The 39th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine, which was released today on August 29, 2016, has announced that this year's Jump Festa will feature a special anime episode of the manga Black Clover, as well as the previously announced special for Boku no Hero Academia, and special screenings of Shokugeki no Souma, Sousei no Onmyouji, and Isobe Isobee Monogatari: Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo. Synopsis Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain. Yuno was a genius with magic, with amazing power and control, while Asta could not use magic at all and tried to make up for this by training physically. When they received their Grimoires at age 15, Yuno got a spectacular book with a four-leaf clover (most people receive a three-leaf-clover), while Asta received nothing at all. However, when Yuno was threatened, the truth about Asta's power was revealed, and he received a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a "black clover"! Now the two friends are heading out in the world, both seeking the same goal! (Source: MangaHelpers, edited) Black Clover has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump since February 16, 2015 by Yuuki Tabata. There are seven compiled manga volumes released so far, with the seventh volume recently shipped on August 4, 2016. Source: Nijipoi, Jump Festa Lineup News submitted by Jicetus Black Clover on MAL |

I personally do not read the manga, but it's cool for the fans I suppose, I'm more hyped for the MHA special. |

Oh yeah, this is the one that I've heard is a supposed "ripoff" of Naruto and some other shounen. I'll watch it for myself before believing whether or not it's a legit "ripoff," since many people love to throw that word around whenever something is even remotely similar to anything else (even though I've been guilty of that as well lol). It's only a matter of time before this gets a full anime. |
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime. Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait. MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol. |

Sooner or later, i thought it would've been sooner. Kinda obvious that it's a promo for upcoming serialization, won't hype (i like manga quite a lot even as cliche as it is) it up until at least the studio will be announced. |

Oh no, another shitty battle shonen gets animated (and this one is shitty even for the shitty battle shonen standards) while dank stuff like Hinomaru Zuma is not animated. Why you do this World Shonen Jump ? |

I heard this was a ripoff between Naruto and Fairy Tail, which while I don't know WHY so much, I do kind of assume how the plot is. I will go and watch it of course but I'm not keeping my expectations that high. I heard that the manga turned decent rather recently. |

Oh wow, I just started reading Black Clover. Seems like a pretty decent Shounen so far. Should be nice seeing it animated, Wonder when they'll announce a full anime adaptation. |

I was kind of expecting this sooner or later, but knowing how the series will go I know I will dread this somewhat. Good for the fans at least :) |

Hopefully this is Toei, pierrot or A1. Good studios can have better shonen. |

MC does actually have reason to looked down... |

It'll probably get an TV anime sooner or later. Honestly, I don't think the manga is very good. I mean, it's not the worst thing ever, but if you've read a couple other battle shonen series, then there is no point in reading Black Clover. It just does everything anything else does, but not as well. I'll remain cautiously optimistic about the future of the series in anime form... but it doesn't help that the source material just isn't good. |
