Still stupid. Did he wanted an event or a video type to know that some people are able for the most hideous things? It means nothing really. Because people are also able of the most loving and beautiful things too. His just an idiot looking only one side of the coin. People are capable of everything including good and not just evil. Humanity simply explores everything from evil to good it's not about being anything is about being everything.

That's his flaw though. Only being able to see things in black and white.

Itsuki was his name I believe was exposed to only negative and dark things. He was taught that people are not what they appear to be which is good and caring. No the bad guy or should I say former Spirit Detective told him that humans are evil, dark, and that they only care about making others suffer. So Itsuki now wants everyone dead because of past experience.

It's a shame that Yuseke and his friends are trying to tell him that humans can be good, caring as well, but Itsuki is stubborn and won't accept it.

Hell yeah, Yusuke! I hope he beat the hell out of this Sensui so that he will go back to his damn senses. But I think for now, Yusuke will be the one beaten up. And Kuwabara! Wow, he has a very important role now. I wonder where is Hiei...

This arc feels considerably darker and more gruesome than the rest of the show so far. It sort of runs parallel to Togashi's other work HxH in that sense. Even though it was pretty much a given that they were going to show something brutal, it was still a bit off-setting to see the humans as I thought they were demons initially.

It's farcical how he views everything in black and white. He encounters a group of twisted humans and jumps to the conclusion that the entire human race should be annihilated. In this setting, there are good and bad humans and good and bad demons. It would make more sense for him to go after the wrongdoers/oppressors and protect the innocent. Instead, he's beckoning evil demons to slaughter all humans -- regardless of whether they've done anything wrong. What a hypocrite. He's the harbinger of genocide, one of the most loathsome actions one can commit. Does he not see how he resembles the abhorrent humans in the video tape?

Shinobu Sensui sure was influenced easily. The backstory as a whole felt far too light, but at least it involved Sakyo again.

The content on the Chapter Black tape is apparently capable of turning just about any human against their own kind, so it's reasonable that what he saw at the mansion caused him to question his beliefs, seek out the tape, and go full on misanthrope.

He could be well aware of the good of humanity, but thinks the bad far outweighs it.

That being said, I'm liking Sensui as a villain.

I wanna know more about his detective partner though. That dude seemed pretty badass.

Like the way the Black Black Club and Sakyo are brought back again. It certainly gives the show a believable timeline and setting, a world where things and events are interconnected, where the death of the villains of the last arc is not by any means the end of their influence.

And there there there, Sensui's motives are further developed. Like a good Catholic boy wandering into Marquis de Sade's house, somehow made it back home, then rent a copy of 120 Days of Sodom to find out more.

Oh, and I like the way the motives are explained in a scattered way, in small enticing doses. First, we get a glimpse through info ab the Black Tape. Then, we get from Koenma's mouth. It makes us see a story from different perspectives, and I expect Yuusuke will hear the whole thing from Sensui's mouth himself.

Terror loving terrorists care more about how Western countries are a threat to their life and religious value than your baby child being cute and adorable and kind.

But I guess this is criticism thrown at Sensui the man, rather than the show using Sensui to make a point and deliver a message??

The use of no music in the stand off was chilling, big fan of that decision. "Yo, senpai". I really like Sensui, he may be my favorite villain so far if they don't do him wrong. I am in love with this arc.

for the first time in 77 episodes we get a villain with a decent motivation for his actions. I mean trying to kill the entirety of humanity because of some evil-doers is pretty crazy but to be fair, for someone that was always righteous and thought of demons as nothing but vile beasts, only to witness at first hand that humans too can be cruel monsters. This can definitely change your outlook on the world. Definitely better than every other villain we had so far in terms of motivation and reason.

I like how we are reminded of the Black Black Club; that's some truly evil, behind-the-scenes villain stuff. Sensui's backstory was kind of... weird? I don't know. It felt kind of cheap for him to decide to destroy all humans because of what he saw, especially considering his role as Spirit Detective.

Its far from cheap it was shown he had an extreme sense of justice saw everything as black and white regarding his views on demons only now to find principles and values shattered during his discovery so naturally did a complete 360 as there's no balance to him

God this arc keeps getting darker and darker with each episode. I know I've said this before but damn it it's worth repeating twice I mean just when I thought this season was not connected it then throws a bombshell that Sayko, a guy who up to this point in this show is already dead thanks to what happened at the Dark Tournament is back in a flashback who ultimately was responsible for Sensui turning to the dark side and finding Chapter Black. Man if it weren't for him then Yusuke and co wouldn't be having this crisis on earth right now as we speak. I mean god, Sayko as a character was already shady enough as it was but to have Sensui, a former spirit detective basically turn evil because of him witnessing something that happened at the very same mansion where Yusuke and Kubawara met the Toguro Brothers, had Sensui witness what was quite frankly a very gruesome scene of humans torturing demons, demons, the very things that Sensui thought were the things that were inherently evil because of his morals get horrifically turned on their head prompting him to lash out at the torturers and kill them in cold blood.

Man Sensui is such a complex villain then I originally thought. I'd say he's more of an equal to Young Toguro at this point. He just keeps surprising me here.

Did anyone notice a Dragon Ball reference? It made me grin to see Koenma riding a cloud just like the Flying Nimbus flew when Goku rode on it.

What Sensui witnessed was so disturbing. Sakyo sure knows how to manipulate people just like he did with his gambling. All he did was to make Sensui see how humans could be evil.

His turn to "must destroy humanity" ideology is way too simple but this show has never been about insightful storytelling.
Why can't that kid spit out that Kuwabara's power is something Sensui would want to use, also enough with having Keiko around.
