Pretty good start in my opinion, the thing i liked the most was that even if some characters seem pretty similar to old characters on the outside, they are all completely different on the inside, also one thing that got me curious was the beggining and the character that walked past Higashida, at first i was almost 100% certain it was just a random person, but why did they even add a short scene with HIM if he's not any important to the story? then i started looking at Takanashi's face and then it hit me! i am almost 99.9% certain it was him!

So none of the old characters are here =/

Honestly I wasn't really sure what to think. I didn't find it very funny. The characters are really quirky, even more so than the previous cast. A rich girl that gives out money, Inami clone a girl that can see ghosts. I forgot what the dudes were on about but they seemed messed up too. Yeah I might give it another shot later, but so far I'm not too impressed.

I gotta admit, and as much as I miss the older characters, I feel like I'll enjoy this way more than the other cast's Working!

Loving all the characters and their relationships so far.

Pretty good episode, I wonder why the low initial score, I actually liked most characters, definitely interested in Muranushi, but the only characters I didn't see do much for now were the 2 cooks. Also, what's up with Shiho and Kisaki's hair? They looked strange at first, I thought they were using some kind of snow coat since the hair on their shoulders is really different from that on top of their head.

Seems like the characters in this are less scheming and maniacal and more just straight up assholes compared to Working!! Also much more high school focused it seems with the younger cast. I still laughed like I did with Working!! now let's see if they can keep it up all the way through.

didn't the main character of the other show appear in the begin?
A curve including all entries should be of a gaussian form. One including limited entries by picking animes you liked and not rating animes you dropped should look like mine.

I do not envy the main character, even his family offers no solace from the most peculiar personality types. Nevertheless, watching his struggles is highly entertaining.

Yup. when I watch this, I always think and said "the original is better." maybe I'm still just not used to it. Anyway, it's okay some moment are fun some moment aren't I only know Daisuke and the Main Heroine so far.

I think it's a "sucks to go after that" type of anime. I couldn't really get into it cos I enjoyed the other series of Working! A LOT.. I don't think I'll be watching this as it airs and probably marathon once the series is over..

Anyone know when / where this takes place? ie. If this is 3 years after the first Working! series and if it's at the same branch or another branch but in the same city/town?

Also, no chance of romantic developments for this series?

Pretty interesting so far. I was kind of hesitant going in, thinking there was going to be just exact character clones, just gender-bent, but I'm glad to see that they have their own thing, considering this is the original version.

MC's dad pisses me off so much, lmfao. I'm amazed he hasn't punched him yet.

Loved it! If you're a big fan of Working!! (as much as I love it) you'll love it's predecessor animated.

It has the same awesome style that we all love from the creator.
A lovable cast with great comedy.

Definitely exceeded my expectations (never read the manga). ... Because it was the predecessor of Working!! I thought because it was shorter, along with Working!! taking over with more success, I thought this was gonna be a lesser version of Working!! but not at all.

And compared to Working!! it has a bigger cast of main characters with a lot of screen time I think (my assumption from episode 1) ... I wonder if it's going to have romance like Working!! ? ... maybe that's what is different and led to Working!! being longer running and more successful...
Or the creator just had a faster ending for this one than Working!! ...
... I just realized, this, is still publishing ... wtf. Might start reading it then.

Yay!!!More Working!!!

So far this new chick who is an Inami copy seems a bit interesting. She seems more like the abusive type of character who so far punches the manager if he does something wrong.
.

When will people stop being retarded already? This came out first, years before the manga version of Working!! MAL has this thing where it tells you when a series started and general info, do you people even use this site for what it's meant for or what?

In any case Inami would be the copy, that is if they had something similar at all, which they don't.

This is the first episode so dealing with 20 posts of "the """"""original"""""" series this and that" is to be expected but I hope I won't have to see it for the entirety of the season but knowing this place and the people here I probably will.
It's pretty hilarious how many people are so damn ignorant. They sound so dumb, haha. No offense to them.

Daisuke actually shows his emotion more than I thought.
He's reaction and tsukkomi is pretty much the same way as Takanashi on his first day working as well, except I think Takanashi still did better.
And here I am expecting him to be a cool and reserved type based on the trailer and design..

So far, I think the cast in the previous Working is much better than this one, even based on 1st episode of each.
Still, I'm liking Miyakoshi already, so this is a good start. I prefer this character design more tbh.

Being a huge of fan of previous Working series, I need some time to get used to these new characters..

Having said that I like the MC more it's a bit hard to connect emotionally though. It feels a bit unnatural.

I do know that this arguably comes first but it's an instinctive thing unfortunately

Maybe it's simply that the characters are less likeable, I am strongly in doubt of be being able to like about half of the cast, but hope this gets better. First episode as it is was enjoyable on its own, but if certain episodes revolve around those characters that I'm doubting I probably won't like it at all

Hmm well that was an interesting episode

The Mc needing a part time job due to family circumstances is pretty unique i guess.

Animation here looks warm and smooth because of the colors used in the scenes.

Looking at the staff at the restaurant the mc looks to be the only serious one there lol He's maybe a bit too honest with his thoughts though
still thats one way of getting a job.

Hana played by Haruka Tomatsu is the floor chief and kinda scary lol
Its like she has two different personalities lol kind to customers and fellow staff but merciless to her manager

Sayuri played by veteran seiyuu Yoko Hikasa is the quiet and kind one
thats sees ghosts only she can see. But perhaps the ghost is real
considering the drop in temp and the blood writing.

Kisaki played by veteran seiyuu Nana mizuki is the mature and lazy one
at the restaurant. Kisaki is the oldest there being a student at university.
However her expert knowledge that she uses to deal with annoyances is derailed
when the mc arrives. Beating her at her own game lol

Shiho played by veteran seiyuu Sora Amamiya is a bit of an airhead
who sees customers as the ignorant mass lol. She also has a surprisingly
large amount of money. She's also surprisingly scary when she makes demands
despite being so cute and pretty.

Shindou is an interesting character as he is in a similar situation to the mc
The fact that he owns money to Sora's character's father is interesting. He seems
to be the kind and honest type. But man his butcher shop looks creepy.

The MC's family though is kinda strange
thats not the reaction i expect when you announce you're bankrupt

There were plenty of funny scenes in this episode like Sayuri welcoming a ghost that only she can see and serving it. Shiho giving money to the woman that complained about the coffee and probably my fav scene in which Hana gave her chocolate to the mc and what happened afterwards lol.

Sora Amamiya, Nana Mizuki and Haruka Tomatsu are three of my fav seiyuu's
with Nana and Sora being my first fav and Sora being my third. Its rare to see
all three in one anime.

Overall A funny and enjoyable episode that has a great cast of seiyuus and interesting characters. Will be interested to see where this goes.

For better or worse this is more Working!. Same type of characters, same pacing (though slightly faster due to it being the pilot), same color palette. Im a sucker for the straight man, so I like this MC better than Takanashi. Ultimately the show is watchable and does offer some entertainment, but I don't think it will offer anything surprising.

Ah how I missed Working :')

The cameo appearance of Souta in the beginning got me nostalgic about the series :')

This one was good. Although the impact and first impressions was nowhere near as the alternate Working but I still enjoyed the episode because it caught the ambiance of the show well^^
Hope it lives upto the series' charm.

It is not the same restaurant, but another restaurant of the same franchise chain (Wagnaria). Timeline-wise, the events of this anime should be taking place concurrently with that of the other Working!! series.
