I stopped watching around episode 9 I dont know if I should continue. I watched the first season just so I watch this second season. The first season was pretty decent despite the plotholes and plot inconsistencies I was never bored watching it. This season have a completely different take on the story so far I found it rather boring.

Yes an no. It's getting more action, and the plot is moving along, but there's also a lot of time unnecessarily wasted on long, drawn out SOL shenanigans. Also, some good scenes from the game have been cut. This show's director, or whoever is in charge really, doesn't seem to know how to properly alocate time for scenes.

Episode 17 finally included some backstory (that was actually relevant to the plot) on Haku and the futuristic elements of the past, with some additions to what was explained in the first series. Not that this was a science based series to begin with, but the explanations for what happened in the past has gotten ridiculous to the point that it's more laughable than tense, and even the action is lackluster. If you are really curious about some of the things left unexplained in the original, you may want to get back at it, but after so many wasted episodes the anime doesn't really have much going for it.

The anime got better, but is still inferior to the first Utawarerumono.

If you hated it you should really drop it. I don't think you'll be losing much.

Yeah, what Kaetokiha said. Speaking for myself, the only reason I'm still watching this is that it's Utawarerumono (what can I say?), and I want to see how it ends, and how it compares to the game.

LoL Same here. The only reason i didn't drop Itsuwari no Kamen yet is because of the original Utawarerumono. I really liked the first anime (and the Visual Novel) and i was expecting a lot from this one, but unfortunately the anime is average at best.

Just want to see how it ends, but as far as i know the story won't be concluded on this one since there will be a 3rd game closing the story. If this is true it's another reason to not get back into watching it again.

What the fuck man, it gets awesome in the long run. The thing is they have to give some back story to all the possible mothers of Haku's childeren first, blah blah blah.

Dude, just watch it for the freaking fan hype of first season. Oh and it's most likely it will be a cliffhanger ending. Since it's coming a 3th visual novel this year named; Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro Sounds awesome right? Well, we might not be into anime anymore at the adaption of the 3th season which will air year (2100) and we're both dead then, so it doesn't really matter so much to us, of course, if we both did some genetic research to keep us alive 200 years more we might be able to watch the 3th season, or make it our self. Contact me if you want to do genetic research to live 200 and watch the 3th season btw.

I need another beer. xD

It is miles upon miles above Eruruwarerumono of the previous adaptation.

It is NOT an action show though.

the first cour i think it's more like an introduction or something ? i found it enjoyable too. and i wait for the second cour, it actually became very good, or rather amazing. the action was really awsome. well, if you stop at episode 9 i recommended to continue because it's only 3 or 4 episode more until the first cour ended. after that, they went to the war. i bet you gonna like the action :D
but if you don't really like slice of life stuff, well....better drop it then. because there were still some of a slice of life scene in the second cour...

I love the first season (and the visual novel), but this is boring. I think the biggest flaw is Haku isn't leading the story. I watched up to ep 17, and almost everything happened so far were caused by the people around him. Any conflict or plot turning point was solved by the side characters.

Literally, Haku is more like a bystander or observer vs a story oriented character. The original Haku is better because we wanted to see him to rise up and win the revolutionary war. Here, I don't have any expectation or goal in wanting him to accomplish. If you have a main character with no goal and mostly do tasks given by other people despite not liking it, it is hard to like him

Exactly my thoughts. I liked the first season because not that many main protagonists takes on the leader role.

This sums everything in this anime. Haku is just lead by the other characters all the time. He grew a little since the beginning of the anime, but he is still character with no goal and no will.
