| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Everyone in alternative setting, Zetsubou sensei as the detective to solve the killing incident in the mansion that the most of students are as maids. Optimistic girl is leading Zetsubou sensei as usual. Follower girl is being the assistant. And everyone supporting their alibi... lol~ the killer is the person who is dead (suicidal). Musical with changing a bit to make peaceful world, and turns out to be fear world. I didn't even notice anything until you pointed it out and even then I had to look hard for him. Anyways, nice special. I loled at tha victim interupting Nozomu's confession. Oh, and the Maid-outfits killed me, ofc (I'm a sucker for moe-maids) I also liked Chiri's dress during the song part. Btw, lol at the Lucky Star reference in the end. Only, during that part, the "There seems to be one more person watching this anime, but we can't figure out who it is" made me think of "Another"... One thing I never get sick of are those R³ (Random Ricocheting References) to other animes. Only downside for this special: could have used more Manami... and maybe a dash of Rin, too |

| Well, compared to the anime it was boring. Also the Subs sucked in the second part so all I got was that I didn't get the real jokes...It was OK but I would by far prefer a good fourth season to this... |

| Should I watch the other seasons before this? I just finished season 1 and watched the first couple minutes of the special, but it seemed that there were some characters that were not yet introduced in season 1 that were in the special. So is it better to watch this after all of the other season or does it not matter? EDIT: Waited until I finished the other seasons, and it was probably the right choice. This special has two characters that do not appear until Zoku or Zan and the OP is the same as Zan. So if you want to watch things in order do this last, but if you want to watch it anyway you are not losing out on anything really. |

| This literally is "Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei" (Farewell, Despair Teacher) since it's the last piece of SZS material adapted by Studio Shaft... and it's been nearly a decade since this came out so I'm not holding out for a resurrection anytime soon... I understand why they had to cancel it tho. You could see them complain about low number of DVD/BD sales to warrant a sequel and the novelty of this series was slowly wearing off. So they had to can it before it was dead for good. Still they should've at least adapted the manga ending at some point. I'm in despair! The lack of proper anime adaptation of the manga ending has left me in despair! I might pick up the manga or something, sadly I don't really read. Heard some pretty wild stuff about the manga ending. So I might just check out the last 25 chapters. I almost forgot to talk about the actual content of the episode. Welp it felt like a "special" alright. But for the last episode it wasn't anything "special". Didn't expect another detective story, apparently this one was Shaft anime original. The musical bit was cute tho. |
