There's a lot of options for Retsubi tbh but I'm curious to see which one works out the best. All of them have risks too.

The one about abandoning Retsubi and then attacking Gyou in full force seems to be the riskiest.

seems like riboku is a step ahead right now with him also predicting ousen to take a look. lets see what ousen will come up with to turn it around. guess he would need a (somewhat risky) surprise move which isnt really like him tbh.

Riboku making gains.he even had a back up plan for qin suprise attack.the fact that retsubi castle so hard to defend mean he already know that qin may try some sneaky shit and change their target and made preparation ass well.shoheikun prepared year for this and he destroyed that plan just like that.even without houken, that dude is massive threat.people should stop underestimated him.

Shin got nerfed this chapter.

Gotta give props to Riboku for this scheme. Now the only option available for Qin is to take Gyou as fast as they can, before he shows up.

I'm glad they skipped all the suspitions about Ousen being a traitor and were able to figure out what he is up to.

Well Kanki supports the brute force tactic, but is it really feasible?

Shit got real way too fast this chapter.

So the city being made to be retaken easily was the secred, Riboku got them all shook with that tactic, and now they don't know what to do, either sit and wait, go on and get trapped in between, or just pack up and leave for home.

I guess this is the part where Kanki goes on with his 4th option and gets shitted on by Riboku later on.

Lets see where all this goes.

Somehow Shin is getting on my nerves...Really like how Kanki is able to somewhat understand Ousen. These 2 generals don't seem to be good friend (doesn't mean they're hating each other or anything) but they're able to read each other mind, or should i say, know what the other is doing. I bet Ousen entrusted the city and the troop to Kanki's instinct which is why he left without saying a word to the others directly. Moreover, the situation is very intense and urgent, he had to make a move quick or there won't be a chance to counter Riboku's plan. Can't wait for more.

well they have been in war together for quite some time and worked side by side. tbh i really dislike what is happening to shin atm. made him drop straight outta my fav character list.

To me it's more like they worked for a same boss for a long time, not really the type to work side by side, which is why it's pretty impressive to see 2 men understand each other without exchanging word much. But anyway you got a point.

And yeah there are few redeeming moment from Shin in the series as a whole, but his flaw really outweighed the good one, which is why i'm finding him more of a nuisance lately. What kept me reading is the other great generals around China in the manga, they are what make this series great (at least to me).

Damn! Riboku made a plan even for an unlikely attack like the one Shoheikun came up with.
This guy really is a pain in the ass.

So what will Ousen decide? Will he go with the risky 4th strategy or show his genius and actually find a 5th strategy.
I really can't see a way to win this other that risk attacking full on. If there was also a trap they can leave behind in Retsubi for when Zhao tries to retake the fortress it will be good too.

Btw, why didn't he put everyone to work to change the defenses of Retsubi before he left? Maybe they could have managed something good in those few days.

Well the 4th strategy wasn't really surprising at all. But I'm excited to see how such a high-risk plan will be carried out. :DD

The experience of senior generals seems very striking to me. I was fascinated with how advanced the thinking of Ousen and Kanki were compared to the youngsters. Shin's reactions each time someone revealed something or when someone said what would happen if they followed this particular strategy was very amusing to watch. Overall, I personally think Ousen will be able to devise a new strategy that can top every other plans of everyone so far. Because I think Ousen is more smarter than Riboku and other generals strategically since he was compared to Hakuki of the six great general of Qin by General Ouki.

I think Ousen already realized how urgent the situation was when he first set foot on Retsubi, hence his sudden department without telling the other general directly. The reason why he left in such a rush could be that to make sure whether his plan or whatever the scheme that Riboku and Kanki mentioned would work or not.

Yeah Ousen is pretty badass, he never fight a battle that he can not win, so i guess his department from Retsubi is simply to see if his plan will work or not. This campaign should be very long and the battle of wits between Riboku and Ousen should be intense and intriguing.

Sorry but the author really has to do something about Shin. I get he has a strategist lady with him but how can he become the greatest general under heavens when his so thickheaded.
I get that he is still young and is not a very strategical person but he had many fights and experience many battlegrounds by now. He should at least be able to realize something more easily that get himself shocked like that every time.
Being an instinctive general doesn't mean you are a moron that has no idea what strategies the other is using against you.

That's very true. I think Shin is gradually improving his strategical skills, but his main focus is instinctual moves, so it is not a big surprise that he acted the way he did in front of all those strategical monsters. Yes, I do hope the author does something to Shin's lack of smartness, but hey this is only the first of many campaigns hopefully. So, there is more than enough time for him to become good at all level. Look at Moubu, he is a general who completely depends on his fierceness, he is still doing good. We have to be quite patient about it I guess.

So the whole City is just a big fucking trap? Ri Boku's on a different level for sure. They can retake it easily when the Qin army are attacking Gyou. Surround them and easily kill every single one of them. But yeah, Kan Ki showed a difference in tactical skills. A fourth option is there.
