I'm watching this series because someone recommended it off of Code Geass. I'm beginning to see where they're coming from. Hakuoro, like Lelouch, is constantly turning others to his side, through his innate leadership abilities. Those who were once his enemies are now some of his strongest allies. And sins, let's not forget the terrible things they have done in their past, intentional or by mistake, forgotten by them or not. "How does one atone for their past?" seems to be a theme this and CG have in common.

So, if they still mean Niwe(laughing evil guy) has 10 times their military force, i'm wondering exactly how many troops they have...

Ooh, this is turning out to be so interesting... I wonder if the beast or monster in Hakuoro, or just his "other side", has always been there? Can't believe he was actually married and had kids, too! He didn't seem that old, but I guess it shouldn't be too surprising if he's over 20 or so.

Also wonder if that girl that was on his brother-in-law's side will be able to forgive him... and become his ally...? Sounds kind of farfetched. But maybe she'll notice that Hakuoro was [maybe?] being manipulated or something when he supposedly killed all of his comrades and family members. And the enemy has one of those angelic-wing people on his side?!

I always forget to note it in comments, but... The animation in this anime is actually pretty good, and consistent throughout episodes. The battles are animated quite well, and action or fight sequences flow rather smoothly. Not the best but still kind of impressive.

I also hated how that girl got passed everyone so easily! Though it was still pretty epic nonetheless.

Maybe am mistaken but as i understood it he may very well be that the whole story about his past is not existent. The evil old guy said about fooling that guy with magic. So all the things about him killing his family etc seems to never had happened and are just implanted memories threw magic in that poor guy that got manipulated.
So Hakuoro was never that Rakshain fellow at all and never lived in that country at all.

He will laugh until the end, I think. But like Fatman ( MGS 2 ) said: Laugh and grow fat. Either way, awakening the assumed beast within Hakuoro is most likely not a good idea.

Hakuoro was never Rakshain (if that person ever existed). Sorcery was employed to convince the Emperor and people of the neighboring country that Hakuoro was that person. Touka has also seen that the entire conflict was whipped up by Niwe (although the mysterious other figure has not been seen by any of Hakuoro's side yet). Big divergence from the game in doing that reveal about Hakuoro just before his "brother-in-law" was killed by the arrow, as we get no such definitive info for some game-time yet. Since the game is single route and runs 30-50 hours they may need to cut out a bit, although thus far they've been very close with the adaptation.

And I guess that scene where Eruruu hugs Hakuoro and we fade to the next morning is all we're going to get on the real romantic encounter. Very 1940's Hollywood that. Everyone knows what happened but they can't show it... Which is a real pity as there is quite a strong element of romance in the game (logical enough for an eroge) along the line of Tears to Tiara.

Thank goodness for that Hakuoro's is false and he wasn't indeed this so called Rakshain's, but really curious about his dark side that arose, I wonder if we'll ever see him without the mask.

Bloody hell that Old grandpa has a horrendous laugh. But it seems that theirs one of the wing people as his allie and probably the one that put the curse.

Good thing I read the comments here, because from watching the anime I wouldn't have guessed that Hakuoro was never Rakshain; I thought magic was used to lead the "brother-in-law" to Hakuaro and get them to fight. As implanted memories through magic isn't something I've seen before.

He is one crazy guy. Probably just enjoys screwing with people in any way he can.
