Jasmine spotted. Luis makes an appearance this episode too.

Tennouji began to tell more of his story and the training he's been doing. Pretty tense episode especially the second half imo. The CGI part was kinda distracting but captured the mood of the episode overall. I was also impressed by Tennouji's determination this episode to make a difference in their world. Poor Jasmine :(

Well...uh....that was certainly edginess ramped up to 11. Everything felt so jarring I couldn't invest in the story enough to care despite all the crazy violence. Well I guess it's nice he helped some of the kids? Back to Japan or whatever!

Koutarou got paranoid over his successful headshot. But he got trusty partner like Luis and don't forget about always-smile and positive cute Yasmin. It seems pretty fun at first, until Luis "accidentally" fired the kids and Koutarou learn the truth about Yasmin.
Another "Despair" episode. :(

One of the best episodes i think
As a VN player i found this pretty good i managed to get some of the feels but it felt kinda quick like when they were in the field it was supposed to be so much more intense and they never sed about the part of luis destroying the bomb or wateva it just kinda happened.
CGI was pretty bad as always but im used to that.
Yasmin was kawaii af and if u didn't recognize she had poor grammar to show how she is young and intelligent but lacks in her speech which she talked bout in the VN.
Even though it was a bit quick this did the job and the non VN players should be able to grasp with the story and so on.

I think if they skipped op and ed tgey would have made luis scene more dramatic but oh well.

Time for more esaka-san but i really wanna see a certain scene which VN players should remember.
Not sure if it can still happen or if it happened be4 and they skipped it.
*Hint*
It was one of the funniest moments in Terra

LUIIIIIIIIS!! I kinda wish this part had two eps since you couldn't really feel for Luis, but the important thing is how Kotarou is changing, which they did a solid job on.

Surely somebody recognized Midou, right?

Probably the best episode till date for me. Action-packed and even brutal at points.

Luis was a nice guy. Sad that he had to die. :(

It was really nice that Koutarou decided to break away from Guardian and take matters into his own hands. His decision saved many lives. :)
The farewell at the end was pretty sad. :(

My wish for a badass Kotarou has been realized but at the cost of tons of feels :(

I really hope that Yasmin and the others don't end up dying somehow still because that would really suck TwT

Great episode overall though and I must say that I love how both this and Chaos Child continues to be significantly better than their previous series with every episode

Heart broken, just as expected ;_; This was so hard to watch, geez.
Btw, did Kotarou's suicide attempt even happen in the vn? I honestly didn't remember that part.

Also, damn, Kotarou suddenly became so much hotter O_O That's the only thing visual novel was lacking lol.

Nope, that suicide attempt wasn't there at all and I don't remember him being so traumatized over his first kill. I guess they put that there to add more importance to Jasmine that stopped him. They added quite a few things that aren't in the VN in this episode, and skipped some others, even a choice (they hadn't skipped one until now).

Uhh, so just what I thought after all, I didn't remember it being such a trauma either. Not sure if I'm a fan of this change, maybe they wanted him to seem more human or sth :| In my memory he was already pretty tough in that part of Terra.

New characters introduced. I knew right from the start Luis was going to die. Kotarou was traumatized after killing someone. He was going to kill himself, but Yasmine saved him. He didn't like Guardian's methods, so he decided to take care of the kids. That was nice of him. The goodbye at the end was so sad. Best episode so far.

This went from lighthearted to bloody and sad pretty quickly. It's a shame what happened to some of the kids but there was no way Luis could have known.

Best episode in Rewrite so far tbh (which ironically didn't have any of the main heroines in it). Midou and friends were so fucking adorable! Yasmine is love <3 and I just love her voice! It's just awesome! The pace was good but it still felt like it went by fast (guess I'm just too used to the vn's slow pace) but it still delivered the feels nicely. Shit is gonna get real from next episode on, it's obvious.

This episode was the best episode by far from Rewrite S2, It felt kinda poor when it came to the scenario of showcasing Guardian's Methods (I won't spoil but if anyone wants the details of what I mean you can ask) everything else was very well done. Aside from the art derps and some choppy animation, it was pretty good for the most part, and it showed much more development for Kotarou. This is pretty much what I loved about Terra Route.

I felt happy at the first half which were the children and the characters getting along, of course Luis was best bro as usual, and I felt the chills as well though, the entire scenario at the second half. I legitimately cried by the way xD I'm not kidding, its been nearly a year since I finished Rewrite's VN and yet this still hurts me because that scene was fucked up for my end.

By the way I love some of the new OST entries and the re-arrangement for Philosophy of Ours, those were pretty nice honestly and rather refreshing. They did nailed it pretty well compared to S1 (they had new OSTs and re-arrangement but they weren't used enough, S2 on the other hand handled this well).

And honestly I am really just giving this a 9 for now, because it's just THAT good in my eyes and how they're managing to handle things very well in my eyes.

This episode has Grisaia no Rakuen written all over it.

- Both are flashback scenes showing young MCs (Yuuji and Kotarou) joining the military...Well, Kotarou joined the PMC for Guardian to be more exact but they're still kind of the same.

- Both Kotarou and Yuuji found it hard to kill people at first but both had completely different reasons. For Yuuji, it was because of what he did to his father and as for Kotarou, he was a newbie and that was his first time.

- Both MC has a comrade who became their best friend. In Rakuen and Rewrite, they both died.

Not that I'm complaining. This episode was really good..It's a bit rushed though so not much of an emotional investment from me (I still teared up over this episode though...). 8bit handled Rakuen's flashback episodes better than this episode.

It was mentioned in s1 that Midou and friends grew up in a warzone and killing is all they've known. In all timelines except Terra, Jasmine dies and Midou and friends become the crazy edgelords you see in s1.

Really sad. I really liked this backstory because it shows how easily innocence can be destroyed.

Terra route is the only route where Jasmine doesn't die because Kotarou saves them, which also prevents Midou and friends from not going insane.
Wow...I completely forgot about that yellow haired guy from S1 and I didn't notice that they were both the same person.

Yeah, I was just taking shower moment ago and had an eureka moment, when I realised my mistake.

You were right on this one. Though considering how fast this trilogy come out (2011, 2012, 2013) it is safe to say that most of the story was written from the start.

Well, that are some of the oldest tropes in the book, so it is probably just coincidence.

For those who have read the VN, this anime adaptation missed one minor detail about Luis's javelin throwing. In the VN, Luis uses a tool called atlatl (i.e., a spear thrower, an example video) for throwing his spears/javelins. This tool gives you more leverage and thus improves the throwing overall. Of course, his throwing is even fancier with twisting effects due to his superhuman abilities.

On the other hand, in the anime, he throws the javelins right from his hand as how we may think of them.

As for the quality of this episode, I also think it's the best so far in this season. I like it.

Having an original idea to try to cram (lol negative term) every important detail into a single time line is good and all, but the point is really that it's impossible to execute it well without actually adding episode count. They should have had the Common Route be its own season of 10-12 episodes and the following episodes be another season of 10 episodes.

Truth be told, if they formatted it that way, Rewrite Movies would have been possible. (I'd go to an Akane Route Movie in a heartbeat)
