Ah, I had a feeling he was the brother as soon as Kanae mentioned that Sanae had one.
It was a nice ending. I'm pretty proud of her for being the bigger person and not slapping her husband. And Hori didn't leave without saying anything. ;]

This was actually one of the best manga i've read, and it had an absolutely perfect ending. Managed to take me by surprise and also gave me a feeling of completion which i hardly find in mangas.

Her putting on the scarf instead of slapping him made me clap. It's nice seeing mature characters.

Such an underrated manga / author.

I really love the ending. The outcome may be bittersweet but very appropriate in a way.

That was bitter.
At the state I'm in right now, I don't think I'd be able to have that strength.

But that bitterness tastes like medicine. A good manga.

I must agree on the lonely atmosphere. The author did a wonderful job of creating and maintaining a sense of isolation. The dialogue up until this chapter was so thoughtful, so well-written. So what the heck happened? Did anyone else find the husband's reasons for leaving unbelievable? Same issue with the brother! Given Toyoda's quality of writing up til now... I feel the finale deserved more. I feel he got lazy and went for a cop-out ending.

Things I loved about this manga was the narration, the characters and the laid back sense of melancholy. One could say the characters' motives were kind of unbelievable, even stupid but it's part of being a realist character.

The artwork was awesome 9/10

Well it had me guessing, that's for sure!

Loved most of the characters, but the plot honestly did bore me at times. And the artwork was not the best.. For a one-shot it was alright, but not the best.

Wait what, didn't he leave without saying anything? Or it is because he talked to the old man that it was okay to leave?

That was a really good manga, so bittersweet. I guess that's the harsh reality of life... I'm happy to see a mature character as well, her putting the scarf on him was a perfect moment.

I knew she wouldn't slap him. x3 I feel like Kanae really grew stronger. Her husband(ex-husband) needs to get the help of a professional if he ever wants to cure his pathological lying.

The brother also needs to work out some stuff. It was better for him to leave, as being around Kanae wasn't good for him.

That was a mature and bittersweet story. It's hard to find a story so realistic in manga.
I'm in love with the mangaka, going to read the rest of his work.

I thought that since he *doesn't* take the bus, he decides to return.

I love how the author sets us up for a mystery (or at least unanswered question) about the husband, while the story sets us up for the REAL mystery (even if all we knew was the dream-flashback).

The author's other stories are slice-of-life fun, too and great reading.

Beautiful but very sad..

Loved it very much . One of the best stories I have read.. the setting, realism, maturity, dialogues, silences, the ending, art.. loved it all. The husband's attitude when she asks one final time why he left without saying was something I liked lol. And ofcourse Kanae.. the honesty in their interaction made me wish they came back together and renewed their relationship :p

The end was good. They managed to wrap things up and even in the encounter between kanae and satoru, one can see the growth kanae went through. That was a good read.
