watching educational anime (not that I didn't know everything already) and the next time they loved lived and save their club.

Have to say that the bit of character developement between Erika and Tsubaki actually uped this anime for me as finally we have got something to be interested in for future episodes.

Also lol, the part where Kai blew up the baking club is funny. But I like how this anime is like a parody-esque Shirobako anime, where they teach us about the anime production, but they also teach us about the people who loves anime.
