| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Oh boy, a rebellion. As usual, the villians in this show is very stereotypical to the point that their goal is something you'd find in almost any type of this show. In some ways, it felt like a buildup episode with the strategic planning. I do expect the finale to hopefully wrap this up without any rootless stupidity. Hell, even Eleanor has a fighting spirit so maybe she'll play a more important role than just being in the background. |

| So an intense fight this episode and it looks like next episode we will have an even more intense fight going on. This could be interesting. Anyway it even seems the queen is interring combat tho it's questionable if she actually adds something to the fight, at least her personality improved a bit. |
| They started off with a big battle, though it ended at a draw. Eleonore is acting more of a leader now. She didn't hesitate when she was ordered to retake the capital. One more episode till it ends. Seems like they will end it with a huge fight. |

| The battle ended as draw. It was quite intense. The drake battleship is very strong. Ernesti had a hard time fighting it. Eleanor has joined the fight now. The finale is going to be good. |

| I wonder how long it took them to design and build the drake. It seems like that would have taken months, yet it's already fitted with jet thrusters. I do wonder how much time has passed between battles. There doesn't seem to be any form of electronic communication. At most the ships and drake use pipes to give orders around. That means it takes a while for them to get messages back and forth between the capital and front lines. While the drake is powerful and likely faster then any air ship, it doesn't know where it's target will be and can only make educated guesses. I do like the idea of attacking the capital while the main forces are away. The drake can't defend it and the royal family if it's off on the front lines and they likely can't recall it if attacked. As powerful as the drake battle ship is it still needs a place to land for repairs and resupply. The only thing is there isn't another unit as strong as the Sliver Phoenix to do it. It was nice to see the battle end in a draw for once. So far it's really just been one side overpowering the other. There was always a clear winner. Even a close victory would have been nice to see. This time both sides lost to much to keep fighting. |
| Looks like we're going to have one final climactic battle to finish off the series. Should be entertaining. |

| @Master_Geass IIRC in LN they said it was build long ago but was too heavy to fly. Only after witnessing Eru magic jet thrusters it was finished and could finally fly. Personally disappointed that they used disruption of magic jet thruster using saltpetre and not Low Orbit battle with engines overwhelmed by amount of ether in atmosphere. |

| For almost never fight on air Eru skill as pilot are good. Final battle for this season will be decide the future mecha dev to either humanoid mecha vs flying mecha and warship. |

| @agni666 So he basically wasted a huge chunk of his R&D budget on something he could never really get working. It seems like he would have gotten some flack for that. Still it would have taken him a while to build and retrofit the thrusters onto it. |
| Big Battle before the Ultimate battle. This final episodes adressed the main problem I had with most of the anime: Ernesti's mechas were always too powerful had no match. Zaloudek's Drake was impresive It's a Zoid, lmao But Ernesti's words at the end were on point: If the Drake destroys Ikaruga, the whole world will realize the hoy silly is to use humanoids with weapons and how a big plataform with tons of firepower is more effective war-wise. But for the Sake of the mecha genre, Ernie has to defeat it with his masterpiece mecha. |

| Interesting stuff. Enjoyed this episode for its action. Its a nice idea that the battle will decide if airships or mech will be the future weapon platform for this world. IDK about that though, since they don't really fulfill a similar role TBH, A flying mech is probably better than a giant airship. Or a small flying craft is better in general. Get a magius jet mech with misshire missiles and you got a modern fighter jet. It have heavy firepower, faster and more agile than the airship. Its also most likely cheaper and easier to build. Its like the battleship versus aircraft carriers. And Aircraft carriers win. A more threatening platform to existence of a mech would be wheeled or tracked vehicles. A smaller, simpler and faster platform compared to a mech. It can be armored much better due to a simpler shape and can operate in very soft grounds. |

| I'm over this anime...it was an alright anime throughout but it just always fell short of my expectations...one episode left and at least it will give us some decent action even if the story will finish off being garbage |

| The enemy had a few tricks up their sleeve in that first battle, very crafty of them to use that sort of tactic to ground Ernesti. Looking forward to round 2 next time, should be a really good final episode. |

| @Fortress_Maximus yes, but current translation is at exact same spot as anime, but good news we finally got jap translator for LN, so we will soon get past anime. current release rate about 1 ch per week and as you know LN chapters are quite long. what do you expect from 2x battalion rank mana engine, also that ship has 13 mana engines and a lot of personnel. on side note when he is flying he has 1 mana engine for flying and one for all else, but on floor he has both engines for combat use. |

| Man that mecha dragon is huge. Naturally the enemy would want to get revenge for their prince though but i never expected them to use such a mecha though. Trying to take on the drake while minimizing civilian casualties will be hard though. It seems Ernesti has finally met his match in terms of mecha combat then. Its funny that Ernesti has his own robot code of how they should be employed though. That drake though sure has impressive firepower and maneuverability though. The contrast between Ernesti's dual with Dietrich though is interesting. The sword fanatic sure though sure is determined to beat Dietrich though. Its nice that Dietrich has developed so much from the person that he was in the past. The fight between them though really is interesting though. So Ernesti's prediction on the ether reactor was spot on then it seems. It seems that Gojass also had plenty of backups in place to deal with Ernesti should he survive the initial battle. Man that was a rather close battle that Ernesti and his allies fought there though. Though the battle itself was a tie the shock that it provided to Ernesti, his troops and to the loyalists as well must have been immense. Ernesti and his orders first ever defeat eh. A bitter pill for sure. Gojass never cases to amaze me with his intellect though. Power is always a double edged sword but if the general insists then this is what he gets. Looks like the swords saints loss is actually his gain since he gained a new mecha as well. With the enemies momentum recovered in the last battle it seems the tide is starting to turn back as well. The battle council though sure was interesting though. Its nice that they try to anticipate the enemies next moves though. Hmm Eleonore really surprised me at how brave she has become though. Her idea while crazy is just like her though. An all out offence on the capital sure will be the last thing that the enemy will expect though. The queens speech really was strong and shows just how much she has changed as well. Their determined assault on the capital seems to have been the best plan and its nice to see the fight go so well. Nora seems to have found her home leading the commando units in the Silhouette gears though. But it looks like the battle also attracted the attention of the drake as well. To think that Ernesti also came up with a mount for his mecha as well though impressive. Can't wait to see what will happen in the final battle though. |

| Those were both interesting fights, on the ground and in the air. Those four will one up each other's opponents again on the next and the last episode. Well at least princess uhmm the queen is not spineless and indecisive anymore which makes her less annoying. He foresees much but I don't think he can stop people innovating into bigger, faster, higher, more powerful, more creative and also more destructive technology (he cites battleships and cannons). As a mecha fan myself it is almost blasphemous to say this...that his beloved mecha (and mine as well) will go with the dodo too once those bigger, faster, etc. tech comes up. Once the genie is out of the bottle, it's out for good! |
