B-E-A-Utiful I wasn't going to give this a perfect 10 but damn, Nanachi and Mitty's story, damn onions, welcome to Riko's harem Nanachi, or Reg's harem or could be Nanachi's harem Easily became top 1 saddest scene in anime for me 10/10 |

I actually did! I've never had a problem with the music for this show :) Ah, then you plan on doing the same like me? Read the manga while listening to the OST? It's out and I plan to do it soon lol I will probably read the manga at some point, and it seems like a good idea to listen to the OST. I have to finish Berserk before that - I told myself I'd finish it after getting like half-way through the manga like three times haha. Tokoya said: This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to watch I can't even begin to express how depressed I was and how much despair and sadness overcame me when I saw the story of Nanachi and Mitty and I'm just astonished by how THAT guy didn't even see all of these poor little kids as human beings This reminded me of the feeling I got when I watched FMA and saw Shou Tucker perform experiments on his own daughter and turned her into a fucking beast and this was just as if not even more fucked up than that, and I am just so sorry for all of them.....This man killed Mitty over and over (Which he know she felt every bit of pain there was to come from it) and deformed her even more and for such a sweet and optimistic girl, she didn't deserve that at all I can't even begin to imagine the psychological trauma Nanachi went through all this time and seeing her in present day and watching how she reacted to when it was time to kill Mitty just fucking broke me and left me hollow inside and I can't express it enough But other than that, everything about this episode was just fantastic and it truly made me happy to see Nanachi smile again as well as to agree to join them on their journey because I just want her to be happy....She deserves to be happy....I'm happy for Reg and Riko too for overcoming their struggles and getting back on their horse Overall this anime was a fucking masterpiece in my eyes and even though Princess Principal is my personal favorite/AOTS, this show right here is easily the best show of this season regardless and the ending aside, this was a very fitting conclusion to the series And for that, I will reward this with my second 10/10 for the year and I hope that somehow this will get a second season because everything ranging from the story, production value for the art, animation and music (GOD TIER MUSIC, LIKE THAT OST IS TOO GOOD) and the characterization is just top notch I'm gonna miss this show a lot :'') But I'm definitely picking up the manga now Perfectly, all my thoughts were portrayed here! The backstory was sad as hell but the last good bye to Mitty and watching Nanachi's suffering was way to much... Oh man, these manly tears of mine... Anyway, really REALLY hoping for a second season or more content. |

Liked that ending. It shows that this is only the beginning of an exciting but dangerous journey. The Nanachi and Mitty story was pretty sad and I almost cried during that elevator scene. Nice to see that Riko Could still use her hand, an important thing for a diver. Overall, Made in Abyss was pretty great. It had bad pacing issues with that Ozen arc but it got better, though not as good as the first 3 episodes. really liked the main two characters since they made the whole show enjoyable, especially Reg, who I thought was going to be a generic MC. Their are many things that are left unanswered so I hope that there is a 2nd season. This show might also have my most favorite setting and lore in all of anime and gaming. I hope that we could get like an art book or poster of the abyss and even the town. 8/10 better pacing could have made this show a 10 |

I really enjoyed this and it seems i am really going to read it as it captured my interest a lot, from what i have read from others the next arc that takes place after this ending is the best one to date so it has me quite hyped. Really needs a season 2 in the future for sure. AOTS. |

Great show. It had a shaky mid section with a few average episodes of nothing really happening, but picks up again towards the end with incredibly emotional and probably THE most blood-curdling scenes in anime. Definitely not the best anime for squeamish people like me ._. But I still LOVED it nonetheless. Kami-sama please bless us with more seasons! |

Truly the best anime of the season, I've been looking for something like this for a long time. The great point in this series are the Ost...the Ost is so good and gives such a eerie feeling at some points and make it outstanding in the overall aspect and the environment which I find quite interesting to see. Had good moments laughing and some other moments feeling like a shit, especially in this episode with Mitty and Nanachi backstory. In short, I laughed, cried and I really want to nuke Bondrewd until there isn't even ASHES left of him. |

Oh my, just as I've started to get very invested in Made in Abyss, it ended. I think particularly the near-death scene of Riko the last few episode really helped to drill in a lot of suspense into the series. Definitely the best in Summer 2017, but that's not really saying a lot... |

It took me 40 minutes to realize how long this episode was. First half was dark. The curse still bugs me. Right now it feels like it's just meant to give the writer leeway. And it has some holes in it. Overall great show. I wasn't sure at first but I think this is my aots. |

This is, by a huge gigantic mark, the best anime I ever seen. It's even a shame to compare this with other animes. It's just... Epic. Truly epic. If MAL would have a feature to give a 11 score for one single anime, I would do it. I would. Simply do it. I said this before and I'll say it again: Made in Abyss is just too good to be an anime. I truly wish to see more masterpieces like that. I though the anime industry was domed with fanservice and cliches, but we can see a sparkle in this whole darkness. It's just beautiful. |

Nanachi's and Mitty's story was so sad. Screw you Bondrewd! Ending sequence was wonderful, and this show was fantastic. I'm really impressed with Kinema Citrus. Looks like they'll be adapting The Rising of the Shield Hero next. Looking forward to it even more now. Nanachi was definitely the highlight of the show for me. She's such a great character, and I'm really glad she'll be sticking around :) Now we just need that season 2 announcement! |

For the people that felt this was sad. I have a few things for you to think about from the anime. Firstly, in one of the flashbacks, bondrewd thanks nanachi for helping him make a "cartridge". Secondly, when nanachi is drawing instead of helping with research, look where she is. Third and most importantly, why did bondrewd cut off mitty's limbs, especially when he seemed genuinely surprised that they grew back? The sad part of the abyss has only begun. Layers 5+ are not for the faint of heart. With that out of the way, I want to praise this anime so much. There were so many things that had to happen and did for this anime to be as effective as it was. The usage of the curse and gravity both served to heighten tension throughout. I marathonned eps 1-12 then read the rest of the manga last week so perhaps the pacing some people felt was slow didn't hit me. For me the entire show felt like playing dark souls, you have no estus left, you have 50k souls, you haven't found a bonfire in an hour. That feeling of being on alert long after being exhausted, that death could be behind any corner. The show made me feel that way so acutely that its almost hard to believe. The significant wear on its characters is very powerful for making you feel like the characters could die. The suspense of a show lives or dies with how much you feel like a main character could die and this show handles it so well that you really feel like they could. Even if you know that its unlikely the main characters will just up and die half way through, the shows atmosphere makes you second guess that constantly and I love the show for it. I love how immersed the show is in it's theme of pressing through the darkness. Not only are the characters physically pressing through the literal darkness of the abyss, but they also reach increasingly despair inducing situations but find the strength to emotionally push through it. The other theme of treasure and value is only touched at in the anime but is expanded on a lot in the manga. In the elevator when they are talking about finding a treasure they want to protect, that has more significance than it might initially appear to. The characters work so well together. Riko is an actual child character with all the problems and benefits that come with that. Physically weak, impulsive and full of wonder, both double edged swords. Reg works as the perfect counterpart. Nearly infinitely physically strong but childishly indecisive and easily scared. The art of the manga is fantastic but the show bringing it color and motion make such a difference. If anything I hope we get a season 2 just so I can actually get a handle on wtf layer 6 actually looks like. In black and white and still motion its nearly incomprehensible. I was somewhat disappointed in the show using the name "the challengers" for this episode instead of when the manga used it. Challenging layer 5 is not the same as challenging layer 6 (the point of no return). Regardless thats the smallest of gripes. I was surprised to see the hotsprings episode make it into the anime (but not surprised that they somewhat tastefully covered up riko more than in the manga). I was actually pretty amazed by how faithfully the manga was adapted. Episode 13 at least is nearly word for word whats in the manga (although they played around with the order of scenes slightly IIRC). I'm eager to see the city of the unreturned in animated glory. I've waited so long for a real seinen adventure anime. Aside from 12 kingdoms, this is basically it, and to have every aspect completely and masterfully handled is a real treat. I want to know whats at the bottom of the abyss so bad I would probably be willing to make my own white whistle and journey down there myself. Only those who journey straight forward without turning back for even a moment (ascending) can challenge the abyss. If the mangaka drops this I will want blood. |

I was pretty skeptical to this series, because of its 13 episodes limit. I thought that this will either be rushed, or have a WTF just happened ending. And I kept that thought until the last episode. And DAMN. Nanachi and Mitty's story hit me ard, man. Made in Abyss? more like Made in FEELS ! (oh yeah, and it was a middle finget to those that thought this will be a kids anime in the first episode because of the art-style) The ending was just as I expected (Nothing mush, wait 4 season 2/ rushed), but they gave us answers to a lot of questions, and used them as cliffhangers, by raising more questions.I want to hit myself from 3 episodes ago. Finding Riko's mom is the least the viewer cars about. FUCK YOU, ALL! I hate you (in a good way) for giving us a back-story of an already _ (dead or something else) character(too many Nina vibes from this, and FMA is my favorite anime of all time) AND making us wait for season 2. Oh, yeah, and apparentlyReg is going through puberty, cause something happened to his D ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) |

I just finished watching the last episode of Made In Abyss, so I will be sending an invoice to the production staff shortly for my therapy bill. I can't even begin to comprehend how fucking amazing this anime is. A truly fucking masterpiece. And let me say this all over again. Kinema Citrus did a great job adapting this manga because it was so faithful and didn't disappoint me at least once. I remember reading the manga where it showed what happened to Nanachi and Mitty, and it sure made me cry so fucking hard, but seeing it animated made me bawl like a baby. I lost count on how many times I cried throughout this finale episode. Really hoping for 2nd season and even an OVA. Hihihi. I love everyone in this show. Ohmygod. I will definitely rewatch this show soon. It's worth a rewatch. 10000000000000000000000000/10 Thank you for the journey. I really enjoyed and loved this show so much. I'll miss this one for sure. Best anime of the season IMO, now all that is left is hope for a second season and start reading the manga while I wait for it. Great final episode and I loved this whole 13 episodes ride, too bad it was so short :( Bondrewd is such a jerk for using kids in his twisted experiments but he might have good reasons behind his actions, so I'll not bash him just yet. I'll probably find out more info about him on what has been released of the manga so far. 8.4/10 - Great adventure anime with amazing backgrounds, world building and a bunch of mysterious characters with fresh designs. Definitely fitting for adventure and mystery anime like me. Hope to see more works like this in the near future! |

I cried in the manga... I cried in the anime harder because of that beautiful OST.. so happy they showed at the end their balloon reach outside.. did not see that in the manga.. and those picturesque scenes at the end though with the Abyss, so breathtaking! X3 Love Made in Abyss! Easily 10/10 and my AOTS of Summer Season.. that world-building is superb.. the concept art is so unique - it draws you in, the characters are fleshed out substantially throughout the series, and the whole atmosphere of the story captivates you into their world.. Really really good stuff.. The color palette and tones of the background to the main characters are so contrasting yet go well together - creating an effective juxtaposition in my opinion that made the overall anime pretty amazing and surreal! Want a second season but argh... it'll catch up to the manga if they make one now.. if they make that Bondrewd's Arc a movie- I don't think they can adapt it properly - maybe they'll rushed it.. hmm.. 3 part movie perhaps or 10 episode Anime? like what they did with Haikyuu... *fingers crossed* |

VERY very nice ending, and in sort of a twisted way too. This also proves that studios CAN make the final episode longer as a necessity to have everything needed included to be even more suitable and made as an ending without it being rushed or faulty or whatever. Adaptions seriously need to do this sort of thing more often. 8/10, though it's really an 8.5/10 for me. I really enjoyed this one, despite the rather slow start, the One Piece-like intro recapping, and the rather frequent nude or sexual expositions of Riko (which I find rather unnecessary). |

Great great show! I haven't seen an anime like this in a very long time. Easily one of the best anime this year aside from Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and it might just be in the top 50 anime to come out this decade. I guess we can never really get rid of elitists. I admit I've been one for the longest time, but this anime really deserves more praise and rating! If you have no problems with it just straight up give it a 10/10. That's what I'll be doing since it left me wanting more of this very fresh yet very dark and mysterious adventures. The concept of the abyss, and the creatures, and the curse are just refreshingly original. Mix it up with unpredictable encounters, dramatic story, and well-rounded characters, and of course brilliant animation with brilliant soundtracks, we got ourselves a very special anime. Hope to see season 2 before I'm tempted to read the manga (not that there's a problem with manga reading, I'm just not so fond of reading). |

It was a great episode. I really liked how Nanachi was talking to Mitty about souls returning to abyss and then going to someone who wishes for life and later once Mitty was killed by Reg she asked her to wait for her because she wants to stay with Reg and Riko. Nanachi with her short hair was so cute. Riko + Reg scene in lake was adorable too. 10/10 overall |
I'm watching anime since 2012. I also play games, sometimes. Don't bother me if you want to 'become friends' or things like that. It's tiresome. I know you just want to collect some meaningless numbers. Thought: How many people sparked H. Charlotta just for blue pot? |

there are many people who probably hate Bondrewd by now but trust me when I say that after reading the manga you won't feel that way anymore. |
>I had no brain when I was 12 >Then everyone must had no brain when they were 12 >I experimented 100 samples and proved that they had no brain when they were 12 >Therefore children cannot consent This is what science has done to humanity. |

The first episode wasn't really to my liking. I'm glad that I continued watching. One of the greatest adventure anime of all time. |
